General Discussion / Re: Suggestion Box

I probably shouldn't be telling you this, Vintage... but there is a forum on the internet which features a "Ring of Flame" subsection. You'd probably like to go there...

http://forums.kingdomofloathing.com/viewforum.php?f=23&sid=b11dd55220ae55ebde3d37ea0cc5d495

It doesn't even have moderators. Not a single one. And the global admin doesn't give a f*** what happens in there. My suggestion: Register - that forum may fulfill your posting needs  ;)

Some thread names...

Oooh, I mentioned "GTA". This gives them every right to sue the last cent out of me.

(by the way, that is the other thing I don't like about the Internet of today  ;))

My suggestion? Users can only start one new thread a week  :=

I just didn't encounter that before and was - at the same time - amused and slightly terrifed. I mean, hell, Coupon code: 404 page?

Sorry if my complete lack of intelligence annoyed you, oh great masters of the universe  ;) From here on, I will only start threads about how great monkey_05_06 is and hail his sense of humor and friendlyness  :=

/EDIT: This post can't even see serious from where it's sitting. I just hate it when people with numbers in their name go all 13375|°34|< on me  ;)

I'd rather stick with the shades-of-blue color scheme...

I'm not sure if I should be amused or freaking out. This actually happened to me and is a screenshot - I've just removed the host name, regarding how some companies are really sensible about this.

Actually, only "Help database", "About", and "Quit" feature functionality (and clicking on the Ncoder box buttons to see what they do, of course)... I just wanted it to look like a programming suit, not to program one myself. The other buttons are just for show, to increase imemrsion. Also, players won't actually have a reason to mess around with them.

Hm... okay, I didn't remotly think of looking under game.variables for a FollowCharacter problem  :=

Again, thanks everyone... and I'll keep that in mind, Ashen.

Works just perfectly. Many thanks.  :)

I'm again looking for a way to get DiscNoir running again. I purchased the version legally, but it refuses to run under Windows XP, even in compability mode, and the HOTU "patch" doesn't work. Any idea how to get this running again?

This character is supposed to be always in the same room as cEgo and at the co-ordinates (160, 100). I've already tried letting him follow cEgo with DISTANCE and EAGERNESS = 1 and putting

Code: ags
cCracker.x=160; cCracker.y=100;

in repeatedly_execute. It worked quite well... except that cCracker only enters cEgo's room after about 5 seconds pass, which is 5 second too much for what I'm wanting to use this character.

Also, I tried to manipulate the cCracker.Room directly, but unfortunately, it's read-only... so that doesn't work.

If I can't have this character changing the room the second cEgo changes it, I could work around this with a command like character.SayAtBackground, which unfortunately doesn't exist.

And ideas what I should be doing?

/EDIT: No, I can't use any RawDraw functions.

That's a quite... interesting graphics style.

Just wanted you to know...

Regarding how I'm not going to do the Monk game alone and therefor probably will have to wait for my team members occasionally, this game will probably - probably - be started soon.

If it will, I might a... surprise for the AGS community... something you wouldn't have imagined... but (hopefully) enjoy!

/EDIT: Yeah, well, or not.  :P

Winter is over, you're too late. Also, my hide doesn't make a good winter coat...

Okay. So I'm just being paranoid, and nobody else minds that a big company knows everything about them. And Tuomas... I'd not like to have a stalker. Okay, hey, somebody fancies you / finds you interesting, woohoo, but you obviously didn't read what can happen to stalker victims...  :P

I brightened most things up a little.

May be because I never played that game... but I still like "My Eyes!", the Fire/Acid comic and "Lights off" (the original version) best.

Again, it depends on who decides what makes you a "terrorist". For example, some people could deem the AGS forum member potentially terroristic, seeing how less many of us like the United States / Bush (whom I'd like to nail on the next tree, for one  ;))

Anyway, I guess I'm just being paranoid, but... I don't like people who know anything about me. I mean, really - does anyone here know my real name? Where exactly I live in Germany (don't trust the AGSers map)? My other two E-Mail adresses? Right-o. It's bad enough they have these mega-zoom satellites. I'm always trying to sit in front of my monitor in a way that completly covers it  ;)

Heh... I always use 32 Bit, no matter if I need it or not, just because I'm waaay too lazy to mess around with palettes  ;D
