Riverworld book's saga from Philip Jose Pharmer (It has actually a failed pilot tb show and a bad strategy videogame) but It could be a very very good adventure game, With elements of Sapiens (Survivial simulator), very very dialog based, and with a great adventure to accomplish, and with great possibilities of arcades and strategic combat/administration engine.
Once I thougth 'bout make it, but is very far away...

a lot of thanks for your feedback, again. This time your help could be a lot more useful to me.

The unique reason of the "musculation" of the nudes, is that is only a pattern, a matrix to me, to know how its supossed to be the muscles in the nude patterns, for future animations of all characters. My next step when I will have fixed the legs will be the clothes, and there is when the "natural position" of the body, the shades and the face will make a character ^^

You maked the legs withouth references? I draw comics since I was a child, but I think the legs was always my worst point.

Well, the thing is they are only nude patterns... In a final art they wear clothes, or if they're nude (not a walkable animation character, sure) they're better drawed to show the nude parts. (This is way the feets and the genitals are undone)

the thing is that I was experimenting 20 minuts with the legs and no found much solution... Actually I'm having problems with the female nude pattern xD

EDIT: Male and Female

Sadly (Because the idea of drawing characters in little 320x240 resolution was inspiring to me) I decided to change my very short 320x240 game in a short-medium game with 640x480 resolution. (Due things about the background, 3d backgrounds converted into 2d...)

This was the last topic, about the low res characters:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=37397.0

I simply Resized x2 the first pattern, and this is the new first nude sample (in comparation with the last, resized). As they (at least the nude, to be more or less realistic)  are dificult, I hope someone could help me with some basic things about my first "sometype-realistic" low res character. (my other lowres characters from others games aren't realistic)

I'm still waiting to someones help to translate my game about to release from spanish to english... And I suposse isn't that difficult!

About the thread itself, I think the lovers of classic adventure games mostly they know english.... The most of people, well. It's not a real problem for people capable of PROGRAMING...

There is much skepticism in this post about the quality of TLJ and Dreamfall.

Adventure games go about puzzles? I must be forgotten anything. Adventure games don't are about going from A to B (with more or less complication) and seeing a wonderfully written story full of enjoyable characters, moods and conversations?

I think The Longest journey was one of the best adventure games since the classics died in computer gaming terms. TLJ was extraordinary LONG (a great thing, I think about adventure games), with a great fantasy world (such fantasy and sci-fi) to explore, infinite conversations and enjoyable characters.

And Dreamfall is the better and more depth "interactive movie (to say easy)" I played ever,  It's not simply a movie; You can watch Dreamfall complete in 40 videos of 10 minutes in youtube, and it's not the same that actually playing the game; suffering with the depth of characters, the sad story, the MOST FRUSTANT ENDING EVER.... wha... no words.

I have one doubt... By all the impressions give me this pic... It seems like the sprite will need to be a splash pic of an enemy in a first person RPG classic way. If I'm wrong tell me, cause is the total feel I got.

The other option is the possibility of drawing the sprite of the creature like a normal third person adventure game. But, what is the real intention?

oh my god!

I normally don't post without saying one thing or posting an entry...

But I need to aplausse to Medusa! Great!

Well sephiroth, about the "dark line", is only on the body samples, in any final characters the colors will be fine.

Hudders, you are totally rigth.  Your character is one ligth year in the future; I'm always imcapable of making a character in this "freehand" you make; They haven't any sense never... I have problems to animate sprite art... More to make characters with personality as you did.

In last term, I'm gonna make one background or two for two generic short games, and xperiment a bit with the characters in the backgrounds, to realise what is my better and good way to do the characters.

Sephiroth, I really hope to do some short games, I have been working too much years in my primal project xD thanks ;)

Mmmm, is muy same original idea, but instead of white, the eye color.

Yes, the characters maybe still be realistics... but.. they look Absolutely like ZOMBIES!! xD

damm.

rbaleksandar, thanks for your advices. But... The characters have always to look rigth or left? :\ They can't talk to the player, as example?... is a problem.

There is no another experienced pxiel artist in this problem?

Thanks again for all the feedback!

mmm, I will try if I can make enougth bigger the head to make the eyes with 3 pixels instead of 2, without making a too much big head, thanks for it! ;)

I haven't succes in make greater eyes (3 pixels don't work, results worst than two pixels).

Another option is make moooore bigger eyes, or use a technique that I don't know.

Anyway, I don't think they seem exactly cross-eyed. More people think that?

thanks!

I'm still looking for feedback.

x3 Scaled.

Althougth I listen carefully Evil's thougths, this work is continuing with the original samples, and resized directly x3 for better seeing in firefox 3.

The reason cause I haven't yet changed the sample body by other patterns (like bigger head) is that I want to (still now) continue with the "more """realistic""" proportions)

(And the hands aren't made it well in this sample bodys)

Keeping this style (but I can accept doing the heads a little more bigs) there any more feedback about the "betterment" (I love this word from a Terry Prattchett book) of the sprites?

the problem with the Evils' edit is that is changin a lot the style, and I'm not comfortable with the exact change he did.

Thanks ;)

Alek is a classic rebel young-one in a metaphysical goth age, in seek of parents and girls attention. Usually he get in a lot of troubles, 'cause his attitude and looks.

My very congratulations for your game,

since I was betatester to this final version, I need to congratulate for your good work making a Hard-scifi game that make me think in great RPG settings like Traveller or any common but good sci-fi setting.

I have some problem too with the multiple ending, This what I said you tu number the endings, to make sure that a expensive-time player Can see all of the endings and he knows he had.

congrats ;)
