Joy, I hope this would help:

- To quit the game just press (ALT+F4) or (ALT+X) or (F9) then click on exit.
- To save the game just press (F5).
- To load/restore the game press (F7) or (F9) then click on restore.

Have good time playing :) If you get stuck let me know, I have wrote a walkthru of the game, so everything is covered.

Alla, When clicking over an object or anything hold down the mouse button, don't just click once, keep holding down the mouse button until the coin interface shows up ... Then you'll see three symbols inside of a coin shape:

- The Hand: Use it to Interact/Pickup objects or items or hotspots.
- The Mouth: Use it to Talk/Listen objects or items or hotspots.
- The Eye: Use it to Look At objects or items or hotspots.

As for the solution of the first puzzle (ACT 1) here goes:

Spoiler

(Getting the barrel off your back)

If you look at the barrel you'll notice that there is a small scratch in the upper metal stripe, yet it's not sharp enough to cut the rope. Looking at the inventory you have a ring, now face the door to the right and then USE the Ring with the Barrel.

It's time now to cut the rope using the scratch that you made, so face the Broken Mirror â€"a quick way for doing that is TALKING to the Broken Mirror-, once facing it USE the Rope.

Have good time playing through the rest of the game,

Kediri, here goes:

Spoiler

(Writing the warning letter to the Sultan)

You have a feather and a Scrap Of Paper but you are out of ink, and so you can't write a letter unless you find some sort of liquid that would work as ink! Have you looked closely at the Scrap Of Paper you found in the enchanted chest! It looks like it's written in blood.

There is an open grave in the Land of the Wicked Shrines, and that is the Lucas Arse one, which implies that the body is still fresh! USE the Pin with Lucas Arse, and you'll get some blood out of his body, USE the Feather with Lucas Arse blood filled body and you'll make it full of blood, in the inventory screen USE the Feather with Scrap Of Paper to write a warning letter to the Sultan in blood.

I'm sure that helped :)

Thanks a lot Babar,

I'm so delighted to see more people enjoying the game and thinking it's "great" ...

Out of all the great and encouraging feedback I got, one review of the game made me extremely happy and that's a review by the great and beloved Geoffkhan creator of Apprentice I and II.

Not only Geoffkhan have liked my game! But also said that it's a must-play.

Baber, your suggestions will surely make it to the updated version of the game which I'll be releasing soon -maybe next week-.

Tina,

Here is how you do it -I liked the idea about stabbing him in the arse though-

Spoiler

Throwing the Applear on Shnigle won't work because Shnigle would come down and check for you, and you'll end up tied again once he catches you.

To capture Shnigle, go back to the storage room using the window. The Ladder is the only way down to this area, and Shnigle will use the Ladder if he is going to go down and search for you, why don't you make a little trap for him. USE the Knot that is located at the right side of the Ladder â€"it's small so try hard to find it- our hero will tell you that it's so tight that you can't loosen or cut it with you bare hands. USE the Sticky Mirror with the Knot to cut the Knot. Now that the ladder is trapped go back to ship's side and at the right time THROW the Applear on Shnigle. Watch the nice cut-scene.

I have a question about the 'scenes' by this do you mean three backgrounds, or do mean is in acts like Act1 etc. The latter would take a lot of work.

Three backgrounds not acts.

BorisZ: and how is that!

Spoiler

Tom's diary clearly says: "… once when overseeing the whole place"
Tom decided to keep his secret for himself.

It's really an act of logic to go to the ONLY place that is actually an oversee cliff and dig it a few times. Besides the words written above aren't part of a thousand books page, they are there clearly to give the player a hint.

Now guessing is what anybody who's out of clues and can't find any logical link would do. Maybe that puzzle was hard for some, but I know many who enjoyed it and ones that solved it.

Also if you can't solve this puzzle then nobody is asking you to, you still can finish the game and live with Ena happily ever after. -I would enjoy that for sure-

So if you think that to get to the alternate ending you need 'guessing' then read the spoiler above again.

BorisZ, good luck in your October MAGS entry, I hope that you win this time.

Mmmm, I don't see that as a great idea at all ...

Besides guessing is not acceptable in an adventure game.

Alright people here it is, the logical steps that would lead to the solution of the final puzzle -so that one can see the alternate "happy" end-.

Spoiler

(Talk to Ena)
Ask her about the way out of here, she'll tell you that Steve Winter
once said something about a map

(Dig Steve Winter Grave)
When you read Steve's diary it'll say something about knowing a friend
that once held a map to this place and didn't trust people, it says
that his initials were T.O.

(Dig Tom O. Grave)
When you read Tom's diary it'll say something about his two friends,
and it also say thatÃ,  "… once when overseeing the whole place"
Tom decided to keep his secret for himself.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a small bug in the game which will be fixed in the next update, so before proceeding to find the working map you should have at least one of the fake maps. Take on by digging Riggy Rig Suffer grave or Jimmy the Shnug grave.

Now, where is the place that oversees the whole area! It's the small
area in which you have landed at the beginning of ACT3
, go there -by
going back through the mountains path-, and dig the edges of that area
[[/b]](near the left upper corner of that area)[/b], after a few clicks
you'll find the map … Congratulations!

Fribbi AGDI joker,

What problem do you excatly have? If you are talking about not being able to get to the happy end then that is NOT a problem, it's just that you were not able to solve the final puzzle ... yet you solved the whole game.

Check your PM so that you have the alternate ending :)

SHE DEVIL Check your PM, I've sent you the solution to the happy end!

I think Goot was the only one that almost got to the happy end on his own :) So congratulations ... Maybe next week I'll be making a walkthru for the game (Myabe in UHS format as well as text); the walkthru will include the solution to get to the happy end.

SHE DEVIL,

Here is how you do it:

Spoiler

After making the scratch with the ring you need to be facing the broken mirror in the back of the room so that the rope is exactly centered at the scratch, an easy appoach for doing so -facing the mirror- is by TALKING to the broken mirror, as doing so will make the hero face the back of the room. Then use the hand icon with the ROPE ...

Let me know if that didn't work, or if you got stuck again!

Wooohoooooo I won :)

Thanks everybody for voting for my game, it's really great to see that a lot of people have enjoyed playing A Tale Of Betrayal and even better voted for it :)

Out of all the great and encouraging feedback I got, one review of the game made me extremely happy and that's a review by the great and beloved Geoffkhan creator of Apprentice I and II.

Not only Geoffkhan have played my game! But also said that it's a must-play.

Again, thanks for your votes, and hopefully we'll meet again in a next tale, not necessarily a MAGS entry, maybe a full length game!

I also want to thank Klaus for all of the time and effort he's putting into this, he's just great, and of course C.J. for the wonderful AGS.

I already have sent the rules and guidelines of the October MAGS, it's only a matter of time until Klaus update the MAGS website and create a new MAGS thread for it.

We'll meet again,

Thanks for your review of the game Sinitrena, I'm glad to see more people enjoying their time by playing the game.

As for the happy end, check you PM.

Spoiler

James Hetfield grave was actually an easter egg, James Hetfield is Metallica's -a heavy metal band- vocalist, and in one of Metallica's songs -Wherever I May Roam- he says "Curved upon my stone, where I lay my head is home ...". Now If you look at the grave's stone for James Hetfield it will say "Where I lay my head is home" ...

hamish20 ...

Spoiler

Have you tried to pick up the shovel! If not then pick it up and use it for digging out other graves!-Ã,  If you have already did that then read next ...

Spoiler

In each one of the graves you'll find some important object or fact that you can use in order to let the Sultan know that someone will try to kill him soon.

Start out by diggin Marlyin Monroe grave, you'll notice that the player will say that it is hot -of course ;)-, now since you need the egg to hatch to be able to send a message with the dragon to the king, put the egg into her grave, the egg withh hatch! Now in your inventory look at the Dragon and this will tell you what you need to be doing in order to prepare the message to the Sultan.

Hi Yvonne,

Assuming that the email you entered when you posted is correct (y1101@lycos.com), I've sent you an email with the solution :)

I'm glad you played the game 'till the end.

Just a small comment, why do I hear people saying they are STUCk! you are not stuck, you just didn't get to the happy end, still you did actually finish the game :) so you are not stuck, you just didn't get to the happy end.

Thanks again for your interest in the game, I hope you liked it. :)
