General Discussion / Re: Emo Music

Crazy, I have to agree that I don't like the way people throw around the "emo" term. I never used it purely for the fact that I don't know what "type" of music it is.

Anyway so as per usual everybody has a different opinion as to what it is, I don't get it.

I'm still curious as to why the many different opinions, what are the reasons for you calling the bands you guys mentioned emo?

LOLOLOL Ok so seriously I was wondering what does everyone concider as emo bands / music since, it seems no one I speak to agree on this topic.

No fighting mkay, let's try and figure it out.

I like the tree, reminds me of a farm :P  Only gripe with the tree is to make the greenage more, sort of looks flat ontop of the tree.

Have to say I like the style its awesome, and this would even make a really good style in a more hi res drawn way too.

Keep it up, what tut did you use?

The character as general rule of thumb is like a third of the height of your back ground.

Your character looks way small to the comparison of the back ground. The box looks bigger than him.

Anyway this feels way way way too big for a truck, even the moving vans I've seen are not this big. They never had windows, either if I remember correctly, and no light??

Also the boxes perspective can be worked on maybe set your Vanishing Points further apart and lift your horizontal line.

To be honest with you, look at duty and beyond by mordalles and at art of theft by yahtzee.

The graphics are simple clean and the games still kick ass.

Also look at happy tree friends and stuff like that the graphics are simple and clean no art awards happening there :P but it is probably one of the most famous web cartoons on the net.

I will leave you with a last thought, just do what you feel comfortable with, something you can replicate and won't frustrate you and make you give up on the game... I want to play your kick ass stories!

Good Luck,

Looks good, nice work.

*Logo at top cuts off (firefox)
*Would change the page title (in browser) form Portfolio to MR Santa Hat's portfolio ;) or Corey's Portfolio.
*Maybe not have the icons on the left in an I frame that scrolls.
* I personally would put in the game with the pixel graphics since it's not your strong suit, rather just leave it at your 3d graphics. It also feels out of place, and draws the most attention as a thumbnail so people would probably check it first and then not even look at the others :P

*Maybe add a about page or something that says your interests are indi game dev etc.

Hehe the Bg's are pretty kewl.

I though still feel that hand drawn bgs cannot be out rendered :P The style cannot be replicated to the quality of the 2d painted bg's.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not knocking your 3d Pics, I just felt that even MI4 the Bgs weren't what it should be, to hold true to the MI series.

Oki, well im downloading one too :D Going to play that before two. Don't forget to add two to your games I've worked on page Ola :D

I recently got both games and I must say they were quite a treat to play.

The games were really well "polished" and very entertaining, also solving the puzzles had me tied down for a bit.
I think Blackwell Unbound was the more challenging title, but they both were equally enjoyable, and getting to know Joey is pretty funny.

Very nicely done Thanks Dave!

Appreciated! Thank you, downloading to check it out. I am not to confident in background creation yet :)

I love the feel of it to be honest.

If you want to lose the stiffness, make the character more dynamic.

Move the shoulders.
Sway the Chest (after effect of the shoulders.)

I think it looks awesome is it based of Mr Colossal's (spelling?)  walk template?
