Of course, I forgot my "no directlinking!"-server thingy...

Hello folks!

As you moght have noticed, I have started quite a few games already, but I won't bore you with a list and comments. This is the main character of an RPG I'm working on. I want some good old C&C about how I made her.

I prefer to keep the main body shape this way (or else I'll have to adapt my sprite bases, which is a nightmare to me), but I won't bite if it's no good.

Well,
here she is.

I'm awaiting your reply!

Erh... Akumayo... the link doesn't work...^.^'

EDIT: oops! it just was a long load...  ;D'

I'll try this out when I have the time and recources to do so. I always ask questions ahead so I don't get frustrated because I have to wait too long for an answer (I'm not impatient, and not in denial! :=).

You're right about that... :P

I agree on Nikolas, it looks fine.

edit: of course I meant the composition
#146
It looks typically AGS! :P

But I'd make the cup or the background of the text version a bit brighter. (sorry for not posting this in the C&C board... :=)

I definitly want to win such a trophey one day. *curses exams which do not allow her to enter MAGS*

Can you describe what you mean by your character "dying"? Has he got Health or something? If so, are you sure you didn't put anything silly in the interaction editor/script?
If not, try explaining the problem a bit more.

It would be a nice idea, giving (pixel?) trophies to the MAGS winners. Of course they need to be a little unique so nobody can alter them easily...

One question: why the beams in front o fthe door?

I like this background! But I do have C&C:

- Try adding little pieces of grass, so id doesn't look like the building stands on a big weird balloon. Maybe some flowers will be nice too.
- Improve the mountains, they look weird.
- Add clouds, more colours in the sky and a sun.
- Try adding a little more texture to the tree.
- Some stones wouldn't hurt either, but those can be left out easily.

But I really love the building and the bush in the front!

Have you already tried turning Anti-Glide mode on/off? If not, try it. My experience is: no anti-glide, weird movement.

Hello,

For my RPG, I'm also working with accuracy, so your attack could miss. In general I thought of 95% chance to get hit, 5% chance to deal no damage.

I know this can be done with bools, but how do I make it depend on percents what the outcome is?

if you wants to make a shooting game where you shoot wizards, standing on a flying car with cows singing next to you, to save "The Blue Cup" thats ok...... :P

Why can't I think of sich a brilliant idea... >.<

This time I also want to enter, but I MUST (must again, yes) get some assignments done, or I can't do my exams this year (2 subjects, I want to get rid of them. It's complicated).

Thanks! I really appreciate this!

Now I can finally get into scripting seriously. *grins evily* 8)

Hello folks,

I have a question:

What are strings, vars and ints exactly? For what functions are they used? I never got what they resemble, but since I'm using AGS and programme my own game, I'm very interested in how I use them. I just can't get what they mean. ??? >.<*

I'd like a description of every function and how to apply it in a script.

For now I'm forced to use invisible inventory items to trigger events, and I'm sure there is a better way of triggering. So...

Sorry is this sounds very n00b, but I really want to know what/how/why.

That's exactly what I meant, Ashen.

I also want to do the same as KingMick and use different .ags files as expansions.

The problem with the "Can I make an RPG"-thread is that it takes quite a while to find what you look for. That's why I always try to make different threads for stuff which can be used for Adventure games also. (That's no problem, right...? 8) RIGHT? :'()

This is a very good idea! ^.^ I'd really love to play a game made this way at least once.

Does anyone mind if I use that in one of my own games? (I'm planning an RPG game in which you can travel between worlds.)

Some questions (answers per situation please):

Question 1: How do you do quests if you want one world (let's say it's called Gnome Land) to have a quest in which you need to go to another world (Candy Yard Land)?
Situation 1: You have downloaded both worlds, which means you can play both.
Situation 2: You have downloaded one world (Gnome Land), but not the other. You want a message to pop-up the required gameworld isn't available to do the quest (required gamefile(s)).
How do I do this?

Question 2: If my game is an RPG, how do I keep the stats of the characters I've build up?

Thanks in advance,

~Yurina

If you hold your mouse over the pictures, a little white box will pop-up with a description... 8)

I think mr.kite wants everything in one big .exe which runs (and doesn't install) the game.
apt88 probably has problems with OSes or something. Maybe it's not how you burn the cd, apt88, but something else.

mouse.mode can be used for your problem. Since I don't have a full code, I'd suggest opening the default (not empty) gametemplate and get the code from the e.g. look mode button. Easy as pie!

(and obvius needs to be obvious :P)
