I hardly play AGS games anymore so I've decided to stop making walkthrough videos.

It would be nice if someone picks up the torch. It's not that hard. Just play a game a few times, find the most logical path and record it. Add some info or notes about the game and upload them.
(I personally don't like the LPs where people keep yapping in their crappy microphones overcriticizing everything, instead of keeping the game moving but that's just my opinion. I'm not really a talker anyway.)

Troll or not, he HAS motivated me to play an AGS for the first time in half a year.

I've experienced the same problem with racing games. When doing time trials my lap times are getting shorter and shorter but then I reached a point when it's becoming repeatative, I lose concentration, make mistakes and lap times get worse. I'm acting on intuition and not learing anything new.
I do get better if I give the game a rest for awhile and then pick it up again.

I think it has something to do with left brain vs right brain, but google didn't turn up any articles about this phenomina (or maybe I'm not using the right keywords).

Ok, Firefox is fixed and crispy again, but I'm a ninny and am still looking for an Explorer solution (even though the french and german governments recommend the world not to use it!).

edit- I've also unchecked Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Multimedia> Always use Clear Type for HTML which makes text clear and thin again but obviously didn't effect sprites.
I can't find a quick solution with google. Are we the only people on the internet that get bothered by looking at blurry sprites?

Nothing changed, the vids were not deleted or muted but I'd just like to know who is in the wrong here.

Recently I noticed that Firefox AND Explorer make magnified sprites look blurry. It wasn't always like this but I don't remember when it changed.

I've unchecked Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Multimedia> smart image dithering if anybody was wondering.

If you're refering to camtasia studio then you can change the frame rate of the recording.

I use camtasia for longplays because it has a good encoder and recording and editing is quite simple. The editor is, in fact, too simple and very limited. If you want to edit a recording like a music video I suggest you use something else.

yeah, since your background sprites are pretty flat in terms of colour RLE compression should help alot.

Winrar is compressing it 366%. Unless you make some radical decisions it will never be that much lower.
Radical idea 1: Divide the game over 2 or more chapters, each a different game exe.
Radical idea 2: Change the screen resolution of all backgrounds (and sprites too).
Radical idea 3: Remake the game in an older version of AGS that has less built in libraries.
Radical idea 4: I'm just guessing here but use/draw less walkable areas and hot spots.
Not so radical idea: More midi music and less animated backgrounds.

In this modern world with high speed internet access there isn't much sense in making files a few MB smaller.

The latest 3D movie I saw was Up. I was not impressed.
I think this whole 3D rage is just a hype to lure people into the theatres instead of downloading it from pirate bay buying the DVD release.
From what I've seen the movie looks like that chase scene from the latest Indie 4, so Avatar better have some suprizing and deep story if it want to leave an awe impression on me.

Maybe you could work on a small project together with one or two other people as a team. It distributes the work load and keeps you motivated (drop me a line if you're recruiting).
