Even better.  The pads still look a bit stiff, but it could easily pass for a padded room so long as the player is told that it is.
Nice background overall.

And the winnder is?

Try this in your declaration:
Code: ags

String message = String.Format("This is a message.");
#125
You say that simply
String message;
compiled fine, right?

Try setting the value in the game_start() script:
Code: ags

message.Text = "This is some text."

I think that'll work.

I don't care how stupid they are, so long as they don't post rediculously(sp) (and so far they haven't).

Glad to hear it Toumas!  Hopefully, we'll get enough people to have at least a small community.

Critics' Lounge / Tune advice
Mon 26/06/2006 07:04:04
If epilepsy was triggered by flashes of sound, instead of flashes of light, then I'd need a warning label for this track...

There are currently two versions, one is the song played with a Reed Organ voice, the other plays the treble line with a Clarinet, and the bass line with the Tuba.  I like both versions.  The first thing I need is advice on which one you think is better.

Then comes the tune itself.  Any ways to improve?

The idea behind the HDC forum has been around for a while.Ã,  From March to May it was tested online, and now it's ready for public release!

The Humble Debate Club isn't really much of a place to debate, but to discuss various issues/ideas.Ã,  Since the new board is still in its developing stage, we're open to ideas (via the 'Suggestions' board) on how to improve the forum itself, and site traffic.Ã,  (For example, competition ideas are currently being considered, and your idea could very well develope into a full blown comp)

It's hard to describe exactly what the site is about.Ã,  Mainly, discussion.Ã,  Other than that, you'll just have to look for yourself.Ã,  If you're at least remotely interested, then please drop by and register.Ã,  We'd be honored.

This is getting insane.

I changed PlayMusic(5); to PlayMusic(4);
Tested the game, silence.  So I think, 'must be something wrong with the room file.'

Out of curiosity, I change 'Play Music on Room Load [4]' to 'Play Music on Room Load [5]' in one of the rooms that gave me no problems.  It won't play either.

Perhaps the midi is corrupted somehow?  Any ideas?

If you just had lines a few pixels long to suggest shape rather than using the dot scheme and had a furry outline, I think it would sell it.Ã,

Here's a poor example since I can't draw animals, but the top of the tail almost manages to look furry without being realistic:
Crappy squirrel drawing

My God, that's scary.

For crits though:
I'd stick with a non-shaded version.  It looks easier to animate, as Farlander said.

(Getting really off-subject now but):

I suppose you could use file output to output a .dat file of the highscore from AGS, and then instruct the user to upload that .dat file.  Then, you could build a webpage that the user could input the .dat file's web location, and then the webpage htm would extract the contents into a highscore, ask the player for name/location/etc, and then add it to a scoreboard.

That's a lot of trouble though, for the developer AND the user.

or you could give them an web address with a scoreboard in it to input your scores into. probably be easier to do as well.

Also very easy to lie, and always get the highscore  :P

Quotebut I certainly enjoy this place

I second that.  I've been on a lot of forums, but this one is by far the most well-kept and friendly.  I love it here  :-*

What would I do without it  :-\
