Ishmael:  What exactly do you think I should do to fix up this GUI?  Right now, the GUI originally shows the targets on all four buttons, when the cursor moves over the buttons, they reveal what they do, Strike, Recover, Increase Power, Decrease Foe Power.  How should I improve my GUI???

Anyone find any bugs, etc.??

Wow.  Wow.  That was amazing, I could actually see Mario running past lava and chains!!!  What program did you use to make this???  I must hear more, that was simply amazing!!!  Could I use it in my game perhaps (see the Batling:  Rise to Power thread)????

Sorry for booting this up to the front, and sorry to all those who put monsters into it, but Batling: Rise to Power is being canceled.  I cant do it anymore.  Too many bugs, so much dialogue, I can't handle it!!!  If anyone wants the sourcecode so they can adopt it or whatever, e-mail me at akumayo@hotmail.com and we'll work something out.

I am guesing that the items are represented by Objects.  So.... here is what I would do.  Say, object one is a bottle. Make an inventory item that is the bottle, say, inventory 1. So, build a hotspot (hotspot 1) that is it the same place as object one.  In the hotspots interatcion editor, click on Player Walks Over Hotspot, then click on Run Script.  The script could read:

DisableHotspot(1);
ObjectOff(1);
Display("You found a bottle!");
AddInventory(1);

That should work I think.

Right when you start the editor in a new game.  There is a GUI called INVENTORY, the up/down buttons have script written in their GUI script, but it doesn't work.

Another Bug:

The arrow GUI buttons on the custom inventory GUI do not scroll down or up through the items as they are supposed to.

Good sprite I must say, do you plan on making your inventory screen look like the inside of the girls little bag??  That would be kina' cool...  Anyway, what kind of scripting problems are you having, someone here could probably help.

I redid the monster.Ã,  You are correct in that it is an insect creature.



-Added mouthparts
-Added drool
-Changed mouth
-Changed eyes
-Recoloured wings


Any more suggestions?

i have succesfully completed a battle system in AGS.  I used an object that changes sprite slots to show your enemy.  And it is a one man RPG, so that makes things easier ;D.  I ran the attack commands through a GUI.  When the GUI is on, you chose your attack, and then the GUI script handles the damage, sounds, and overlays.
