Messages - Al_Ninio

I enjoyed the film.
Granted, it wasn't the book, and it wasn't at all similiar to how I imagined the book.
It may have been a bit too slapstick-y... But it worked.

One thing I didn't really like was Marvin.
The voice acting was perfect, as I knew it would be when I learned that Alan Rickman would be doing it.
The robot's design, however...
So... Cute... In an unsettling way.
Although they sort of made up for it when:
Spoiler
The original Marvin (from the TV series) made a little cameo. Sweet.

Slartibartfast was also quite awesome, and the whole Magrathea bit... Just... Wow.

<@Al_Ninio> There are rules you know.
<Hotspot> but but but!
<Yutzster> I'VE SEEN MARK'S CAR BEFORE, THOUGH
<@Al_Ninio> YES BUT NOT WHEN YOU CALLED IT

Ohhh yes!

On a different note, I would love to come, but Mittens is main priority, and would be much cheaper for me.

While on the topic of concept albums:
I have recently acquired Mastodon - Leviathan, a concept album based on Moby Dick.
It pretty much rocks.

Did System of a Down really sing the Zelda song?
Y' know:
"Link, fill up your hearts,
so you can shoot
your sword with power"

Nope:

Awesome nonetheless.

I pirated Psychonauts out of impatience.
I'll admit at least that.
But whenever it gets here, I am so going to buy it.
Seriously. Even though I already have it, and almost finished it, I simply cannot wait to spend my money on that little piece of pure awesome.
And I sure as hell am going to pimp it to everyone I know.

Awesome, Yeknomten.
I too will download it when I get back from school, that ORWO 'sneak-peek' made me very much interested in this game.
But now, back to revising for the art history exam. -_- Go away, Pollock, I don't even like you. :(

As a sidenote: yay, the FOREGOs made Joyce register. :D
Rigging Counting the votes was worth it, then! :D

I really just like the way they sound and thought others should be given a chance to listen to them...

Then why not use this thread to bring people's attention to a lesser-known band?
I mean, you yourself said that SoaD was on SNL... I'm sure most of us have heard of them.
If we're on the subject of political bands: Refused would be good band to check out.

Yes.
Anyone who doesn't like SOAD is a republican.
Let us go on a witch hunt.

This game is incredibly awesome.
Laugh-out-loud funny, surprisingly large amount of dialog (for a platformer), and the artistic style is simply... amazing.

I recommend this game to everyone.

I want to share references with people!

That is a nice watering can.

It could just be my computer acting up, but that's a nice 404 you've got there.

It's pretty nice, in my opinion.
The clouds could use some more shading.
Maybe add some shading to the tree to suggest the shape of some leaves.

Also, the cottage creates some sort of inconsistency, as the roof/door/window colour is quite saturated, as opposed to the rest of the picture.

Pfffft, "catitude"!

It's my sister's Pekingese dog! :D

(Couldn't be arsed to finish it... Fur is impossible!)

Rather old, but amusing.
The first time I saw it it was an essay attributed to Mark Twain, not sure of that, can't really trust the bookwarez scene THAT much.
Here it is:

QuoteFor example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped
to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer
be part of the alphabet.
The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later.
Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all.
Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants.
Bai iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi
ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz
ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli.
Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud
hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe ingliy-spiking werld.

Andail - I always seem to misplace those ears...
I prefer the original mouth, though. Thanks! :D

Oliver - I don't really get what you're saying about the chin, could you elaborate?

Here's a quick zombie-pirate-thingy, with really quick colouring. It's somewhat gory, so I'll just link to it: [Link]

Quite possibly this.

The book is Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair.

The mouth is perfectly proportionate, according to Loomis. :P

But now that you mention it, he does sort of look like my sim. :o

Edit:

And here it is, rather sloppily inked (in Creature House Expression 3):

Thanks. :D

Here's a new one, sort of inspired by Tony Moore.

Gee, this is just like Bejeweled, the ever-so-popular puzzle game that recently got a sequel.

... Except this one has animals.

Fun nonetheless.
