Hi, I have looked through the manual and I tells me that Importing a character is not the way to create a character from scratch and I have looked all over but can't find anything.

Can anybody offer some help. Roger is too small for my backgrounds. I want to create my own character but don't know how.

Thanks

Hi All,

I have searched on a few sites but have only been able to find a few sets of backgrounds/characters/sprite etc etc

Can anybody suggest where I can get some pre-made backgrounds. Broken Sword style but not so detailed. It is so I can practice my drawing against somthing.

Thanks

Well, all i did was just completly start again. I loaded up a different room and it worked jsut fine. I put 5 hotspots in there and they all work. I don't know what I did differently because I followed the guide word for word.
sorry

So, if I use white on a design and import it, ASG will see the white as transparent?

I will try and use a cream sort of colour and see what happens.

Any hints on sizing as things are always too big. I tried highliting the pre made sprites and checking out there size (I think the pink poster is 11x11) but I can't tell because it wont load properly.

Is there a trick I have missed because I can't find anything in the guide?

I have been trying to create my own itmes so i followed the guide.

I created them in MS Paint
I imported the sprite but it was too big!!

So, I shrunk it down in paint to 11x17 and that was near enough the correct size.

so i selected it as an object, but when i put it on the room floor it turned the same colour as the floor and only a few lines were visable.

The object was meant to be a white business card with a few lines on it to reselmble writing. I basically made a black rectangle outline and drew 3 lines in it to look like writing, just to play about with it.

any ideas or advice on how to make better sprites using paint? I'm only on dial up internet so have problems downloading new software s it takes forever.

Thanks
Ben

Hi guys, It seems to have sorted itself out now. Thanks anyway

What Programme is this on? This is amazing

Sorry, I may have worded that a bit wrong.

The room my character is in has a door and a window. You can see 2 walls and the door is on one and the window is on the other. The window is higher up than the door it (like any room ina house)

Hotspot 1 is the door and that works fine. I click on it with the eye option, he walks to the walk to point and the message comes up.

Hotspot 2 does nothing. It is set in green so I know it is a hotspot and not a walkable area. I can't think what I have done wrong!

For hotspot 1

Under "look at hotspot" in the interactions button I have Game - Display a message (0)

For hotspot 2

Under "look at hotspot" in the unteractions button I have Dame - Display a message (1)

I have also set walk to marker for both of these witin the walkable areas

That has solved the problem. Thank you very much.

Ok sorry

I have set up that when you click on it with the look action, that the character will walk to it and then it will display a message. It is just the same as hotspot 1. I have tried using hotspot 3 as well and that didn't work

Yes thats what is happening. How do I solve it. I dont know what you mean by depth btw

I have hotspot 1 working and I click on the look option and it displays my message, Then when I try to do the same on hotspot 2 it doesn't do anything. I have set the walk-to point and saved the settings.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Hi Guys

I have managed to upload a background and put a character in it. But when I test the room, It only shows my character. I have to run the cursor across the entire room to get it to show up. Any idea's why this is and how I can stop it?

Hi Guys

I have just downloaded this software and am having a lot of fun with it. Unfortunatly, I am not good at drawing and to make matters worse I only have paint at my disposale ::)

Can anybody tell me a good web site for pre made backgrounds? Or failing that, give me some help on how to create good looking backgrounds. At the moment I am trying to create a bedroom for a man that looks like it has been trashed. I need a bed, window and door in the frame.

Please feel free to add me to MSN if you want as I could always use help.

Thanks
Ben
