Right folks, the time has come to arrange and book a flight. It's already been determined that we should probably catch the same plane, and we need to book ASAP. So, CJ, Mods, AGA, Custard, Matt Goble (especially you Matt :)), Scotch, and anyone else from the UK that is planning on attending this year, please post here confirming that you'll be going so we can arrange the flight date and times. I think AGA has some info on prices and suchlike, so perhaps that would be a good starting point.

Edit: from the Mittens thread: Okay, for those of us in the UK, I suggest we all take the same flight...

The flight we are getting is from www.ryanair.com and leaves London Stansted at 9:50am on Monday 28th July. It leaves Gothenburg at 13:05 or 21:05 on Friday 1st August. The cost is £19.99 both ways (without tax), which comes to £61.22 all included with tax and fees...

[edit: to fix flight times]

The Gormenghast books are rockin'
I'm currently re-reading the Book Of The New Sun, er, quadragy? Generally because they are more rockin' than anything else. In fact, if I were held at gunpoint and asked what my favourite books were, I'd probably say these.
Read them if you haven't, f00's!

It begins here.

Warning: There have been reports of the demo crashing at a specific point in the intro. After a little bit of testing (all credit to MillJROSS, nice one buddy) it appears that disabling either Anti-Aliasing of sprites or the force 85hz refesh rate options in the setup.exe will solve the problem. Windows 2000 and Windows XP uses do not seem to get this crash, so this only applies to those running ME or 98.

Yeah, it's a joke thank god. Possibly the most sick and tasteless joke ever to grace the internet, but still a joke.

I didn't laugh. At all.

Alright, I think all that has needed to be said has been said. Does anyone have any objections to the thread being locked before bad things start to happen?

Winbags.
I am also really looking forward to this game. :)

I agree with Trap on this one.

It's going to make a lot of people very unhappy with Lucasarts though.

I'm sure Helm and Mods have earned the right to be Helm and Mods and not feign sincerity.

QuoteNope, Darkey, it will. It is quiet capalble of pulling out a smooth performance with almost maximal detail.

Perhaps if you think Quake 3 is a latest high-tec superduper game...
There is no way that a Geforce 4 MX, which is actually a tweaked Geforce 2 core (yes, it really is) could run a game like Unreal 2 or Splinter Cell with smooth performance with maximum detail... and maximum detail does mean full Anti-aliasing and Aniostropic Filtering...

A few of my favourites:

Homer: Well, he's got all the money in the world, but there's one thing
            he can't buy.
Marge: What's that?
Homer: ... A dinosaur!

-----

Homer: So I said to him, "Look, buddy, your car was upside down when we
got here.  And as for your Grandma, she shouldn't have mouthed
           off like that!"
Lisa: Dad, don't you see you're abusing your power like all vigilantes?
I mean, if you're the police, who will police the police?
Homer: I dunno.  Coast Guard?

-----

Homer: Mmm...sixty four slices of American cheese.
[Takes the stack to the table and sits down]
      Sixty four...[eats it]
      Sixty three...[eats it]
       [Next morning]
      Two...[eats it really slowly]
      One...[eats it]
       [Marge walks in]
Marge: [incredulous] Have you been up all night eating cheese?
Homer: [slurred] I think I'm blind...
