We stole the conecpt for Robot Wars from an American show I think, and it's been around for ages now... Jeremy Clarkson used to present it instead of Craig Charles for the first few series. Possibly. Anyway, I think it still is quite popular, although I never can be arsed to watch it anymore.

QuoteI think the announcer guy ruins it. Is he the "Let's get ready to rummmmmmmm bullllllllllllllllllll" guy of the UK??

Er, do you mean the commentator (Jonothan Pryce or something, who seems to be constantly on a caffene buzz) or Craig? If you don't know who Craig is then i'll have to beat you up with a trout :)

General Discussion / Re:Does The Matrix Suck?
Fri 07/11/2003 01:06:47
Y'know, one year ago, before i'd seen Reloaded and Revolutions I would have happily argued with Shattered that 'The Matrix' was one of the best things ever as opposed to 'flush me down the toilet now please' material.

Now after seeing the second film again on DVD, the third film last night, and Kill Bill, I really do hate the Matrix and The Wachowski Brothers and want to punch them in the face. Several times. True, I did come back from the second film being Mr. Positive about it, but that changed when I saw it again. And saw that godawful sex-scene which I missed in the cinema as I had to nip out and urgently go to the toilet.

Blah, so Mr. Sponge, I now more or less agree with you.

I hope to be able to make it, even if it involves not eating and using my student loan to pay for it. And if Mr. Leksutin doesn't make an appearence this year then i'll damn well go to his house and drag him there!

Get it soon man, get it as soon as humanly possible.

Exactly Rincewind. It ended in such a way that a sequal would make things crappy, and having new characters in the same world would also be crappy as we've all seen and done it and been blown away by it before.
In conclusion, what Yufster, Pudding and Rincewind said.

If Lucasarts hired me they'd get some original and creative games!

The true path to enlightenment can be found through flash animations.

Holy crapola!

Edit: Incidently, where've I heard that theme music before?

QuoteA word of advice: stay away from anything Cubase. The interface is terrible.

Eek, that's not right at all, I find Cubase's interface productive and easy to use.

Of course, that may just be down to many years of conditioning. :)

General Discussion / Re:How do you MIDI?
Tue 16/09/2003 01:12:53
I use Buzz Digital Composer (read, tracker) and a few VSTs, although it's more of a case of using external hardware to control the software via midi than using the software to control external hardware. No need to spend tonnes of money on hardware if your software offers limitless ways of making noise.

Right on. Both London and Birmingham are easy to get too.

Currently in the process of tweaking the plot and puzzles for both TJH Part 2 and Byzantine, and throwing some art ideas back and forth with the respective artists for each project. Both Scotch and Pessi seem to have disappeared though, which is slightly worrying.
