I'm the leader of Juggernaut Games. We were the ones working on Curse of the Pharaohs. Anyway, I'm sorry to say that the project is in fact(for now) dead. However, we are currently working on a create your own adventure for the ipod based on the old text adventure "Indiana Jones in the Revenge of the Ancients." You can check out our forums at Stolovitz.com. It's going to be under the Curse of the Pharaohs section. Thanks for your time.

PS. It's true, the CoS site hasn't been updated in about 2 years, and no new updates have been posted in months. However, if you check out the profile of the project leader, you'll see that he's been active in the past few days. I've been observing this for a while. In other words, CoS is obviously not dead.

A tribute to the greatest musicians that ever were. It's about 1 AM here, so I'm too tired to really post anything. Be sure to check back in the next few days.

Update - I'm a little overloaded with work, so I'm going to try and finish and post something in the next few hours. Check back soon.

---John, George, wherever you are, I hope you're giving God the concert of a lifetime!

Update: Closed. At least for now...

I have a fair collection LP's. Got some Beatles, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, and tons more. We used to have a lot more, but we moved, and in the process, through out a bunch.

If anyone knows where I can find a really cheap turn table, I'd love to listen to these.

Hey, I just had a very similar problem. After the first screen would show up, everything became black and it would just hang there. I took it to the IT guys at my school. They ran a bunch of tests on it throughout the day, and then came to the conclusion that the hard drive had died. They said that it happens pretty often, and all that's needed is to by a new hard drive.

If you do use this solution, check out a Circut City. Everything's cheap as dirt. I just bought 4 GB of ram for $60.00, as opposed to 1 GB at Staples for the same price.

Ps. If you do use Circut City, make sure you're talking to someone who actualy knows the field of computers. They sold me laptop ram and told me it was for a desktop. Thankfully, they allowed me to exchange it.

General Discussion / Fair Use Question
Wed 03/12/2008 04:53:04
I'm currently creating a Windows based parody similar to Windows RG (if you havn't seen it, here's the link. http://www.deanliou.com/WinRG/). Anyway, I'm thinking of using it for a technology fair for my school. Only problem is that unless given propper permission from the copyright holders, I can't submit anything copyrighted. Do you think that I can claim fair do to it being for educational purpouses? Aside from the use of the words "Microsoft," "Windows," and a very similar interface to "Windows" computers, I can't think of anything else that would cause any issues. This brings me to my next issue. Say that the fair use defense works. I'm hoping to have it posted on my website. Would Microsoft put up a fight, then? I don't want to have worked on it all, only to find out that after the tech fair, it all goes to waste.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I swear 100% that I was just about to make a topic about this. That's too weird.  :D

First I've switched the colormode to indexed - 255 colors. Then I've saved it as pcx.

And here's the .pcx:

It loads fine in DP2e, try for yourself ;)

What did you do to make indexed colors, Xnview, or another program? Can you walk me through what you did step by step? Thanks

QuoteWhen you export .pcx files for DP2e you must check 8bit colour. DP can't handle images with more than 256 colors.

You misunderstand. I'm trying to convert .png to .pcx to work with DP2e. I successfully mannaged to convert it to .iff with XnView (google it), and made it so that it would work with DP2 (non-enhanced). To do this, I put the .png into Photoshop and set the settings to "indexed color." I then converted it with XnView to .iff, and it worked fine with DP2 (non-enhanced). However, if I try and do the same, except convert the picture to .pcx or .lbm, and then try and open it with DP2e, it says "Can't open file." Even if I convert the orrigional .iff from DP2 (non-enhanced), it still won't work. Any suggestions?

By the way, I followed ProgZmax's advise and checked out the other thread about paint programs. Sure enough, DP4 was listed there, along with a download link. I experience the same exact problems with that as I did with DP2e.

EDIT: quoted it properly!

I've finally figured out how to use gradients in DP2 (non-enhanced). Thanks for all the help everyone. You have no idea how long I've been trying to figure it out. Anyway, just because I know how to do it with DP@ (non-enhanced), I'd still like to figure out what my problem is with DP2e. As I stated earlier, it won't read any of the files that are converted to .pcx, .iff. lbm, or anything of the sort. Using DP2e would be much easier, because I'm following tutorials (such as those found at AmberfishArts) for DP2e, and can't find any of the sort for (non-enhanced).

Come on, google: "deluxe paint 2"   ::)
it's in the first three entries

I'm having the same problem I had the first time I owned the deluxe version. It downloads and runs, but I can't open any saved file. When I use the convert program that comes with it, it creates the file, but it's file size always turns out to be 0kb. If I use another converter that I found, it still won't read it. The strange thing is that I never had this problem with DP2 (non-enhanced). I just couldn't figure out how to use gradients with it. Can someone possibly explain how to do this?

Keep them comming guys  ;D. Also, if anyone has a copy of DPIIe, can you tell me where to get a copy? That would probably work best, because I'm not only was it the actual program that Lucasarts used, I'm not wanting to buy Pro-Motion.

Does anyone know how to use gradients in DPII (non-enhanced)? I'm trying to make backgrounds similar to "Last Crusade," but I can't figure out how to do what I need. Bassicly, I'm using the "Crown of Solomon" tutorial. The only problem is that I don't have the enhaced version. I mannaged to find a copy of it, but it wasn't able to open any saved files. Can someone help me with this?

Yes, that's right. We're actually considering making a sequel to "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." Of course, two people can't do this on their own, so we're asking you, our fellow Indy fans for help. Without any further ado, here's what we're asking.

We are two amateur programmers looking for two artists to help design sprites, backgrounds, and all other artistic, game related images. Images must be of the same format as the original "last Crusade." If you would like to apply, please submit an image that you've created of an office or classroom of Barnet College (where Indy teaches) to JuggernautGames@gmail.com. Also, please note that you must sign all rights to Juggernaut Games, Co. ,which is the "company" you will be working for.

We're also looking for some people to help us write the storyline. If you're interested in doing that, you can also send an email, and we'll make sure to contact you.

Please note that while we are currently only looking for two artists and a storyline writer at the moment, we may (and most likely) be asking for new recruits later on. We may need more programmers, artists, translators, etc. We'll keep you posted.

Before I forget to mention it, here's our website Juggernaut.Stolovitz.com. See you there!
