I think we should morn for the loss of Family Guy and Futurama, for they were axed before their time...

Although personally i think the award for 'show axed with greatest injustice' goes to Farscape... that show had razor-sharp writing and was generally excellent for the entirety of it's four series run.

And they left it on one helluva cliffhanger too...

Actually, it wont play all the new high tech super-duper games. It's not technically a Geforce 4 level card either... nVidia just did some really sneaky naming guff...

Holy cow. I don't browse the critics forum much because i have to fight the urge to reply to many a topic with the phrase 'holy cow' and not giving any critique whatsoever.

So, to recap: Holy cow, I also look forward to seeing and hearing anything else about your project, Xadhoom, as it certainly looks great!

The best example of how bad the show is now is the episode Gump Roast. The introductory gag is a 'parody' (spit the word) of Forrest Gump, with a feather gliding down. It reaches Homer (who's sitting on a bench dressed as Forrest) who sees it and goes 'aaaah'... to which the end of the feather gets stuck in his eye. Cue a moment of flailing around with Homer going 'argh agrh argh'... proceeding to pull the feather out of his eye which immedietly gets stuck IN HIS OTHER EYE!!!!!!!!

edit: It's worth pointing out that this particular episode is a clip show, and consists of a lot of 'classic' moments that is embarrasing to watch with the more recent clips and filler material (Homer gets drunk and insults some random man!!!! Bwahahahahaha!

I'll probably keep on following the religion of Dark Stalkey... well, it's more of a one man movement but I seem to be getting by just fine...

I was just making a broad and sweeping 'stereotypical' portrayal of satanism as I really have no real clue as to what it involves (which just goes to show that I should keep my uneducated mouth shut in the future). But i'm pretty confident it's not much to do with what Terran is talking about anyway

How exactly does it border Satanism? We're just talking about the interaction between the way your body acts during sleep and consiousness here, not sacrifing poultry to something that may or may not exist...

Notion seconded. Some of the recent episodes I've seen have been absolutely appaling, full of the kind of humour your eight-year-old cousin would come up with. The best stage was the second, with it's almost python-esque humour and satire.

Yes, it was funny, considerably more funny than series 7... but it lacked that edge that made Red Dwarf so brilliant in it's previous series'
I agree with AGA (although to adjust things a little, series 6 was fugging brilliant!), Kochanski is a crappy character (not in the books though) and shouldn't have been brought back to 'replace' Rimmer as she did. And they've completely destroyed Kryten's character.
I guess the magic disappeared when Rob quit... oh well.
As i've said before, the Red Dwarf film will probably be buttocks-clenchingly bad.

Monkey Island 3 was of the higest quality. Analyse the soundtrack, the background art and animation before passing it off as a mistake. Even though the writing and humor (and Guybrush's character to an extent) was very different, it still bares all the hallmarks of what made the previous two Monkey Islands great. It also has a brilliant soundtrack, gorgeous background art and fluent animation. Unlike Monkey 4, which watered the humour down to an embarrasing level, had some truly awful plot devices (the whole Herman Toothrot and Robot Monkey stuff made me vomit everywhere). Monkey 3 had originality, Monkey 4 relied on bad parodies and re-used ideas. Did I mention the soundtrack, background art and animation was great?
The long and short of it is that if you do a bad game, you do a bad game, whether it's in 248912x83531 with 32 trillion colours and photorealistic 3d or in 160x100 with 16 colours. If a company were to truly move with the times and do a fully 3D adventure game using the latest stuff such as normal mapping, unified lighting and skeletal animation systems, provided it had a solid plot and original ideas and good dialog, 3d art, soundtrack etc. it would be great.
