tapatalk is now installed, and seems to work fine on my tablet.

DESC is a MySQL keyword, so that wouldn't work. n00b!!!

Ahem.  Could search the description field to find mentions of OROW or MAGS, yes.  Although then you have to take into account mentions of 'One Room, One Week' and 'One Room One Week' too of course.  Easily done, but I can't guarantee it'd be complete.

I got hit Hitman: Absolution for 4.99 euro, that offer was too good for me not to give in. I loved all Hitman games prior to Absolution and while I know that it's quite a bit different, I still want to own it and give it a try, see how I like it.

Currently replaying this actually.  It's such a good game.  Quite different from the others, but that's not a bad thing.  Much better stealth mechanics.

Images should be fixed now - people have the option to link to up to three images, and they will be automatically mirrored locally.  I've tested it out, but if someone wants to take the opportunity to upload two more screenshots to their game that'd be helpful.

The simple reason is that OROW didn't exist when the database was designed.  If someone can give me a full list of OROW games (ideally IDs, don't care about the names) that are in the database, I could make a new category.

I agree that MAGS does kind of mean something very specific though (like OROW), and should probably stay separate, much as it may clutter things up.  I could put a pop up giving fuller explanation of what every game type means though.

Okay, users now have the option to specify their own game lengths on the add and edit pages.  Panel members and staff can still change it if they really want to, but this should at least stop the backlog getting any bigger.

Changing the MAGS ones would be more complicated.  If there are some games in the database with the 'MAGS' ID that may not be adventures, I can't safely set all 'MAGS' IDs to 'Short Game'.

I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.  I have started downloading various Android adventure games, since I now have an appropriate device on which to comfortably play them (as opposed to the tiny 4" screen of my phone).  Currently enjoying the extra intro to Broken Sword 1 Director's Cut.

Oh, and various books, pants and socks, DVDs.  Usual Christmas stuffs.

I think I meant to do this at some point.  Will do.

Not enough interesting new games have been released since the summer to make it worth buying anything.  Spent ten minutes flicking through, but couple find anything I wanted I didn't already own in hard copy.

I did try to go through a while ago, to see if I could find the EZboard accounts of various AGS people, to work out the regdates.  I found some, but unfortunately that information doesn't seem to exist anymore since EZboard changed hands recently.

Mine was 01 August 2001, that I do remember.
#1171
Incorrect.  People had to register on the new forums again, and CJ set their regdate as 'imported from EZBoard' manually.  Nothing was imported, no users, no posts, nothin'!

Ol' Ma Jones doesn't approve of AGS.  Hence Chris's no longer being a part of it.

Enough image macros, or this thread will be moved to the Rumpus Room >:(

Also these aren't the first forums.  Oranges is a relative newbie.  Gilbert and RobertEric (no longer around) were on the old old (pre EZBoard) forums.

Charles Cecil officially revealed that adventure games are no longer dead at AdventureX.

adventuregamestudio.co.uk, however, is.

Yeah well, make a userscript to fix it if it bothers you that much!  I'll sort it out when I can.

When you've been told repeatedly not to do it, it is.  Stop.

I'm trying to install that tapatalk thing people going on about, but it's not going well.  This was apparently a consequence.  It'll be sorted eventually.

Now go through and tag all the people in all the photos.  Good luck!

Oh yeah, and thanks to everyone who came, especially those who were able to contribute in whatever way.  Without you guys it would just be the four stood in a room.
