Messages - Gravity

The more hotspots, the better. Not just generic messages though. If I see something in a game, the protagonist should be able to see it, touch it, smell it, etc. To me, it does not matter if the object in question has any real use. Adventure games are meant to be explored. It also helps give the player a insight on how the protagonist views the world around him. If you kept it to a bare minimum you might as well just have objects you can only use in the game, accompanied with a in game walkthrough telling you what you need, where you need it, and what you need it for.

Of course I don't mean that ever little book in a bookshelf needs a separate description or interaction. But you get the idea.

General Discussion / Zombie Webcomic
Sun 12/09/2010 03:33:10
I have been helping with the writing for a couple of games that are currently under development. The thing is, there isn't always something to do. So I get bored. Quite often, actually. So I have been fiddling around with a idea for a webcomic/strip/etc and was wondering if there were any fellow AGSers with artistic talents that may like to help out. It wouldn't be a full time thing or require great amounts of commitment. Just something fun to mess around with and see how it turns out.

Without going into too many details (not that I have many details to share) this project will mainly be about a group of loud-mouthed, cocky, (etc) orphaned kids (ages 8 - 13/15 or something) versus a global zombie menace. The idea is to produce colorful characters in a quite graphic (gory) setting filled with humor, gore, and of course zombies. I may eventually need a extra writer to help with some of the comical aspects but for now I'm really just seeking a decent artist who may be interested to get with me, come up with concepts, plan, etc. Right now I'm open to any sort of artistic style and if you have any ideas, then great.

If you are interested, then feel free to comment or send me a pm. Thanks.

I'm not expecting to be flooded with responses but any input would be great. I believe this idea could turn into a rather fun, humorous, and entertaining side project.

Awesomely neat! A few cool AGS games in the works and are being added to my must play list. I'll add this one as well.

General Discussion / Re: Fast Food Rants?

I prefer to get fat and lazy off processed foods from grocery stores. But when I do eat out I have to say I have an addiction to Arby's. Always been quality food with great customer satisfaction.

Domithan

And I suck. I must be suffering from writers block. That or laziness.

I'll be the first to give this thread some love! Interesting topic. We'll see if I can manage to stop being lazy enough to enter this one.

You should use that TCP/IP Plugin and turn this into a AGS MUD. Yeah, that would be awesome. Wishful thinking and all that. Oh well, even if that doesn't happen I'm still looking forward to some IF goodness.

Yawr. I remember now. But he didn't just play in western movies. ;) Anyway, to each their own.

Clint Eastwood has been around forever. How could you not know who he is? Though I also do not watch that many films I still have to say you can't get much better than Eastwood. As for the other stuff, I'm too lazy to comment more.

Dualnames gets my vote. On a side note, why don't I ever enter anything in these comps? Ah, maybe next time.

We are voting now, right?

Well this thought sort of kills the whole text game but ever thought of adding in selectable keywords or commands into your game. You could use your mouse to select a highlighted keyword or whatever to perform that action. Or at the very least use bold words or highlight actions a player could take so people would have an easier time playing? Me, I'm old school IF so it doesn't really matter to me. Just a thought.

Go nuts:

Beat me to it. There are also a lot of other name generators floating around out there. My suggestion is to have one open as well as a domain registration site just to check. Googling for a name you like is also something to do, just to really make sure.

You call that art? Bah, I could do way better than that. In my dreams, anything is possible. Sadly I have to wake up and face reality but I try to put that off as long as possible.

Oooooo. IF game. I love IF. Just love it. As someone who used to write IF using various tools of the trade (I prefer Inform 7 now - well I try it anyway), this has gotten my attention.

Also for those old school lovers of IF. X was mostly used as a shortcut for examine. L for look. Look and examine were totally 'different' back then, M'kay. Seriously though, finish this game. In my humble opinion IF will always be the greatest form of gaming entertainment in the world.

Hm, I don't think I've ever welcomed people to the forum. So to make up for the last ten or more years... WELCOME ONE AND ALL (SOON TO COME) NEWCOMERS! Yes, I believe that atones me of my sins.

Edit: Great, I had to ruin my perfect posting record by editing my post to correct a spelling mistake I made when editing my post.

The more I see, the more I get interested. Any chance for a teaser trailer showcasing the game in action.

Looks good. Sounds good. I hope it plays good. Would offer to help with writing but I've never tried comical stuff before. Anyway, good luck with the game!

From what I've read it seems the view wasn't worth the climb.

Also, define famous. Everybody has different views on whom may be famous. Also, do fictional famous characters count?

The art is gravy but I'd like to know more about the story and such. As long as this doesn't end up being just another pretty face, I'm looking forward to it.
