I got told to post here so I am:

I don't really know what to say though as I already said everything on IRC. (This game looks quite ace.) I mean it is a pretty simple project and kudos for wanting to do the graphics yourself. (At least then a project might get completed.)

oh yeah, it's 2n contest time, i hope you brought your happy pants.

Todays topic is "YOU HAVE BRAIN DAMAGE AND ARE RUNNING THROUGH CORRIDORS." You have to make a 2n based around this. (Use your brain imo) I'm not going to set any limitations so whatever your imagination comes up with THAT IS COOL w/ ME.

Well that's the end. And I'm going to have to say congratulations to Erenan. Both pieces were really good and they both really captured the atmosphere so well done both of you.

Nice one Erenan, Not only is it really atmospheric, not only is it a really nice tune...but you managed to use the duck.

Also man, damn this is really cool! I wish I could make music like this!

Alright! Last round went pretty well. Let's try and do something cool this time round.

A Torture Scene / Sequence

Picture any torture sequence from any game or movie whether it be the electric shock treatment from MGS or Hooks in the back of Ichi the Killer. I want you to come up with an atmospheric piece that portrays the mood of the sequence. You can describe what is happening in the sequence if you want or you can leave it up to our imagination.

Also you will get bonus points for effective and creative use of a duck sound but it's not necessary at all.

Good luck everyone, Have fun and hopefully my first tune contest doesn't fail.

EDIT: Making an edit, I worded this badly. I'm not saying MAKE  PIECE OF MUSIC TO GO WITH THE SCENE YOU CHOSE. I'm saying think up your own scene....yeah.

Awesome! Nice one everyone, this was a great round. I'll hopefully come up with an idea today.

Thank you BunnyMilk. Yours reminds me of Doom2 which can't be a bad thing.Ã,  ;)

May I ask what software you use?

Seeing as you're interested, sure but it's a long and tedious process. I just do it to get the quality I want although I admit my tune contest entries are pretty poor quality.

I start off with good old GP4, I do all my composition here because it's quick and easy. (I also handle volume shifts and panning in GP4 because it is the best I have found. I then export that as MIDI and import it into FL Studio 5 and replace it with soundfonts and I can layer in any effects I need there like reverb and phasers. FL is the best program I have found reverb, phasers and overdrive right now.

I then export that as an MP3 and for the tune contest I'll normally stop there.

If I'm doing something else I often use Adobe Audition and Audacity too. Adobe Audition for recording and I often record certain channels in Audacity. (Adobe Audition is excellent for adding effects to vocals or just position realsound that you have recorded and audacity has an excellent wah effect. For some reason the Wah effect on my guitar pedal is horrible so I just fake it with audacity.)

And there you have it. A really unnecessary process of creating music, more than you asked for but hey....

there you go.
