Well, I say SSH should start a new topic, since to everyone on the board, this one appears closed anyway.  I'm sure he can come up with something...
#222
Couldn't you shorten that too:
Code: ags

cEgo.Say("%s", Game.GlobalMessages[500]);

(I know I'm probably wrong, but this looks like it would work...)
#223
That sounds like a fine idea to me, but we should probably wait until SSH has his say, since he made the comp in the beginning.
#224
So, what happens now?  Does the original maker of the coding comp take over the next topic?

(Sorry for making a bad topic again...  :'()

Look into the RawDraw commands...

I've never called the functions in repeatedly_excecute_always before, so I don't know how they behave.Ã,  I think they should keep running, but as I said, I haven't actually tried.Ã,  As for having to run the function over and over, perhaps, for now, you could set up a variable like Is_Cutscene_Going in your room script, and make it true when you start the cutscene.Ã,  Then run a check in the room's repeatedly_excecute to see if the variable is true, and if it is, Emit the particles.

In version 2.0 I will change the system of emmision so that the user has only to call a function to start/stop emmision from the present spawnpoint.Ã,  That way, repeatedly_excecute functions won't be relied on so heavily.Ã,  Thanks for pointing out that problem.

Sounds like a good call to me...
#229
Well, I believe I found the problem.  I was calling the RawDraw from the game_start script, and the game didn't seem to like that at all.  I know now not to call it there.  Thank you for your help anyhow!

"157 91"

Those don't sound too bad do they?

Can you draw outside the screen anyhow?  It is possible for the variables to get out of hand.  Would a check to see if they're on-screen before drawing fix it maybe?

Beta .07 now available.  The main change is that I finished converting the way things get destroyed.  Rather than just being reduced to rubble, they now explode into flames, via my Particle Engine.

Also, I'd just like to say that this project isn't really dead, it's just dragging along very slowly, due to my working on other projects.  I sometimes touch it up though, and this release is a display of said touch ups.

So, tell me what you think of the newest style of blowing stuff up!

I hope you can enter, I feel bad that I didn't make a better topic though  :'(

I have the following line in my code:

Code: ags
RawDrawLine(FloatToInt(x_origin + x), FloatToInt(y_origin + y), FloatToInt(x_origin + x), FloatToInt(y_origin + y));

x_origin, y_origin, x, and y are all defined as float values.Ã,  Now, when I run my game, I get an error off of this line:

Quote---------------------------
Illegal exception
---------------------------
An exception 0xC0000005 occured in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x0043B7F9 ; program pointer is -42, ACI version 2.71.894, gtags (0,1)

AGS cannot continue, this exception was fatal. Please note down the numbers above, remember what you were doing at the time and notify CJ on the Tech forum.

in Global script (line 16)
from Global script (line 33)

Most versions of Windows allow you to press Ctrl+C now to copy this entire message to the clipboard for easy reporting.
---------------------------
OKÃ,  Ã,
---------------------------

Line 33 calls the function that contains line 16, which is the offensive code quoted up top.

Does anyone see the problem?

..someone should make that island map talked about so long ago.... I'm too lazy...
#235
I don't think so, the module takes advantage of AGS's ability to tint things, and it doesn't tint hotspots.  Perhaps you should try using regions instead?

I would send you some clean underwear, just becuase I don't want you to stink horridly when you finally attack or come to a meeting with us Imperials, but I'm afraid that doing so would label me a helper of the enemy.  Therefore, I suggest that you rebels become nudists, and in doing so eliminate the need for underwear or clothes of any sort.  Just make sure you wash up your old clothes in the stream and wear them if you come into town, no one wants to see your shame...

I would find it quite useful, as my dependence on listboxes is growing, and having the items clored would let the player see their differences without having to read into them individually.  Of course, you would have to change the color of the box around a selected item, since the item's color is different now.

I like listboxes...

Request granted.  The sourcecode of the Effects Demo game has been added to the file download linked in the first post.

Ahh yes, and in our Valhalla we can have our thousands of cloned wemon...  I'm starting to really like our lifestyle...

Also, I think someone who's not me should design a Christopia website also.  It's a great idea!  A MMO style chat room/bar thing could be made too with great skill no?

Another woman! Also from canada... Interresting. Grab her before she finds out the geekyness of this place, so we can use her in the woman worshipping temple on Christopia!

Worshiping temple?!  Why not just grab some of her skin cells so we can CLONE her!
