Sorry for the intrusion, but I need to say that ProgZmax has done a really great work!

And that popped in my mind this phrase: "It is not dead which can eternal lye, but with strange eons, even death may die." H.P.Lovecraft.

This can become a marvelous game, really.

I found the puzzles very challenging, even if now I couldn't say if they're logical or not. I must confess that I'm stuck, and I arrived at the point where I tried everything on everything, with no result (of course I missed something). It's the first time I find so much trouble finishing a game.

So:
Spoiler
I've got the pen, the pencil case, the lighter, the broken walkman and the duct tape. What the hell should I do know? (Just a little help, please, don't spoil me all the game)

Fascinating plot, not so good realisation, though.

I value the entertainment more than the graphics, but those are really mediocre. Anyway you balance those with that great soundtrack, that really helps creating the right atmosphere.

So, the game is nice, maybe too simple, and with very few possible interactions with the house. Also, I found the death of Dr. Kur rather funny!
I simply love the bear ghost, and the twins, too!

And the theories of Dr. Kur, uhmmm, very interesting... I will check them personally...

Undoubtedly a superior quality game. The chars and setting are very funny, and well drawn, the animations are good. The sounds are not, unfortunately.
But the story and puzzles are okay, even original in same cases.

One thing I was disappointed by, are the bugs. Here's a list:

-When you read the Bible (and probably also do something else) outside the prison window, the char is displayed in front of that, flying in the air, and with his head out of the upper part of the screen.

-If you look the guard after putting his head into the WC, he raises up, saying something, and then dives his head again into that shit. Very funny bug, though.

-In the intro, in the book you wrote "Silnt Knight" instead of "Silent Knight".

-When looking outside the prison window, looking the water, it says: "I can't believe I'll be walking in that" or something similar. But at that point of the game, who knows that you're going to walk in the sewers?

-The water from the sewers doesn't fall down, it reaches the end of the tunnel and then stops. You should add a waterfall.

- You use the
Spoiler
shower pole on the magnet, to make it longer, but when you use it on the dish, the animation shows that the char doesn't even put the tool through the bars. Then he could have simply used the magnet alone.

-The bug that causes some interaction to fail, is very annoying, and very weird, too. You must absolutely try to fix it.

-When you use the key on the door n.102, the char says, more or less "It's not the right key, anyway, the door is already unlocked". But that's not true! That door is not and never will be unlocked!

I think this is all. Hope I've been useful.

And sincere congratulations for the great game.

One of the most admirable things in this game is the scripting, altough it features nice graphics, nice sound effects, and a GREAT base idea!

Really, really original, and, I must say, the best "escape from school" game ever!

The only thing is that I don't understand which is the age of the characters. The look about 7-8 years old, and they smoke cigarettes?

Anyway Fmarais, Rui's idea reminds me more of the "6th Sense" than "the Others".
Good idea, anyway.

Sorry, guys, but when I answered I wrote "Nason" instead of "Mason". Of course the series name is "Perry Mason".  ;D

Anyway, both Stuh and Shabutie are right. Maybe I'll choose "Nasalson", or I will give a different title for the english version, or just leave it unchanged (with some explanations in the manual).
In truth, not so many char names are translated in Italy (I' m thinking of Tony Tough, for example, which could have been translated as "Antonio Forte" but with a poor result): but in this case, some adjustement is necessary for humouristic purposes.

An idea for an alternative title can be (the original one is "Perry Nason e il mistero del cavaliere" -> english translation "Perry xxxxx and the mistery of the knight". The knight being Italian President Berlusconi):

"Perry Nason in: Nonsense (or Nose-sense?)" which catches some of the humour and (probably) links "Nason" with "Nose".

Thanks for the help (for now).

It definitely worked! Thanks Gilbot and Chicky. And now, please, feel free to destroy my work with your critiques!  ;D

QuoteAnyway, I noticed only now that I posted an old image, in fact the borderlines and the background look weird

QuoteThe character looks pretty good, but I think he needs to be redrawn, or at least have the border edges cleaned up a lot, because all of the lines are blurred
.

QuoteI think the blurred outlines were only caused by the JPEG compression

Gilbot is right. I thought I posted an old image, but then I checked and this is not true. The problem is the JPEG compression, as my original BMP image isn't blurred at all. But I thought (and maybe I'm right) that just JPEG images are postable, so I converted it.

QuotePerry Nasalson
Do you think someone will understand the similarity with Perry Mason?

QuoteThe name sounds pretty good to me, I like Perry Mason

Ehrm... Stuh, "Perry Nason" is the original name from the tv-series (maybe not so famous as I thought. They're about a lawyer, which also investigates...). So, I can't use it. And I wanted to make a joke about the nose, so I called him "Nason".

Maybe, just "Perry Nasal"? Does "Nasal" mean anything in english?

Other suggestions?

Thanks Yakspit! Anyway probably, applying those filters will be the only thing I'll do on the BG, since I lost the previous versions of the image, and now it's difficult to adjust the floor and the stairs.
But I'll keep in mind all your useful suggestions, for the next BGs.

Thanks again to all!

I can't download neither "Sol" nor "The Crown of Gold". Maybe the link is broken? Is there another place where I can find those?

Oh, and (even if this problem seems just mine) I can't download "No Action  Jackson" too.
#252
In fact, Yes!  ;D
#253
Well, I agree with some points (That I didn't notice when I drew the BG):

- The floor lines perspective is wrong! It's different from the stairs perspective! How could I missed that? Anyway, removing the lines is not a solution, as an entirely pink marble surface as big, can't exist. But I surely can change the orientation of the lines. But then I've got to change the walls too, right?

-The scanned stuff don't fit too well. Yakspit, Where can I find the posterization filter? (Photoshop, I suppose?)

-Gilbot, I must be honest. I find your stairs to go less high than mine, and the steps too many. But I caught your idea, anyway.

Thanks to all of you, for now.

With the standing animation (he smokes) the pipe looks ok.
Anyway, I noticed only now that I posted an old image, in fact the borderlines and the background look weird. But the char is more or less this.

Livorno (Leghorn), Toscana (Tuscany), Italia (Italy).

Livorno is the home of the Italian comunist party (PCI)!!!

A test with just two choices per answer can't be serious at all. Anyway I got this:

Your Brain is 26.67% Female, 73.33% Male

You have a total boy brain

Logical and detailed, you tend to look at the facts

And while your emotions do sway you sometimes...

You never like to get feelings too involved
#257
77%, not knowing how to use a gun! Anyway, it's quite a stupid test, I think.
You must have survived at least one zombie attack to write a decent test.
#258
I drew this char for the same game of the topic "BG: A rich man's house". I hope it fits the BG, and anyway I would like to know if it's decent enough.

he other problem I have, is the name. In the italian version, it will be "Perry Nason", which makes a reference to the tv-series "Perry Mason". In italian, "Nason" makes a joke about the nose, it can be translated "Big nose" in english. But then I lose the similarity with "Mason".
Any ideas on how to solve this?

edit: Now the image is PNG, and it looks a lot better.

I've done this for a game I'm making. I decided to stop ripping (or, at least, lower the percentage of ripped bg's in my game) and so I tried to do this.

The statues, pictures, vases are scanned images. The rest is original.

edit: Paintovers are welcome, especially if I can use them in the game!

Yes, the open drawers really look bad. I think you should rotate the central line of the drawer a bit (to the right) and the other line to the left.
Damn, my english makes it difficult for me to be clearer....
Let's see:

                            |                             |
                             |                             |
                              |                             |
                               |______________|

Mmhh... not so clear anyway.

Well, anyway the bg is quite good, apart from this.

P.S. To the left, are there stairs, or a blacony? If it's a balcony, the railing looks weird, if there are stairs, the wall colour is very strange.
