I know some Kickstarter campaigns get a lot of negative attitude, but that's not what I want this post to turn into. I love adventure games and great art, so when I come across someone making a game in a style I enjoy, I get pretty excited. I came across these two in the past week and thought I would share. I wouldn't share them if I didn't back them myself.

Jenny LeClue

You play a little girl who is trying to prove her mother innocent of murder. I like that there is a physical narrator to go along with the choose-your-own adventure theme. The artwork looks beautiful--setting and characters. The only downside is a possible December 2016 delivery date (depending on funding amount and number of episodes), but I'm fairly patient. It looks like there's a good sized team on this one.

Kaptain Brawe 2

I never played the first Kaptain Brawe, but this has me interested in playing it! The team looks awesome (check out the link), and I'm already a fan of the artwork and theme. You can order the new game and get the prequel (for $20!) or a bunch of other offers. July 2015 release estimate.

Well, I've been MIA since June, so I'll probably work on that never-ending game at home. It also means the chance to try out Photoshop CS, my mum's waffle maker, and my mum's bread box.

Christmas means a time to go home.
Which means not just liberty but leave.
Which means no duty, inspection, formation, or uniforms.
Which means sleep, doing what I want when I want, driving, partying, and civvies.
Which means cooking good food, grocery shopping, chilling with friends, and relaxing.
Which means Christmas dinner and holiday parties.
Most of all, it means family and friends.

I'll try to upload the game soon, but the link works for me. I don't know why. What is the error you guys get?

ESCAPE - from the garage

http://www.mds.macon.ga.us/~mds06123/Escape_garage.zip

This is the first game that I made that is half-way decent. There is only one room and no player character (first person view). Tell me what you think. I'm pretty sure there are no major bugs.

Thanks!

I was cleaning out a few boxes full of magazines and newspapers that belonged to my father yesterday. I came upon a magazine entitled The ToastMaster. It was a special issue on humor. So, I flipped through it and found an interesting article on the old topic of male vs. female interaction. I must say, I really enjoyed this part, though:

The whole article is here (image format, sorry).

Humor is good for the health. Yeah, I'm liking this issue of The ToastMaster.

General Discussion / Re: Jealousy

A negative googol.

I don't get jealous...or maybe I live in such a deep fantasy in my head that I am incapable of being jealous.

Most of my friends are guys. I guess that's because I can be labeled as a "tomboy" and guys feel unthreatened (like...I'm not trying to be more than friends). So...I figure it this way: I can have a lot of guy friends when those girls only go on to have one boyfriend at a time (because guys watch their girls like territory and girls here don't believe in "just friends." Haha). I win in the long run.  8)

That's a cool temple ring. I had my ears pierced in second grade, but I haven't worn earrings for many years now (about seven). Still, my ears will not close up. I don't have many piercings or tattoos. I wouldn't open myself to the danger of dirty needles. I see more and more people with piercings and tattoos. It amazes me. It somewhat attracts, but almost repulses, me. Haha.

I went to volunteer at a health fair at the mall this past weekend. I got to walking around the other booths and learned quite a bit. I picked up an interesting article about mouth piercing and all these young idiots teenagers who got it done wrong and have problems now, which rack up their bills/having to pay back their mommy and daddy..

Does anyone know why tattoos might make it so an athlete is disqualified at a track competition, such as pole vaulting? It makes no sense, especially if it's just a celtic design on the neck.

I loved this. It made me laugh. Coffee and cigarettes. Haha, what a great diet. I like the part with your friend smoking the cigarette. He is one fine looking boy. Nice editing. I like the music too.

What kind of video camera did you use?

A big list of the sites thus far.
I'm working on the list, taking out broken links and adding descriptions and re-sorting them into categories.

General Discussion / Re: Emergency numbers
Tue 22/06/2004 03:36:40
Just randomly throwing this out:

The Cinema's number here is 971-1010. Now, one time I dialed this number, but not quite. The 7 button didn't get pushed down far enough, so I ended up dialing 911. Haha.

When asked for you number by someone who you would like to pull a prank on/a dumb person/an unwanted person, just reply, "Sure. My number is ninety-one, nineteen, three, seven, eight (91 19 378) (911-9378). " Or something along those lines, just so the first three numbers are 911, or whatever the emergency number is. It works sometimes. Maybe I just know some stupid people...

Good Old ASU, Our track regionals where held there. I live like 30 mins away from it. Nice Area. What events do you run?

I run cross-country (right now the courses are set for 3.1 miles/5k) in the fall. In the spring I run track, the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters (about 1mi and 2mi) and randomly the 800 meters. My off season time (winter and spring) consist of lonely runs with a few road races. I might also do swimming this winter, but I'm not sure.

General Discussion / App State CC Camp
Sun 20/06/2004 20:37:54
I may be going to camp for the first time ever (whoop de doo). At first, I didn't mention it to my guardians because of the price, but they found out and said it was okay. I'll just work off the $365 for them later.  ;)

Anyways, I'm a die-hard runner and my coach reccommended a cc camp for fun. The price includes bed and food. There are talks and instruction classes, with some Olympic runners talking. There's a race on the last day and awards are given out then. The camp is co-ed. Everyone is put into groups according to their speed, but they can move from group to group. There are dances at night and places to go on free time. I think it sounds like fun.

What: Distance & Cross Country Camp
Price: 365 USD
http://www.conferences-camps.appstate.edu/sports/trackandfield.php

So, I was wondering, if by any slim chance, has anyone here done a camp like this before? What are your thoughts on it, and would you reccommend it?

I have my character move to a point (to the window). I change the view and animate it (opening the window). I change the view back to normal (normal view).

Unfortunately, the sprites do not align up where the character is. Will I have to change my sprites so the character aligns up? My sprite that I animate has both the window and the character in it. Will I have to split them?

I don't want to get too far into my game without feedback about the graphics.\

Paintovers used: ?? Some office man and office lady (Indiana Jones, I think). If I re-find the site they're from I'll edit...

What do you think of his look?

I'm wondering about her dress. I want her to be somewhat professional, but sexy. I have two types of dresses here. I'm wondering if I should make her hair grayscale or keep it a washed out yellow (for blond).

AGS Games in Production / 3981: 15%?
Sun 13/06/2004 01:28:45
This will be my second game when I finish it. I'm thinking of doing a bunch of stories in the series of 3981, taking place in the same place in the same year, but different people. Not sure yet, but that idea is still floating around. If that idea lives, then this shall be known as 3981: Mark or something.

Main Idea
3981 takes place in an anti-utopia future in Cyria, Pangea. You play Mark, a young artist trying to live. After having his first commission, Mark witnesses a murder. The murder of the crime is actually Mark's commissioner. Mark becomes wrapped up in the whole situation. Can you (Mark) finish solving other mysteries that unravel? Will you be able to stop any more murders before it's too late?

Game Stats
Grayscale, with some saturated colors.
Completed Rooms: 7
Completed Animations: 6
Completed Characters: 3 1/2
Music: 0
Progress: 15%?
Release Date: Not sure yet. I'm always busy, which makes this is an on/off project. Maybe late 2005 or early 2006.

Crazy. I was just looking at this today:

It's just a guy writing about how to write riddle poems. There are a few good ones in there too.

Ah. I like this one...I think I used to play this when I was a kid. I was in kindergarten when a sixth grader showed it to me. Hehe. I loved it when no one else would understand. :)
