Hi! First I want to say 'nice work' on this!
but I have a problem:

I followed your manual and tried to run the game and it gave me this message:

---------------------------
Adventure Game Studio
---------------------------
An error has occured. Please contact the game author for support, as this
is likely to be a scripting error and not a bug in AGS.
(ACI version 2.71.894)

in E3d (line 1732)
from E3d (line 2203)

Error: RawDrawImageResized: image colour depth mismatch: the background image must have the same colour depth as the sprite being drawn

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I'm using 32 bit, high color graphics at a resolution of 640 & 480.
Any solutions? :'(

Thanks Gilbott! EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!
and I had also wanted to know to create one of those radar thingies at the bottom right corner of the screen. Thanks God bless you.

Hi I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this idea:

You can rotate your view with your mouse and shoot at enemies as they fly towards you. The view would be first person.

(btw, I scoured the search and found nothing remotely helpful)

a special request to CJ, Would it be possible to increase the number of frames from 20 to 30? Why? well, I use pre-rendered 3d graphics and it would take exactly 30 frames to get a smooth walk animation. If you were to see the demo I uploaded a while back you'd notice my character 'limps' and this is the result of using 20 frames which naturally would require an additional 10 frames to get that' fluid' movement.
It would be great if this came to pass.
God bless you CJ.

Edited by mod: This was brought up again not very long ago, topics merged. next time use the search function.

I've got strong respect for any AGS game that can fully snatch away my boredom.
I just want to say you should continue your style as you've got a solid fan.
Well done Yahtzee.
You actually deserve an award.

Well Geoffkhan, just for the record...I had searched google like 7,000 times and still haven't found anything suitable.
Thanx none the less.

Hi all!
remember a while back when I announced the commencement of a mind expanding game I was working on entitled 'HEAVEN and EARTH'
see: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=24123.0

Well an awareness demo is ready but I'm having two problems
1. Size: The Demo alone is roughly 90MB!
2. Hosting: I don't have a site to host it.

If anyone could assist me then I'd be grateful. (Psst, trust me you wouldn't want to miss this for anything)
Thanks.

AGS can do it. If you can script it.

I agree entirely with Ishmael!

Hi! Anyone played Black & White enough to wish AGS could do something like that?

Firstly, I apologise for sounding arrogant. I honestly didn't mean it.
I'd really love to explain further but I'd be damaging the element of surprise as well as giving away most of the plot :-\
I can however, let you in on the concept behind the gameplay...
I intended YOU the player/explorer to be fully immersed in the virtual world.
Most people would say the 'game'( actually I prefer to call it EXPERIENCE)is in pre-rendered 3d and thus does not possess the 360 degree FoM(Freedom of movement),that's where the FMVs come in.It's a gamble!when players get bored with the 2d flatness along comes a mind-blowing 3d cutscene that not only inspires you to continue, but also provides insight concerning the unexperienced parts of the well...'experience' ;D
Like I mentioned earlier, this might dissapoint many AGS veterans in that it is unorthodox. The first thing you would notice is the freedom to explore and the tendency to drift!
Don't try to play it as you would a standard Adventure game(my favourite genre by the way) instead let the game guide you to the point where you begin to take responsibility for your actions.

A little patience...I'm trying to upload one of the FMVs for y'all to see.

I think I owe you all an apology...
Probably,my explanation or rather description of this 'game' falls short.
Actually when I said 'a whole lot of FMVs' I meant this:
You play the game using the FMVs to advance you into the slightly complex storyline, but the interactive aspect would require a decent use of brain power in making decisions via dialog choices and inventory related situations.
You may not find the stereotypical brand of puzzles that require number placement or keypad combinations,etc...
What I've tried to put together is an experience that places you in a fully interactive world(or series of worlds),where you solve problems of a less intellectual nature. The real power of this 'experience' is the character AI which although is not (yet) revolutionary, enhances the gamplay and increases the immersion.
It's just kinda different from an adventure game developed 'by the book'. ;)
Oh I also tried inventing a new type of battle system to enhance the action.
So expect fights, bloodbaths, squabbles betwixt lovers etc...

This is my first public AGS game...FREEWARE. (Although I forsee people asking me why its not commercial).

ANOTHER SCREENIE?
Oh why not:

Now before we get all excited about this 'game' it's probably best if I explained the nature of this here adventure.

i.First and foremost 'HEAVEN and EARTH' is NOT your regular stereotype adventure game... it's more of an interactive movie featuring a lot of FMVs (actually translate that to mean A WHOLE LOT!) :o

ii.Instead of puzzles, you get dialogs and Videos

iii.Pre-rendered Graphics

iv.Speech pack included
v.Immersion and Depth
vi. Unusal Character AI
vii. 3d FMVs
viii. Original Music

As far as Stereotypical adventure games go, H&E stands on its own

All I can say is that your Module made game development rewarding and fun.
May God bless you and increase your knowledge for the good of your fellow man.

Hi all! er... I was just wondering, what exactly would it take for an AGS developer to have his/her work displayed at the IGF?
Personally, I believe AGS has earned her right to be heard all the world over.

So, what say ye then? ;)
