You're right, Viktor. I'll solve this in a later version (which I'm already working on).

I know it might sound strange for a game in the "completed game announcement", but I will need some good betatesters very soon, when I'll release the next version of this game. Should I ask here for them? Or should I put a post in the "games in production" forum?

P.S. Thanks Viktor for your kindness. And I haven't played your game, yet! I'll try to do this as soon as I can, I assure you. Anyway I haven't voted for any MARCH MAGS game, obviously.
#302
Yeah, all right. I can add a unique file too. Only I thought that having about half of my web space full for a short game, would have been unwise.
But you're right, thanks for interesting in the whole partsof the game  ;)

Do you like it, anyway? ???

Potch:

Spoiler
Try to use your seven senses everywhere ("7" cursor)
[close]

Viktor: See Potch's spoiler (the one in her post, not in this one).

As you can see, I don't provide too much evident help, cause my gaming philosophy forbids me to. Anyway, I know how boring is to play a game for hours without going on. So, feel free to ask again if this post didn't solve your problem.

P.S. Some other opinions on the game? Bug report?

-Simon the Sorcerer 2 (budget CD version)
-Leisure Suit Larry 1 (Cd version)
-Leisure Suit Larry 1Ã,  VGA (Cd version)

-Leisure Suit Larry 3 (Cd version)
-Leisure Suit Larry 3 (budget floppy version)
-Leisure Suit Larry 5 (Cd version)
-Leisure Suit Larry 6 (Cd version)
-Leisure Suit Larry 7 (Cd version)

-King's Quest VII
-Fascination (Cd version)
-Future Wars (budget floppy version)
-Grim Fandango (CD version)
-Gobliiins 1 (CD version)

I don't mention how much of the other "cathegory" (not original) I've got, but they are about 4 times more.

Thanks! I'll do it as soon as I release a bug free version!

Actually, this should have been a secret....
I purposedly wrote the title wrong (Saint Seya) to keep the mistery!  ;D

Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Profile change

I don't want to seem too impatient, but, how do you change you're profile to show you released a game? Or is this automatic?

And, just to know, how do you put your game in the AGS games main page?
#308
Yeah, I can, but why should I? If one doesn't care for the Music Pack, why must he download it anyway (consider a 56 kbps user)?

For the Manual, I'll do it in the future, but it would be difficult to explain why I haven't done it before. So, PLEASE excuse me. And just click three times instead of one, to download all the files.

"just a minute after posting" edit:

I'm sorry Erik, I've been too harsh with you. Please believe me, I'm sincere. Simply explain me why it bothers you so much to download 3 files instead of one.

This is my entry for the March MAGS, THE 7TH SENSE.

Is based upon the Saint Seya anime. For any other information you could simply read the Manual.

Sorry, but I forgot to take screenshots: I will edit this post as soon as possible.

Resolution: 640X400
Music Pack available
AGS Version: 2.62

This game has been made in ten days, and it is my first attempt ever.
I would like a bit of feedback please, even if you want to offend me or pray me to never make a game again!

Hope you enjoy it!

Version 1.5 (and probably the last one) is now released!

New features:

-Custom SAVE, LOAD, QUIT, SKIP INTRO, MENU GUIs!
-New "what's under mouse cursor" GUI
-Custom cursor graphic
-New Manual, with a lot more infos
-Various bug fixes
-Various graphic changes and implementing
-Some different puzzle
-Some dialogue changes

I strongly recommend you to download the whole game in .ace format, cause it's slightly bigger than the .zip file and contains music, too. The reason for my decision to put .zip files too, is that not always people care for downloading WinAce just to unpack a game, while everyone has Winzip.

Downloads:

Whole Game (it's in ace format, use WinAce link below to be able to unpack it)
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=541

WinAce link (needed to unpack .ace files)
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194310.html

I also put the game in the AGS main site.

************************************************************

15th of March, 2005: Added an italian translation, and the italian manual, both in the .ace file, but also available separetely on my website.

To use the translation, simply put it in the game's folder, and choose the "Italiano translation" from the Winsetup.exe file.

************************************************************

10th of May, 2005: Due to problems on my website, now you can only download the .ace version of the game, complete with all the files, manuals, and translations.

The answer can't be given properly if not knowing what kind of game yours will be.

As Babar said, fight action sequences in the Indiana Jones games were great, and, most of all, well fitted, or I could say "required". Fighting well, there, could give a different approach to the game, but it was not necessary, cause almost all fights were avoidable with a good use of the tongue, or the mind.

I think this is a perfect example of how to implement a/s in an adventure game.

Anyway, funny and laughing games such MI and DOTT, don't need a/s at all.

Game's style is the problem, so.
#312
Yeah, Mugen is great. If you need to do a fighting fan game, it also offers chars to use.
I think that probably the "Digital Spell" is made so, and even a game of mine will be...
#313
The game sounds cool, but I need to say that the way the char fits with the background is HOOORRRRIBLE!

I suggest you to blur it a bit, at least. (but the problem is also her graphic style).
#314
Hey, I think I'm the first and second person to visit your website! Cool! (this fact, not your website).

Your site is poor and gives from none to very very few infos about your game. And since it has no screenshot, and neither has your post, it will bw locked soon.

You would have known, if you read the FORUM RULES:

1) you need to post at least two screenshots
2) you need a more explanatory introduction.

So, post again when you've got both.

(I was writing these before you posted Krazy... )

Bye Ã, :)

Not bad at all! You've improved your style quickly! Go on this fast and you'll draw very good chars.

Critics' Lounge / Re: First go at Painter

QuoteAFAIK, there's is a Navigator Window in Photoshop, al least 7 and CS both have one.

The fact is, stuh505 is NOT using Photoshop, from what I understand. I think he's using Painter, but I'm just guessing (look at the Thread title.....)
;)

Anyway, nice work, Stuh!

Yeah, it sucks, and also Prince of Persia Sands of Time, does, in my opinion. It could be a fabulous 3-D piece of art, but it has lost all the atmosphere of an Arabian Tale, and it's not realistic at all (while Prince 1 and 2 try to be quite realistic instead).

Anyway, She Devil, I'll send you a mail with the links.

edit: your e-mail address is hidden!

Thank you guys, even if like always happens, when I decide to ask help, then I solve it myself. In fact I finished the game yesterday, few hours after posting! Anyway, the 11 lifes matter ( I must say it's totally illogical!) was the problem. I had only 8 lives, cause in Prince 1, it was better to go fast than lose time for potions, and I thought the same for this one.

Anyway I still think it's better to go on with few lives, cause obtaining them from the spider's guards is easy instead (they're terribly weak, even if they don't give you a potion so often).

So, even if I noticed something strange when turning right and left, I just ended up dead without transforming (I think that this technique should have been explained clearly in the game, cause is absurd to find out yourself).

But anyway, thanks Radiant.

P.S. The ending is very short and, basically sucks.

P.P.S. SHE DEVIL, buy the game! Or make a search in the net (very easy search, too) :)
#319
I know Prince of Persia 2 is not an AGS game (uhmm... interesting idea...) but anyway I thought that some of you guys, could help me as well.

I'm playing the level with the big spider, the chess-board and, yes, Jaffar.
I absolutely don't know how to win. I also downloaded a walkthrough, but when I found the phrase "turn in Shadow Mode" I understood there is something I don't know. I haven't found anywhere how to activate this Mode (the Walktrough doesn't help).

Can you help me? (please)

I must say that the title screen looks very ugly, with graphic incoerences in char-background-stone head.

Luckily enough, the in-game screens look better.
Just try to explain the plot better, too.
