I bump this thread in the name of my released EP here: http://www.aud-stim.com/stim044.htm , which might interest the handful of electronic music liking people around here.

I'm currently a Music Tech student so I guess my jobs would be drinking, sleeping and playing pool in the Student Union.

My dream job would be to get signed to Warp Records and make enough cash from silly bleepy music to not have to do any work and still be able pay the morgage and insure a Lotus Elise.

More realistically, i'll probably end up designing music software/plugins, or working on audio/sound effects/music production for video games. Either way, it won't be too bad.

Fact: To research the role of Cap'n Jack Sparrow, actor Johnny Depp spent 7 months as an animatronic robot on the original 'Pirates Of The Carribean' ride.

Also, something to do with Casablanca and cardboard midgets.

NWOIR!

Or possibly grayscale fishing hat, I've never been able to distinguish the two.

We touch down at 2:15 pm (I think), but that's not taking into account waiting for the baggage and having a paranoid customs officer interrogate the lot of us.

Jesus wept, people just never learn do they?

Quoteand I much prefer the mystical fungus, which is 100% created by nature and 200% safe

It still counts as intoxication doesn't it? And I would never buy into "it's safe, no side effects whatsoever!" claims on anything, drugs will always knock your chemical equilibrium out of kilter and there will be consiquences that aren't good.

My personal views on drugs is that I exist due to millions of billion-to-one chances, so I'll be damned if I'm going abuse my mind and body with herbs, shrooms, chemicals, excessive consumption of fermented vegetable drinks, poppy flower extracts or whatever the hell else counts as 'recreational substances'. When you dick around with your conciousness you change who you are, and I think that's the worst thing a person can do to themselves.

I also can't see how drugs can aid in spiritual development, because you're doing nothing but altering your concious state as opposed to taking a voyage into your subconsiouness. The most you can achive would be akin to discovering fools gold.

Leks, you're a Zen Buddhist aren't you? I'm assuming that you use or have used LSD seeing as you defend it passionatly whenever the situation allows, but wouldn't that be breaking the basic teachings of the Buddha (the 'purify the mind one' specifically, as I can't imagine that introducing alien chemicals into that squidgy thing we call the brain to royally fuck up it's sensory input would count as purifying it)?

Please set me straight if I'm wrong here.

I'll be arriving in to NY with CJ, AGA and Mods so we're all going to be part of the lift possie. I'll send an email as soon as I can, but if there's going to be lots of us we could all chip in and rent a minibus or something?

Cap'n, I shall be returning to the fair city of Derby on the 13th of May, when my last exam is over. I could boogie into the town centre and say 'Arrr' some weekday or weekend after that. Also, come along to this one seeing as you missed the first two mittens ;)

The biggest moron is undoubtably Warren Spector. I shall elaborate on this later.
