Just a short tune, as a I really wanted to compete but don't really got the time :P

-Infierno de la tierra-
(Montage)
Mexico in the 19th century.
A priest has decided to travel out in the desert to "come close to God", as many other brothers has done before him. Because he has lived next to the desert all is life, he knows how to survive there, but even so, he never thought that it would be this rough. At the days it is to hot to even think about something else than shelter. At nights it is so cold, that he shivers to the bones. But between day and night, in the dusk and in the dawn, the desert for a moment is forgiving. At these precious moments, the priest sees that the desert is beautiful, with the sun shining light over the majestic sanddunes. He thinks about home. About the ones he loves. "There are solid things in this world", he thinks. "Great mountains and strong fortresses. But their solidity is just an illusion, because it all comes down to one thing. Sand." And then he continues his long and dangerous journey through the desert.

Here is a useful patch.
No, don't use that patch, i've tried it, it had a crappy outlook, was full of viruses and stole some of my soul.

If you got an intel mac though, just run windows with boot camp or other similar program, it works fine.

Well this was a amusing theme, here's my tune:

I think I went a bit over the top in the end of the tune  :P

I've been sitting for an hour or so composing music for a movieproject in school, but when I  finished I discovered something horrible. When I started I first sat at my piano trying to find a nice melody, and I did pretty quickly, so then I went over to my computer and started to arrange it(it was supposed to be a quite slow pianothing with some strings). I was pretty satisfied, so I shut down the program, and started to listen to music on iTunes instead. After I while the theme to the Pirates of the goddam-Caribbean came up and...well basicly I have copied the tune right of. Not intentionaly of course, but somwhere in my brain this tune existed, and when I started to play on the piano, I probably started with some familliar notes from that tune, and the just continued, thinking that I made it up right on the spot.
This isn't the first time this sort of thing happen either! Does this happen to everyone or is it just because I'm a bad musician?  :P :-\

I made a quick one too  :)

This is in the entrance hall of the house, the mother is taking farewell of her son, who is going to seek the adventure in the world. As she watches him walking away over the hills, she realizes how big the world is.

Well, Gregjazz killed this competition in my opinion, but I made a tune anyway...

How about Electric Light Orchestra? I wasn't even born when they were big, but to me it seems that they were great, and created a huge amount of good songs.

And if you got so much space to fill you must have some Beatles, especially their later albums, from 1965 and forward(I see that Chrille mentioned one album)

Nice entries so far, here is mine:

The tune

It is supposed to describe sudden anger in the begining, and then the need for revenge.

Wow bartillier, if you were only half as good at hosting tune contests... ;)

Yeah Coupling is fun, but Black Adder is in a much higher league than the rest of the tv-comedies from Britain, and as far as I know, in the rest of the world too.

This was great :D

I really hope that the tune contests will countinue in this way...

Thank you, that was the feeling I wanted to compose. Your tune is nice too.

I was inspired by a painting hanging in our house, the painting I'm showing here looks almost the same.

The song

And it seems that the quality of the song went worse when I converted it to mp3, sorry about that...

Critics' Lounge / Re: First music theme song

Well it's a good start, but maybe you should add some other instruments? I would say that a guitar would be nice in the background for example. Also it would get very repetive if you just hade the same melody all the time, so try to change the melody after you've been playing this line for maybe two or more times.

If I where to do this song for example, I would first let the melody you've created now play alone, then the second time add a guitar who played some chords, and then change the melody a bit, or maybe add some easy drums.

Also, I would shorten the note that you are holding out near the end.

Song: Blue And alone by Weeping Willows
Comment: Please ignore the video, since this band is quite unknown outside Sweden, I couldn't find any better link.
I really like this song, gets me all emotional.
How I discovered it: It was the opening tune for a swedish comedy program called "Pistvakt" , the program was mediocre, but I really liked this song.
Fun Fact: No, not really.

Well that's a quite unusual subject, you sure got some imagination ;)

Since I'm from Sweden and feel "the Nordic Breeze" as we speak, I can not let this pass, in other words, count me in  :)
