Pretty hard to seriously take some fantasy character by the name of Steve the Berzerker when you really think about it.

I'm actually thinking of asking Gord to allow me to proofread the game's script once again. Even I feel my work is unfinished whenever someone like Rui can still find mistakes where there should be none.

By the way, the correctly spoken version of that quote from the opening of the game is...

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents."

That line is from H.P. Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu".

If Gord allows me to do another proofreading, this is one of the many things I hope to fix in order to make the proper english translation more complete than it was before.

In my proofreading of the game, I tried to make the corrected lines fit into Gord's original vision of Lost One being a kind of villian who basks in the powers he has been given. It was pretty hard to read his lines in the previous improper english and really imagine him enjoying himself in this regard.

After all, society is the true catalyst in his creation. Without them, there would be no Lost One. So, great going society, you pretty much signed your own death warrant in this regard.

One thing I'm going to ask Gord this time around is that he give me more control over the script and its dialogue. If the dialogue for the new version isn't improved as many people are saying, I think the problem is simply because I wasn't given enough control the first time.

This is a live and learn scenario. Sorry if the debut of this new version of LITN was dissapointing in this regard.

In regards to your complaints Rui, I actually did try presenting the idea of making new icons for the new version of Living in the Nightmare. Among my ideas I believe I suggested an icon for talking and an icon for walking.

I also think I suggested implimenting a compass to indicate where the player could move.

Hell, even I would've liked Gord to try and make these ideas a reality.

Well, it's out and one of the first things I did when the game finished downloading was to see how my proofreading turned out.

Gord did make some alterations to my proofreading that only reverted much of the game's dialogue back to its original state of unkempt english. I was thankful to find out alot of the other lines of dialogue remained the way I rewrote them in my last proofreading session.

This is largely because Gord didn't give me complete control over the script and the script was for the original version of Lost in the Nightmare and not this version. I've since had a chance to talk to Gord and is ready at any time to send me over the script for this version and once again let me proofread it.

As for the rest of the game, all I can really say is it sure has purty graphics!

In addition to proofreading the original game dialogue, Ahmet has promised me that he will allow me to proofread the new content as well. So there's no need for concern if any of you are worried about that kind of thing.

Proofreading the game script was nothing short of hard. Though I'm surprised to find out Gord is going to be adding in new content to accompany such a macbre piece of interactive fiction. I haven't played such a game since the Dark Eye.

Believe me, when I get agitated, I usually tend to forget to be consistent in my writing.

In any case, proofreading is NOT finished and will be resuming due to this completley unwanted setback.

I have to be honest Gord, when I got you email telling me you were going to revent back to the original lines of dialogue you wrote for the current version of LITN, I feel as though I've wasted alot of my time. I reedited those lines in order to make the game fully understandable to english speaking audiences.

However, if you're willing too, I can reedit some of the lines to be in the style you originally wrote them in, while still being completley understandable to english speaking players.

EDIT: I've just reviewed the script you sent me and, I can assure you, that you've pretty much just sent a majority of the dialogue back to the state it was in before.

You really should've just told me that you wanted some lines to remain in the style they were written in before you sent me the script to proofread.

I realize that this topic is old and that Ahmet has already said he's working on a 1.2 version of LITN, but I just wanted to let you all know he's still working on it.

Infact, as of this moment, proofreading is almost done and a few more bugs have been discovered and should (hopefully) be fixed for 1.2.

I'll probably let Ahmet fill you in on the progress of 1.2, I've probably said enough.

I think "Adventure" is the one gaming genre in which we'll finally be able to have a great Doctor Who game. What's more, if Tom Baker's the Doctor then I'm more or less convinced of this.

Yeah, an arrow indicating movement would really be a nice little touch. Would also remind me alot of "The 11th Hour" (Man, that was a great game.)

18+ is also related to violence, isn't it? There are some rather violent scenes, even though they're not animated. And the second nightmare sequence (the not-so-good one) is downright disturbing.

I've actually played the game long enough to say that Living in the Nightmare features some very graphic violence at times. There are constant visuals of blood, crucified skeletons, violent deaths, even a corpse or two. Pretty hard not to call this a violent game that deserves such a rating as 18+.

There is only one instance of nudity in this game, though it involves a child. Other than that, the game is highly supportive of clothing only gameplay  :=
