If there's some sort of war going on then it's completely one sided. Most people here don't give a damn about engine-penis-size comparison or whatever, we just want to make games that aren't being done commercially anymore without any jerkary or prejudice about what tools we're using. If individuals get hung up about which one is better or comunity politics or blargh, they they'll never get around to making a damn good game. Which is the whole point really.

Byzantine is still in production Goldmund, albiet at zero kilometers per second. As scotch has mentioned I'm reconsidering how to approach that particular project, but it is definatly not abandoned.

I've been growing my hair for just over a year and absolutely love it. Sure, there's been some times it's looked like a very large wig, occasionally I can pull off the 'Cousin It' look and I have to tie a teatowel around my forehead to stop it getting in the way when I'm cooking, but aside from that it's been a flawless transition. Oh, and it makes showering a lot more annoying due to the unreasonable amount of time it takes to dry, but it does mean it's getting washed and conditioned (with Herbal Essences no less) every day.

And it's definatly not skater hair, ugh.

I would play it. I love learning about philosophy and so on. The real question is, is the high resolution really necessary? I'm sure you'd have the same effect with 640x480.

No higher res allows more detail.

Assuming the backgrounds have enough detail to warrent the higher resolution, which these don't.

The game idea itself sounds awesome though.

I've been testing out some new gigastudio libraries to use in the composition of the soundtrack of my next project, and some critique from the musicians around here would come in very handy. I'm aware the mix is currently quite unbalanced and a little overpowering, something I plan to address as soon as I get some time to work on it a little more.

Regarding 2ma2, having met him twice in real life it's kinda sad to see him disappear as not only was he an awesome game maker but an awesome person too. He was part of the equation that made Mittens 2003 one of the best weeks of my life, so it's a bummer to not see his presence anymore.

In regards to the Manhunt thing, it's obvious that violent video games were used as a scapegoat because the mother of the child in question didn't want to admit she either a) failed as a parent or b) had a mentally unstable son.

And if it wasn't video games it'd be violent films, or Marilyn Manson lyrics, or something equally bullshit.
