Hello everyone!

It's been a long while since I came back to the AGS forums. Lots of stuff happened that shifted my focus onto other work projects. It put a damper on the development of my AGS game "Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze" even though I wasn't that far from finishing it.

And it's DONE!

I eventually got help from colleagues in Aurora Game Studio and the publisher Pix'n Love to resume the work. However there was a prerequisite that the game had to be ported to Unity. This is why I'm posting about it here, instead of dusting off the original thread which is more reserved for AGS only games. I was not sure if I should have necro-posted either after almost 10 years.

The game is now on pre-order for a release the 24th March, on
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1491660/Nefastos_Misadventure_Meeting_Noeroze/
and Nintendo eShop for the Switch: https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/nefastos-misadventure-meeting-noeroze-switch/

Pix'n Love also has a limited physical edition on their website for pre-order as well.

So I wished to share the news here. Members of the AGS community who playtested the AGS version of the game were a great help while it was actively worked on back then.

Hope to come back with another Adventure game project now that this one is behind me.

I'm attesting on the endless loading, on pure Firefox when using uBlock adblocker. It comes from a Javascript or something local to www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk that seems to try endlessly to access something 1k times a second at most.
Checking the console with F12, "jquery.markitup.js" looks like to be softlocked. EDIT: Apparently it depends, so maybe not the one responsible.

As I was finishing writing this, uBlock blocked the queries 124k+ times.

EDIT : Ah ! I just discovered that when the site is whitelisted, the Facebook button at the top appears; when not whitelisted, the Facebook button is not appearing, and any page on the website is endlessly loading, sometimes eating a lot of bandwith. Not sure if related.

Booked flight, filled the application form, only the accomodation is left, and I'm good to come this year as well!

... That guy is amazing and brilliant to work with:)

And pretty handsome too! o3o

More seriously though. As Grim said, I mostly do the animations in After Effects. If all goes well for this year's edition of AdventureX, I might do a panel presentation on some of my animation techniques I used for this game. But I'm not making any promises yet. =D

Great trailer! Curious to see the game out and see how the story unfolds.

I had a really great time this year again. Great people to talk to, great games (for the ones I had the time to play). I can't wait for next year to come back again!

I had a field trip doing the animations and the character designs. And more is on their way.

It's nice to see how the game is shaping up.

Yes!

The flight has been booked way before the official thread was online. I has become a tradition for me to attend. I hope to exhibit new stuff in my game (and not stammer like I did last time). And I will try to invite a friend to exhibit his game as well. Maybe two friends.

I'm still considering of doing a panel about sprite animations using After Effect, but that'll depend on how my fluency has improved.

Yay! I got 4 votes! Also thank you WHAM for yours, and of course the other 3!

Congratulations for the finalists!

As much as many comedians say, it's easier to make people sad than to make them laugh. I guess it's because our brain is hardwired to expect the worst in life. Thus it recognizes sad, grim or dark symbols and patterns more efficiently in a work of fiction than the happy ones. So it doesn't need a lot of story development to convey sad, grim feelings.

Also a 55-word comedic story we could technically call it a joke. Since writing a good one can be hit or miss, and is extremely subjective depending on the reader's education and background. Kudos to the writers who manage to pull it off. =P

But-but-but... I love sesquipedalian loquaciousness!

Like presenting with a sequence of compressed and depressed air in high frequency my abstract feeling of welcome about the current daytime cycle as saying "Hello"!

Anyway. Challenge accepted.

"Do not feel offended by what people say, feel offended by what people mean."

Truth.

And if I might add something that also helped me :

"Don't look for meanings that never existed in the first place."

When I voice my opinion I know plenty of people will roll their eyes and think "Pfffft, feminism." and switch off,...

Or other plenty of people look at the rhetorical land mines, logical fallacies, oversimplifications, "all-put-in-the-same-bag" generalisations, out of context arguments that feel like picked from the Internet, all mixed with perfectly good points - not always relevant, but good nonetheless -  in one mass of text, that makes it difficult and time consuming to dissect down what's right from what's wrong and vice versa, and then nearly impossible to make a fairly understandable counter-argument that doesn't create further misunderstandings; prompting those same people to say to themselves with a desperate sigh, "Not gonna touch this one. Let's just agree with it and call it a day."

That isn't healthy dialogue, in my humble opinion.

This post is a parenthesis about jokes with a joke :

Werner Heisenberg, Kurt Gödel, and Noam Chomsky walk into a bar. Heisenberg turns to the other two and says, "Clearly this is a joke, but how can we figure it out if it's funny or not?" Gödel replies, "We can't know that because we're inside the joke." Chomsky says, "Of course it's funny. You're just telling it wrong."

I feel like an outcast. Why do always people hop in a trendy bandwagon without me? I want to be offended too!

Duals, put button up shirts in the next build for the next Awards! I don't care if I'm the only one. Those things are disgusting!

Well. To be fair. He has the right to be offended about the weight this thread has put on the lesbians issue as much as the ones who had the right to be offended about the jokes around said lesbians during the ceremony.

Congratulations to all the winners! That was a fun and original ceremony. And the first one I attended.

I'll be back for next year! Haha!

Congratulations to all the nominees! This year looks interesting and varied!

If the demo was released in 2013, it can compete for the Best Demo Award in 2013.  I may be missing something in your question if that's not the answer.

Thanks. That makes it clear.
