I assume that you want a perky GANBARI NO GANBARI style, eh?
It looks good-- but:
I react on that the far off arm moves alot more than the close one. Both the elbow poke backwards and the fist thrust forward goes further, which makes the whole thing seem weird. I suggest you measure how far from the bodylines the close arm move, and adjust the far arm according. ;)

Thanks, Maltjik. I didn't notice that. I'll correct it right away.

Wonderful! And if you have anything else to give to us game makers, go ahead and throw it in here:

Our Contribution thread.

Hold on, it's not finished yet! But when it is, I'll drop it at the contribution thread.

His right hand should be more loose and why does he bend the elbow when he steps? Better remove the elbow and it'll look better.

Again, I didn't notice...  ;D'

Critics' Lounge / Chibi base walkcycle for C&C
Fri 26/05/2006 20:50:19
Hi all,

This time, I made a base of a chibi character. It's a recource character, so if you think it looks good, you may use it yourself.

This is the walkcycle from the right:

Thanks in advance,

Babarians code should work, but myself... I had problems with the "On any click" part... maybe there's a bug?

This doesn't really add, but I thought it might be helpful for Wonko...

Hi all,

I finally downloaded a musicprogram which I like (Noteworthy composer). After some minutes full of confusion I cooked this up:

A titlescreen midi!

It's made for using in titlescreens mainly, but I don't know or it is any good...

Some good old C&C is appreciated!

Hi all,

well forget about the games I posted thus far, this is the only project I will (99,9999999% sure) continue.

Brief info:
Name: none yet
Type of game: RPG
Genre: Fantasy

I need:
- a bg-artist: to help me clean up my (cutscene and tiled)backgrounds.
- a musician
- maybe other team members as well, I don't know yet...

If you're interested in this game, PM me (no screens, but I do have a backgroundsketch).

~Yurina

EDIT: Read the recent post!!!

General Discussion / Re: Music Programs

I almost forgot: I have nothing except a computer to make music. No electric instruments, no mizing panel for dj's, nothing. Does this matter a lot?

General Discussion / Re: Music Programs

Well, I once used a trial version of MIDI maker which I liked a lot. But it's not for free (too bad).

Myself, I'm looking for a program (free or buying doesn't matter) that features arrangements for making mp3's and wav's (ogg's aren't necissary, but nice) or a program that allows you to make your own music by selecting notes (correct English?) and selecting an instrument to play them.
The style I'd love is Rock/New Age/Classical or one/more of these mixed with other styles.

I really want to get into making music since it's hard to get a musician found when making games. And yes, I do prefer mp3/wav/ogg above midi.

Thanks in advance,

How is it even possible to get AGS games on a handheld or a tv-console? I don't have a clue... (or did I get this all wrong?)

Anyways, I don't think I'll ever get a handheld other than the GameBoy Advance. I didn't get one yet, but since I have a GameCube, a linkcable and GBA compatible games, it might be fun. But I highly doubt the GBA can handle AGS games unless very good programmed.

This site is fantastic!

I can't download for now (I'm at school...) but when I'm home I'll try some modules and plugin's out.

A suggestion...: State which version of AGS is required to run the module/template. This is to avoid scripting problems and incompatible options.

... and a question: Do you also have plans of other sections? Maybe Tutorials would be a nice addition. I'd also love links to sites with free graphics on it...

Good work!

I don't care, it's beautiful!

And sketchy isn't always ugly. In fact, I like some pictures even more when they are sketchy!

In one word: gorgious! :D

I like this guy a lot! ;D If your games also look like this, I can't wait to play them!

Hi everybody,

Some of you already know me a bit, but I still haven't posted in here, even though I'm able to help you out with your games:

Character art: I love making characters a lot. My specialty is manga, but I can do realistic stuff too.

Story design: I have these itchy brains who keep making stories all the time. Just give me a few pointers and I'll pull up something nice.

Play testing: If I have spare time, I'd love to test games/modules/plug-ins/templates.

Website design: I have made a ton of websites. They've all been personal sites, and most are down, but I can send some links/off-line (in other words: not uploaded) examples if you wish to.

Backgrounds: I can only do tiled and simple perspective bg's. It's not very good quality, but if you make a quick game/a game where bg's don't have to be perfect I can help.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Problem with profile
Wed 17/05/2006 08:02:29
Some points for improvement:

Side view (facing east):
- You should let the chin stick out a little more.
- Make the nose a little smaller
- His right leg seems a bit off. Does he step forward? If not, change this.

Front view:
- Place his legs and arms a bit closer to eachother.
- his hair is a bit wild. if it's intented to fall straight without curls, make them fall closer to his head.

Always try checking simple things you might have overlooked first. I run into a lot of problems like these which are really simple to solve, but hard to think about.

Glad I could help! ;D

Maybe you should check for which AGS version the plugin is made, and which AGS version you are using. Since version 2.7 of AGS the coding changed a lot, so that may be causing problems.

Try to use the module instead, if this is the problem.

Well, I WOULD comment it if the image link wasn't broken... Did you make a typo?

I can't wait for the plug-ins now I know the details involving them. Especially the AGS Particle editor will come in handy since I make RPG's mostly with AGS. Also the iMuse sounds interesting, maybe I'll try my hands on that too (but I can't make music myself...)

I'm glad the game is with a bit humour, that always makes me feel more comfortable playing a game.

My first simple suggestion about the width of the GUI: did you check the import for 640x400 option when you imported the sprite? If you didn't, you will get a 640x480 game with sprites which use 4 pixels (in a square shape) as one. Maybe you didn't even change the resolution also. If this isn't the problem with the graphics, I can't help. (Simple answers are always the best.)

KhrisMUC is right about the templates, the most are outdated. You'd better download graphics and ask around for codes yourself. It also helps if you state your AGS version in your signature, personal text, posts and/or PM's (like I did) so people don't make mistakes with which codes to give to you.

Good luck with your game!

Beginners' Technical Questions / Re: mmorpgs
Sat 13/05/2006 15:55:49
This question has been answered a LOT of times, and the answer is simply (since the plug-in is hard to use): NO!

Although I'm sure someone could succeed in this someday, for now it isn't possible.
