Thanks a lot dude!

I've posted for crits, and crits you gave me.  :)

Advantage here is that friends and familly are not good at crits.

Outside look is always better.  ;)

Ahoy there!

Instead of fancy pants, I propose you some webcomic (my 1st one): http://buildfailed.blogspot.com/

Plot: some guys (and girls) working for a bank as computer science engineer. This is intend to be comic  :P

All crits are welcomed.

Thanx in advance guys (and girls).

InCreator idea is not bad, but I prefer original style. Also it allows details (like door inscription) and 3-day bear of detective that would not match with wacky lines.

Great style, congrats.

By misforturned guy, you mean the duck-look-alike character ?

If it is, won't be his little size an handicap regarding to the surrounding objects (sofa, door...) ?

Hope you finish this soon.  :)

Playing some Call of Duty on PSP.

And playing on working on my game (that counts ? :) )

C'était surtout le "Aaaaaaaah" qui me dérangeait. Pour le personnage, c'est aussi par rapport au personnage du premier screen qui lui s'intègre plus au décor.

I'm really impatient to use this strange items.  :o

See ya!  :D

I love your graphix style, it's really impressive.  :)

Too things though:
- the main character outline is larger than the overall style, it distrubs me (a little bit).
- I don't like the title (I'm french).

That's it, good luck, continue with this quality of drawing.

Bravo!

IMO, download count doesn't really mean something:  :P
- People that have just clicked on the link and never achieved the download.  :-X
- People that have downloaded the game and never played it.  :-
- People that have launched the game, played with it for few minutes, and never again played it since.  :-[

It would be more interresting adding a feature like a online highscore (time spent to beat the game for example) at the end of the game, giving a more real gamers counting.

I think the best way to see popularity of a game is the community: forums, emails, reviews on gamer websites... The more feedback you get, the best it is. Of course the game must have something, you must feel it. A crappy one-week-it's-done game doesn't make it. You must be objective and critic on your own creation.

To that purpose, I propose giving interresting websites and forums to promote a game (I hope it doesn't exist somewhere in the forum though ???):

I've made some changes on top post, thanks for crits.

You're totally right !   :)

Thanks Andail.

In fact, the lamps are off, only the light from the windows iluminate the scene. But you're right, it seems they are on. I'll fix that right now.

Thanks Fee.

You're right, the bg is warped: you can see the four walls in the same plan.

The second table is shorter due to its front view position. I'm not totally happy about it though.

Hi there !  :D

I'm done for now with this BG.

It's empty but it's normal. I would like crits about style and shadowing.

Thanks.  :)

*Update 30/03/2007*
I've done some changes regarding shadowing and lightening. I've made the lamps OFF too.

Hope this is better:

The room isn't that much realistic, the window, stones of the walls and sink seem cartoony.

It's the black outline of the bed that makes the real difference.

You could get rid of, but it wouldn't match the style your practicing (as the other screenshots reveal cartoony black outlined backgrounds).  ???

Better add some black outlines to the cage, sink and walls.  :P

Whole consistency of the game art is really important to my mind.  :)

My feedback about drawing programs.

1) Photo editing/Fake movie posts/Finishing a drawing :
About Photoshop, I must agree with BorisZ. I use it since the 5.0 version and the GUI is really intuitive. I learnt it alone, step by step without tutorials. I remember every time I wanted to do a new thing, I found the feature and it suits perfectly. Never been disapointed, possibilities seems infinites.

So for all the 1), Photoshop.

2) Drawing :
I draw using Illustrator, to my mind the Photoshop of the drawing.
But... I was forced to use another thing on my computer at work ;D. So I found Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/) and dude it makes the job.
And it's free.

So for drawing: Illustrator or Inkscape.

3) Animate :
I tested CinePaint http://www.cinepaint.org/ but not really convinced.
And Synfig http://www.synfig.com/screenshot.php, interresting but it was too early in the development stage.
And then Flash, and it does the job.

Sor for drawing : Flash.

I know Photoshop and Flash are commercials but I don't think real alternatives exists.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

To my mind, it's neat and nice. The move is funny, sensed and fluid enough.
The not bending elbow is not a problem since if you try to move like the snowman (meaning jumping), you'll notice you'll lock your elbow to give you dash.

I'm curious about the whale and its walkcycle.

See ya and happy new year.

To my mind, Roots from Sepultura (Under A Pale Grey Sky version is so far the best from Max Cavalera).

Very nice. Congrats.

Seems cool and nice, awesome style.

One question though: What is this black swirling spot on the big man (on his belly and right arm)? Seems like your screenshot is dirty.
