A western RPG - count me in!
Love the visuals. Good luck getting over the finish line.

Been away from this thread for a long time... the guilty pleasure this week was rediscovering my Bon Jovi - These Days album (first album I ever bought) and playing it at my son all week on the school run. However, because I can never stick to just 1, these have been my big tracks of the past month.

This live performance...  :-D

These dudes...

And then this track from the most excellent Mirage album...

If it's any consolation, you are not alone. Here's one of mine from a couple of years ago. Even forgot to link to the game!  :-D

But this is gloriously refreshing and human!

I also believe he sincerely does not hold those views, and there is a degree of violent agreement here - but these two statements I take issue with:

"I expect no forgiveness, for I don't believe I have done anything wrong where I would need to be forgiven."
"I expect civility and basic human decency, things I am fully willing and able to grant even to people with whom I vehemently disagree and disapprove of."

You expect others to treat you civilly and with human decency, yet, when you use an image or argument that may be deeply offensive to others for various reasons and they have expressed that, even if your aim was not to offend, you are indicating you don't have the decency to at the very least apologise to them for doing so. I'm not saying you have to apologise - i'm just saying you expect others to treat you in a way you maybe don't treat them.

"It's a fear of ghosts." - It's naive to refer to nazism as a dead ideology - it is not dead, it is just not popular, and sadly given oxygen that can change over time. Of course a 'symbol' is just an image, but many symbols/icons are appropriated in some way, they stand for something, they represent something. As you note a symbol may have other meanings, lets take the 'OK' symbol of connecting finger and thumb, now appropriated by white supremacy. This tainting cannot be easily undone. You may not like that a symbol you think should be inoffensive has become so - but that's the classic few spoiling it for the many. Therefore people should absolutely continue to be disgusted by the use of a symbol if it's common appropriation represents something more sinister which should rightly be opposed.

Also, using the symbol as an avatar is different to using it say in an Indiana Jones or Wolfenstein game - an avatar is a representation of you/your identity.

"It remains both sad and funny at the same time to see how the left-leaning people all over the world have so utterly failed to learn what kind of harm it does to label people" - I don't think you can pin this solely on the left. I think both sides are guilty of labelling - it's a childish conflict response - but certainly something the outgoing president has not held back on indulging in himself.

I have a vague memory of a short game based on the UK houses of parliament... but I forget its name.

Haggis, I've got this on again mate. I get the feeling this track spawned a thousand failed marriages. (laugh) I'm not crazy about the vocals, but the hook is quite catchy.

Loving that John Moreland...

Recently I've been listening to this...

Sorry to hear this, I didn't know him that well but he was a member of the AGS Cavefish group helping others finish their games. Seemed a really nice guy, adventure on Ghost.

It's been a long time since I did any AGS coding - but characters have idle views and speech views. Without seeing your code I wouldn't know which you've tried changing before the dialogue, but I would have thought you could change the character 'speech view' to a random number before the dialogue in question?

EDIT - to add clarity to the above - you would create a view for each speech animation, then prior to the dialogue starting you would generate a random number, which would set the character speech view to one of your various speech views.

Pop Canadian country, anyone? ... Hello? (laugh)

I dig it!!

I was just a little too young to fully appreciate the Big Seattle bands in the early 90s - but I was fortunate enough to see Soundgarden when they reformed at Hyde Park in 2012 and Pearl Jam a few years later in Milton Keynes. Chris Cornell's death felt weirdly close to home. Mark Lanegan is still making great music. Anyway... I'm dabbling in some development for the first time in years and need something lengthy and inspiring (and likely to make me pick my guitar up and play along badly) so...

I so lonely.

Edit: I see some Madrugada above! Good stuff, have you heard of Torgeir Waldemar - my current Norwegian of choice?

Your artwork is stunning, I can't imagine how long it takes to perfect each piece without any dip in quality.

Sorry for the news, some people in this world have no shame, but 100% agree with Stupot - at least it's done now, allowing you to focus purely on delivering what is certainly looking like a stand out game that a lot of us are looking forward to experiencing!

Site & Forum Reports / Re: Bug reports

It looks like there's a known bug with image links being broken.
Just in case there's two bugs here - my game https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2044/ has a broken primary image.
I tried to replace the broken image with a new one, however doing so generates multiple image deletion error messages and fails to complete.

[EDIT] Interestingly, it only appears broken on initial game page load - if I cycle between game screenshots and back to the 'primary' image, it will then load.

QuoteOh man, Haggis, I would've loved to play that Boosh game!

Thanks Rincewind, I think I still have some of the game assets somewhere, I'll try and dig them out... and Howard Moon will be the greatest Jazz player in Yorkshire once again.
