The Subject pretty much says it - I'd like to see a word in the textparser which can be a placeholder for pretty much anything - even nothing. 'anything' would match any input; it'd be pretty much like rol, just that you can also set it at the beginning (Parser.Said("anything tools")) which is not possible with rol.

Right, that was really helpful. The bug is fixed now  :)

Hm... I don't know, but I guess there *will* be issues. Wait, does it still count as a guess if I'm 99.99% sure? Vista's backwards compability isn't one of it's few strenghts...

Let's hope you'll make it  :)

I don't know why, but I have the name 'Pablo Huertes' spooking around in my head for quite a while now, and I think it would fit that guy.

Update:
I ceased working on this to continue with a crappy buggy and dumb adventure game instead.

Just kidding  ;D

Actually, I just implented the missing chat channels, made the

a little easier to trigger and started working on the after-LAN server. Also, there now are in-game descriptions for the LAN systems (which you'll encounter some additional times).

There is this revolutionary technology called [ALT]-[PRINT SCREEN]-Open Paint-[CTRL]-[V] -o-tron ;)

If you're just looking for sprites and room backgrounds, that will be no problem. Additionally, if the game in question is an AGS or freeware game, you could try to write the author a nice letter/e-mail/pm and ask for the sprites (of course, you should put him in the 'special thanks to'-section). If the game is commercial ("lawyers") you have no chance that way.

No problem - most people forget about the 'General settings'-pane  ;)
#1729
Right: I've got a textbox and an associated button next to it. Is there any other way to call the button_click function on hitting enter than trickstering around with the key_press function and if - Structures?

Thanks for the link, the available-for-paintover graphics should be enough for next month's mags competition  :)
#1731
Sounds like a good idea.
#1732
Ah, I see, thanks for making roger remind me of this thread  ;D

I tried the demo - it's quite nice... but, of course, very short. And you should probably think about setting the room transition style to 'Instant' - this fade in/out doesn't quite fit IMO. And you should probably make searching more, well, user friendly. I tried webspace, webhosting and ftp  := before visitng the walkthrough

Just remove all frames from the loops you want to be ignored.
#1734
I could try that, yes, but I'd rather see that as a last resort... any idea how to solve this problem still using the default gui?

And no, the game doesn't save twice at the same time.

Demo!

It's very early, but you can already solve a few puzzles!

Note: To access an IP, click on the telnet button and type it in, points and everything, e.g. 127.0.0.1. To make the enter ip field vanish, click the button again. 'Looking' does not work on everything, but you'll see when. The LAN screen isn't explained, but I think you'll be able to figure out. If you're stuck or feel you need a certain program to, e.g., bypass a firewall, feel free to ask in the available chat channels. If you asked in the right way, you'll get a helpful reply. The last three chat channels aren't there yet.

Have fun!

/EDIT: Okay, short LAN explanation:

Spoiler
The square things are hubs or the router; just connect to them. The strange thing in the middle of the screen is an isolation bridge. connect and type y to invert the status of the associated locks. The strange colored pc is a lock opener; connect and type y to open the associated lock. The locks are security; you can only connect if they are open (no dot in the middle). The normal-colored pc is your target.
Also, you can only connect to other systems if one of these strange blue lines lead to your target from your current location. If the line is white, it denotes your connection runs that way. To get back to the router, click on reset connection.

Oh, and I left debug mode on.  ;) Ignore that. I'd replace the file, but I'm feeling too lazy right now. Same is true for writing a readme or adding lookat interaction to the LAN systems right now ;D

*dump*

Do you just not feel like answering or do you just have no idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks for the idea, the log on screen now looks like that,
which in my opinion is just great.

/EDIT: I've already changed the main menu again.  ;D
Check here for the updated version. When you quit the game, it now saves into slot 111, and clicking on 'Recent' restores that save game. If not present, you get a nifty error message.

Jup, I was told everything but complete replacement of the game was allowed, so I took your advice and changed the font to a bigger, more readable one.

/EDIT: The GUI seems more pleasant? Um... I just changed the font, nothing else...
