Brillliant, thanks Pumaman. You're a life saver!  ;D

Hey, I've got this problem with The Journey Down. Twice now I've had to restart because when trying to load saves, cos the game crashes and I get:

An exception 0xC0000094 occurred in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x00483D9D ; program pointer is +220, ACI version 3.12.1074, gtags (1,0)

Can someone confirm if this is because of the room I've saved in? This has really annoyed me as last time I got far and now I will have to start again, so I'd prefer to know how I can avoid crashing in the future!!!

I just want to add to the chorus of approval really. I'm not yet finished, but so far I love everything about the game (apart from the slightly blocky characters  ;) but that's a minor thing). The music, the puzzles, the characters and the dialogue are all excellent. They feel familiar yet also original. Also, I would have to disagree with the previous comment about the pixel hunt- to me it was an obvious item that I could see when I entered the screen, but I guess everyone's different.

It's a brilliant little introduction to what I hope will be a fulfilling series. The graphics and music are exceptional. Can I ask though - what's the song that plays in the last scene and the end credits? I've heard it before but I can't place it.

Looking forward to the next excursion.

My apologies if this has already been discussed on an old thread (I did do a quick search and couldn't find anything), but has anyone played any adventure games on the i-pod touch? I'm getting one soon, and I know that you can get Monkey Island and Steel Sky from the games store.

Has anyone  played them, or could anyone recommend any others? Cheers muchly. :D

A neat little game, or maybe more like interactive fiction as there's quite a lot of dialogue and scenes where the player isn't in control. Obviously very beholden to 5DAS, but then that's not necessarily a bad thing.

There's not a lot of backstory to make us feel any empathy with Nathan, and also I think more of the "furniture" could have had dialogue when you click on it. But these are minor points, and I'm sure you'll go on to make some great games.

Really enjoyed the look and the atmosphere of the game and the writing is excellent.

However:

Spoiler
the puzzle with the robot chef and getting the chip out of his mouth is infuriating and in the end I gave up. It's probably just me, but I couldn't get it out and in the end I gave up so i never saw the end of the game. Ho hum!

Look forward to the other instalments tho.

Just want to say that I'm playing this at the moment and loving it very much!

ok, long shot this one, but I remember a game from ages ago that I would like to play again, but haven't the slightest idea what it's called.

It was trad point and click, and I remember the game was played in a really small window that you couldn't make larger.

Anyways, you started off in a house, and I remember that something (possibly door key) was hidden in the toilet, in the cistern perhaps? Once you got out of the house, it went onto your back steps which were concrete and I think there was a old bin and some graffiti.

The only other location I remember was some big high-rise with a shop that you went into and talked to the guy behind the counter. Would love to play this again, as I never got that far, but like I say I can't remember even vaguely what it was called. Any help?

yeah, I played that Dierdre Kiai game The Game That Takes Place On A Cruise Ship (or something), and after perservering for ages trying to advance the story by wandering back and forth, trying different item combinations, I eventually conceded defeat and consulted the walkthrough...

...turns out I'd missed doing something earlier and so I was now stuck in a dead end, from which I couldn't proceed. I was extremely  >:(

I mean, what's the point?

The game kept crashing the same place for me

Spoiler
upstairs, in the room with the trapdoor

The screen would freeze, I'd still be able to move the mouse but nothing worked. So I was forced to give up. Shame though, as I was quite enjoying it  :(

I LOVED the demo of Prototypical. Have been waiting for that one for the longest time.

Glad to hear that it's not been abandoned.

Bjyman

it's difficult to explain without hiding the text, but use [ hide ] and [ /hide ] at the start and end of the text you want to hide, BUT leave out the spaces I've put inside the brackets- I've just put them in to stop it hiding my explanation!  ;D

2 games which I haven't seen recommended so far but which are in my all-time top 10 would be:

Spooks
Emily Enough - Imprisoned

But I would say that you need a dark sense of humour to appreciate these (expecially the latter). Enjoy.

Thanks Olaf- I've now managed to achieve both of those!  :)

On the second point:
Spoiler
The first time I played the game I killed Chisholm and the mystery went unsolved. Second time I didn't kill him and the mystery was solved. The end story said that he testified about the Mafia involvement so I guess that's the mystery

Question about the Cargo bays:

Spoiler
How do you get Chisholm to open the Cargo bay where the electrics have gone (after you replace the circuit board)?

When I try to ask him he says he's hasn't got time and we should be focussed on the murder. Is there a particular time or set of circumstances that is needed to get him to open the bay?

Also...

Spoiler
Can you only 'solve the mystery' if you don't kill Chisholm?

I've played the game through twice and tbf the first time I played it through I was a little confused, but then I went back and played the other games through before playing 6DAS through again, and it made more sense the 2nd time around.

My main problem with this episode is that it's more like an interactive story than a point and click game; not enough puzzles. But hey that doesn't detract from the overall series I don't think.

Still playing the game on my first run through, and loving it so far.

Very atmospheric and claustrophobic. The comparisons with 7 Days A Skeptic are valid, but that's no bad thing. I'm liking the music, although there could be a bit more of it. Top stuff though.

A neat little game, although I have to say that it felt more like a bridge between what has gone before and what will come in the final episode, than an episode in its own right.

Also, sorry to be in the minority and without meaning to offend, but I had to turn off the voice acting as it was pretty hammy  ;D.

Good job though.

Wow, you've done a great job of selling the game to us all!!!  ::)
