Ridiculous difficult puzzles, but the cutscenes always make me laugh, like pulling the pin and the Weasel.

And of course the Klaymen Shuffle is brilliant.

Really good game!

there's a complete tracklisting in the readme file with the game.

What readme file? I really want to know what some of those tracks were!

Reading that petition is hilarious. "They nerfed my class - get the Federal Trade Commission on the line!"

Yes: if 'Enable Debug Mode' in General Settings is set to True, then you can use the keycode Ctrl-X while testing your game to open a dialog box that will allow you to instantly warp to a chosen room.

Everything is dandy! Many thanks!

Remember that if you don't want to use a button, you can also use the player pressing Return as a trigger. The function that is called when this happens is OnActivate, and you'll find it in the Events List for your Text Box.

Well that seems like the major issue here; plus I don't see why people creating AGS games in languages other than English wouldn't see it as a boon to be able to translate the whole package.
#48
That's not what I'm asking.

This is a point, CJ... surely a foreign-language game is no good without a setup program in that same language. Would it be difficult to allow customisation of winsetup.exe with regards to language?
#50
Aw, don't say that. I always appreciate help.  :)

I doubt my game will be finished any time soon, so I'll just wait for the fix.

Thanks CJ!

I'm afraid this comic's high-brow humour has gone right over my head.

Whether script or property grid, it has the same effect. And yes I do want to bother fixing it.

EDIT: Look! I started a new game, and it's still doing it! It must be something in the editor! Look!

No, it doesn't seem to matter now that I've discovered it is happening in all my labels in all my GUIs. In a Display function, "text\[text" appears normally as "text[text", but in any GUI label it appears as

text\
text

And this is even before I've compiled - I can see it happen in the editor when I change the label's Text in the property grid. What on earth could be causing this?

As we all know the character [ formats a new line in strings. In one instance I want to use the character itself rather than a new line. I understand the usual way to do this is to 'escape' it by inserting a backslash (as in \[) but this doesn't seem to be working. Does it have something to do with the string I'm using being a GUI label? Can someone verify that escaping [ works or not with GUI label text?

See? Told you. Remain optimistic.

Quote from: Ponch on Sun 15/02/2009 19:29:27Besides, wasn't this the plot of an Arthur C Clarke novel?

The only Clarke story I've ever read, The Sands of Mars, ends with Phobos being ignited as an artificial sun as part of the ongoing terraforming of Mars.

Incidentally, you're all wrong about the Jupiter project, as it has in fact been lit up as a screen to disguise the secret experiments on yellow-breasted chats being undertaken there to create a species that can survive in hard vacuum and travel to other worlds as mankind's messengers to the Great Quagaar Empire in the Vega system.

Oh, codswallop. The idea that HOTU hasn't been mirrored somewhere, or at least that Sarinee never backed up his files, suffers from a disturbing lack of faith.

Quote from: Pumaman on Thu 12/02/2009 18:20:32Well spotted, thanks for reporting this.

Yay! My first bug report! Thanks for the fix CJ.

Quote from: rbaleksandar on Fri 13/02/2009 07:33:16PS: I would love to make a game in my own language. But I can't...

You can use Cyrillic, as long as you import a font (which you would probably have to create yourself) where standard characters (i.e. A-Z) are replaced with Cyrillic characters. Did you not understand the answer given to you in this topic? It's obviously irritating not being able to use Unicode but this workaround does exist.

Every time I save and quit the editor, and then open it again, all my inventory items HotspotX and HotspotY have been reset to 0, 0. I know of no reason why this should be.
