I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but it's easy-as-pie to make a first-person cursor-driven game with AGS. Just take a look at, say, Heartland Deluxe (semi-3D, though) or _Access.

Heh... that even made it into German news.

/EDIT: The fake newspaper, I mean. The black guy, too, but that's a little less surprising, considering how Europe is basically one huge Obama fanclub.

Mini-skirts and blond, hmm.

The combination sure is awesome, but I'm not sure if that posture is possible to hold without breaking several limbs...?

Don't worry, you can legally drink (wussy) beer in Germany at the tender age of 16. Must be a tradition thing. Anything else is at 18, though. And Heroin is a tad expensive right now, so I'll have to stick with the occasional beer.  :=

Still, Me Go Pub is up as soon as I can locate enough of my peers to make the celebration worthwhile. Still, Me Go Brothel, Me Go Bankrupt In Run-Down Casio and Me Go Throwing Up In Back Alley And Subsequently Beaten Unconscious By Gang Of Thugs will have to wait a tad.  ;)

At this point masturbating starts getting frustrating when before it was exciting, and it's all downhill from there. Happy birfday!

At least I'm one year closer to sweet, sweet death, huh?

So far, the pimpin' seems to be working. I, for example, always used to think Ace Quest was an hourgame made by FSi in '04. Live and learn.  ;)

So getting ripped off in seedy casinos isn't actually an integral part of adulthood? Aww, poo. Anyway, thanks, I'm having a nice birthday so far.  ;)

Second piece of advice: Get some I.D! You don't just instantly look older now!

Don't worry, I've had some I.D. since I turned 16. A lot of places are really strict in terms of age restrictions over here, so you more or less have to get it as soon as possible.

So I'm legally an adult now. About time, too. Liqour hellholes, cheap hookers and seedy casinos, here I come!

You need to use it on itself. As in, select it, then while having it as the active cursor, right-click on it.

Seconded. The puzzle style mostly didn't tickle my fancy, but pretty much everything else in the game is awesome, especially the writing (gotta love Bearnum's dialogue regarding the laser).

Alright... so it began today. I'll try and see if I'm more successful than last time. Wish me luck... I'll need it.  :P

Heh... I had just the (super-pretentious) idea for this kind of game some months ago. Unfortunately, I'm occupied enough with NaNoWriMo, Uni and another unspecified AGS-related activity, so...  :-\

I know for sure that this thing was done nearly completly via the Interaction Editor. It's shit, though, and a permanent stain on my soul.  ;)

I'll just save myself some work and quote Stu who started a similar thread last year:

"It's that time of year again.
Is anybody going to be attempting it this year?

For anybody who doesn't know NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month and is held from November 1st - 30th and the idea is for participants to try to write a novel (well 50,000 words) in that space of time.

It's a great creative exercise though and I reckon we should all have a go and talk about it in this thread.

http://www.nanowrimo.org"

I attempted entering last year, but a PC crash got in the way... well, that, and the novel was shitty anyway. Let's see what it'll be like this year. So how about you?

No, but it does mean he's in for a surprise.

Hints & Tips / Re: _Access help

Well...

Spoiler

There's a list of links available... and you connected to the server in the first place to find out the IP of a certain place that you couldn't get earlier...
[close]

The game is a little rough around the edges, especially in terms of plot, so you need to pay some attention where you're going, and what you wanted to do in first place... I always wanted to rework that, but somehow never got around to it.  ;)

Anyway. Good luck!

Wow, somebody is still playing this?  :o

Anyway, as for your request... AFAIK, there's no real walkthrough available, but if you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them (well, as far as I remember the solutions...  ;))

You're getting better. All it needs right now is some line "cleanup" - as in, taking out the jerkiness. If you can make the outlines of the other hills look more like that of the one with the trees on it in the upper right corner, you've got quite a nice background.  :)

Worst thing I ever had was breaking two of my teeth in a sports accident - as in, snapping both of them in half and spitting out the other halves, together with some blood. From that day on, I haven't been able to bite into anything with my "front teeth", for fear the "replacement" halves might break off. Nothing compared to your stories, of course, but it was quite unpleasant still.
