Site & Forum Reports / Removing Games
Wed 05/09/2018 01:59:32
I have some old games (2006-2007) I'd like to have removed from the site, but can't figure out our to do this. I PMed AGA yesterday, so might be waiting on a reply.

I'd also like them removed from Internet Archive. They were uploaded by someone using the handle denzquix on December 22, 2016.

Can I get any help or suggestions? Thanks!

Have been using it for an hour or so now, however, there is a memory corruption. Then it crash.
It seems that that automatic complete your typing thingy just crash it. Better to type in another editor, then copy past back into AGS, otherwise it just thows an memory dump.
Eventually, it messed up a sprite?, and now it cant load anymore. (I guess I saved after another crash... sometimes you could recover from the crash.)
At this point, Im giving up.
Rather a shame tho... since the other home computer does have XP, but the wife uses that one (which has XP), so no AGS programming for me on my laptop which has Ubuntu.. ai ai. :P

Thank you. Followed the steps, working.
Imported a game that I worked on under XP, the only problem so far I found is that I cant open a view or a character, alto i can open a room for edit. For view and character, it only want to export or delete or whatever.... also no way to open the global script with a click, must go to the file tab and do it from there.
So, at this point I can program, which is nice, but view and character setups must be done under XP, since I just can't see to open those windows for editing...
any suggestions?

I will try that.

Hi,

VISTA issue:

When trying to create a new data file while playing the game, the user gets the following error: Null pointer referenced

It seems to me that this version of AGS is unable to create a new file in the default directory.

Since my system is XP, I can't verify the solution as yet, but I was thinking of creating the data file upfont (ie, when the user install the game the file is already there) and then just updating the file. Hopefully that will work.

Another user just said that it crashes Vista and he had to downgrade to XP before he could play it...

Current:
AGS Editor .NET (Build 3.1.1.67)
v3.1.1, December 2008

Or is the only other option to upgrade to 3.1.2?

Any workarounds welcome.

Regards.

I wanted to add -- I've made a game with 26 puzzles included (36 pieces each puzzle), and it still works just perfectly.

Okay, thanks!

The changes you made in 3.1+ have been very cool.

I was wondering -- next to my game icon, it says AGS and Chris Jones. Is this part of the index tab he asks us to leave alone, or is this something else? If we are allowed to change it, how do I do it? I'm using version 3.1.1.

I attached a screenshot, since I'm not sure how to explain it:

This is brilliant -- thanks!

We did find it didn't work when we set "use low res coordinates in script" to false, in AGS 3.1.1. However, setting it to true worked fine. :)

You saved us TONS of work.

Anyone have an idea how I might add a jigsaw puzzle minigame to a game? I want to be able to drag pieces around while the mouse button is pressed, and release them when the button is released, so a player can assemble a puzzle. When the piece is in the correct place, I need it to stay stuck.

I need it in dummies terms, since I'm not the best scripter...  ::)

This was covered in a previous thread, but the code and demo don't work in the new AGS. Here's the link to the older thread:

I know we can use regions to darken or lighten a specific area, which is great. But, what about brightening a specific sphere of influence, like the area surrounding the mouse?

For example, the mouse acts like a flashlight/torch, making specific areas brighter when scrolled over.

Is this possible?

The game has a strip club in it, because Part I involves Jake working as a private detective, mostly on infidelity cases. I could put the girls in bikinis, and it wouldn't hurt the story any. I am not sexist -- it there's female nudity, there will be male nudity too. Only fair! But, we're talking very tame stuff, seriously.
#14
True, but its mostly Americans that are so hung up on nudity. If you speak with a lot of Europeans, its not a big deal.

I live in Africa, and there are traditional topless woman on tv all the time. Here it's not really considered nudity at all, depending on where you live.

Jake, plus one of the dancers in a club scene. The second isn't really ready yet, but you get the idea.

This is such a conservative group. Not something I would have expected from most gamers. Keeping that in mind, I tread carefully!

LOL, we've improved them substantially. They look a lot less stiff -- not perfect, but much less "zombie," kwim. Lemme see if I can dig up a clothed sample.

We're looking for beta testers for Anticipating Murder 2, Part I. The game just under 50% complete, so I'd like people willing to test just the first half for now (starting from next week).

It has 3D graphics, and a somewhat mature storyline (so please be 16 or up), with hokey humor. I haven't started to promote it yet, because I want to wait until we're further along. The game is now 38MB uncompressed.

If you're interested, please PM me. :)

What are your opinions about nudity in games? Meaning, PG13 type of nudity -- maybe characters shown from the back, or topless? Seeing as how games with some degree of nudity get 10x the downloads, its very tempting to add something!

We were thinking of adding something to game that is in production. It would be optional, so the player would get a warning before entering the scene, and would have an option of not viewing anything objectionable. Optionally, we could have two builds -- one censored, one not. The storyline is designed for adults anyway.

I don't feeling like sorting through 10,000 emails of complaint either, which is my concern.

Very cool. It must have been a challenge to script? We will check it out.

Cool game! Have you made it in a 3d software?  ::)

We made the backgrounds and did the animations using Anim8tor. I also borrowed a few meshes from different free sources online, all will be credited in the read me.

The characters (especially the faces) are made with MakeHuman, yup, although I added the hair and clothes.
