Wow, if only Blackstar... or Borkstar... or whatever his name was could see this now. Or infact anyone at indyproject that gave you flak over FoY could see this.

The only mistake Lucasarts made was all those freakin' Star Wars games... and possibly the Dig and Monkey 4. Yes, definatly Monkey 4.

Both Simon 1 and 2 had that special 'X' factor that gets me hooked on said game and renders me unable to put them down. All Lucasarts games had this 'X' factor, as did the Discworld games (although the 2nd was a little iffy)... so that can only be a good thing...

General Discussion / Re:War unleashed...

As much as i've tried to stay out of this post, I feel I have to ask a question. I asked this same question in irc and didn't get a proper answer, so maybe someone here can enlighten me. Why has the prime minister of our country (being the UK) risked his job, his cabinet members, diplomatic relations with the rest of Europe, and general political disaster to go above the UN's head and go to war with Iraq, knowing full well all the consiquences good and bad of such a major decision? I mean, there's clearly a uterior motive to Blair's actions for going to such gigantic lengths and risks, and it has to be something much more than just looking 'cool' for Bush by supporting his warmongering ways... this is international politics not schoolyard antics.
So, perhaps i'm missing something obvious here, but if someone could point it out then i'd be more the wiser for it....

Ah ha, i think i've just worked out what the catch is for using your Grandparent's summer cottage, Andail :)

The image you're refering to Even was a conceptual picture back when the game was being planned and Bill was sketching up the artistic style for the game. The Barber Shop was originally on Blood Island, hence the nightly-ness of the picture. Apparently, he'd hit the nail on the head with the style and colouring of this picture, and kept it for future reference, or something...

How could the engine inprove what is already a pefect game... :P

Sounds good to me AGA, i'll just double check with the transport down and book ASAP if its possible

Yes, the creators were damnned talented. No, Lucasarts did not primarily do comedy games. Sam and Max and Day Of The Tenticle could probably be described as 'comic' games... but the rest just had a lot of good dialog and sharp wit. The games i mentioned above are not comedy games, they just have humor in them.

Lucasarts did Grim Fandango and Monkey Island 2 and Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis (undoubtably three of best adventure games around), so that pretty much clinches and wipes the competition off the board for me.

Same as Leks, along with some 'underground' UK club music...
Oh yes, and Elbow. Elbow are gods.

QuoteIn fact, I also have the record for the fastest song ever made. And I also make the most professional and suckcore songs in the fastest amount of time. It takes me 2 minutes tops from start to finish to make a good song.

Alright, sorry everyone, I take back my last post... I'll just carry on beating my head against this here wall until AGA comes along and removes everything and we can get back to the original point of this topic... :)

Wahahaha, thanks for that RPG Creator... your 61 reasons why you are God and we are your stupid minions because i ares got teh 1gig gayme brought a smile to my face... for a moment...
Hell, i WAS going to download my free demo TODAY!(exclamation mark one one one) along with that 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 BPM track but seeing as it's not online yet, and frankly you're quite an unbalanced individual, i felt slightly cheated...

...

Hello? HELLO? I THOUGHT THESE FORUMS WERE OUR SANCTUARY OF SANITY IN THIS CRAZY, CRAZY WORLD! WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND HERE?!!? ANYONE?

#634
Sorry, who's setting the standards here? Tierra, or some random person who hasn't released anything yet?
#635
Duzz, i've just downloaded the files from where i uploaded them and inmstalled the game... i didn't get any CRC errors, so perhaps you could try downloading it again?
#636
Harsh, harsh words there Raggit... Tierra have quiet obviously poured their heart and soul into this project, and are no doubt huge Sierra fans themselves, so i'm sure they'd take that kind of criticism quite unwell seeing the amount of effort that has gone into this.

More to the point, fantastic work guys, this truly is a very professional product... I haven't got very far into the game (too much wandering around in forests in Sierra games... but very beautiful forests!) but it oozes quality in every way.

PLEASE READ!! : Whoops, i arsed up somewhere along the line and broke something in the game that is important... if you have downloaded this game before this announcement then please re-download! Sorry about this :(
Forunatly this time around, save files will still be compatable with the new compile.

Well dress me in spandex and fire me out of a cannon, i've finally relesed what I should have done a year ago: a significantly less buggy version of TJH part 1. If there are any bugs left (and i'm sure there will be ._. ) then let me know and i'll go erradicate them.
Oh yes, and if you missed this the first time around, now's your chance to play the damn game!!!(1)
I'll be releasing some more info and goodies on Byzantine and TJH Part 2 at around Christmas time, so keep watching the ski's... eh, skies.

http://www.neopod.com/~adam/tjh-part1.part1.exe
http://www.neopod.com/~adam/tjh-part1.part2.rar
http://www.neopod.com/~adam/tjh-part1.part3.rar

All three files are required to be downloaded and installed in the same directory... it's a SFX rar file so all you have to do is run the .exe file and behold the amateaur goodness!

Onwards....

J. L. ? Could it be another infamous AGSer i've heard rumours of?

Talk about the past coming back to confuse all of us who joined post July 2001 :)

How Yahtzee acted in the past, the present, or the future isn't an issue here whatsoever... the point here is that he's made the only amateur game so far that has truly captured the essence and atmosphere of Monkey Island... and I do rate this game very highly...

I got 8 before I had to end it all. Kudos to you Ionias, must have been a fun evening :)
