Parallel structure is a good flowing tool. If you use good grammer and nice sensory detail and I think you will be fine. Choosing a kind of writing style really depends on your audience and the tone, which affects mood, you want to set.

Now, for I myself like to write, where might one get their novel/book/writing/comic/etc. published? Does one just send their work following some guidlines to a publishing company?

It looks promising...

[edit] Hm...I think it's pretty good. It's just a tad slow on uploading, but I'm pleased with it because I'm just using text and small gifs. There are no ads and lots of space. [/edit]

All three movies: Great for a movie. ***** (5/5)
The book (or books, however you want to see it): ********** squared by the depth of space, cubed by time, and multiplied by infinity.

It was kind of hard to remember the book this time, for it has been two years since I read it, so I couldn't do a really good comparison. Anyways, the movie was well done. I didn't like some of the actors, though, because they didn't fit what I thought that character would be like. The scenery was beautiful.

I currently do not have a cent in my name. I just began to teach my sisters how to play the piano. I don't get paid until the end of the month. Two sessions each week for each sister all month long. $40 a month.

I do support Buy Nothing Day ( http://adbusters.org or http://www.buynothingday.co.uk/ ). I also support Buy Nothing Christmas ( http://www.buynothingchristmas.org/ ). Seriously, Christmas is getting more and more materialistic. Unfortunately, two people from school got me presents (soap and a calligraphy set). So, I ended up giving them listening CDs (The King of Torts) and a book (Dracula). The book I had bought to read for myself later on and the CDs were won by my dear mother (so I really didn't spend any more money). I really wish they would have returned their presents and given the money to someone else. I tried to get them to, but they would not. I guess I'll have to go sell them and give the money to the orphanage myself.

I just remembered something. In the article "What is and Ain't Grammatical", Dave Barry makes fun of the English language. He says that the colonists who came to America they rebelled against the British grammer in the Declaration of Independence. He says that they deliberately misspelled words. Dave Barry also has a lot of other amusing things to say in that article.

Here it is (search for "What is and Ain't Grammatical"):

Ghoti <--- look, I spelled "fish"!

"GH" as in couGH, "O" as in wOmen, and "TI" as in staTIon.

Nellie, here's what you can do... instead of saying "shoo", just say "beet it", "piss off", or "git lost".   Or, "Yoo dertee littl helyuns, go bother yer muther er sumthin!"

http://www.ualr.edu/~owl/howtospell.htm

Also, which President (or some famous person) was it that tried to change the spelling of words? A reporter didn't like the idea and wrote an entire misspelled collumn on the topic.

I thought I would bring up Newspeak, which I love entirely. It comes in handy in situations where one cannot think of the right word to use.

This sounds like fun. I can't wait to see the games! Maybe someone can do a The Nightmare Before Christmas one. Dang, I have so many ideas, but zero time (exams and church activities).

I hope more enter. It would be a pity to have just two enteries.

I can barely read "Stand Alone Games presents". I see somewhat of a theme here, but, in my opinion, it would look better if you had one base image that you just changed the words. That is, if you want a theme. Um:

[base image] Stand Alone Games presents

[same base image] a game by Rey Hect

[same base image] made in AGS (Chris Jones, you are a pure genius!)

But that's just me because I'm boring. Otherwise, just have entirely different images (that have a significant difference).

Making stuff for the Sims is fun. Making people fight is fun. I have The Sims and the Hot Date expansion. I think Sims 2 is going to be quite nice. I want to see how they will act in certain situations.

Remember when Constantine went to battle with Maxentius in Rome for the throne? He was outnumbered at a bridge, but that night he had a dream. He saw a sign of the Greek letters Chi and Rho (looks like a P and X), which are the first two letters of the name "Christ" in Greek. Constantine ordered the logo to be painted on every soldier's shield. They won the Battle of Melvian Bridge. Christianity became the state religion. Constantine moved the capital to Constantinople, which divided the kingdom into the East and West. Uhh...yeah. I have a good history teacher.

I live in America, but I watch the BBC America channel and TechTV a lot (my mother is from the UK, so we tend to watch the BBC America channel *cough*KeepingUpAppearances*cough*). I used to watch Robot Wars for pure amusement until it got on my nerves. It's best to just mute and watch. I guess it's kind of like Junkyard Wars (I love that show). A competition to see who can build the best machine. Where I live, some universities/colleges have Bot Ball competitions. A lot of people are interested in it. There's more to the team effort than the personal effot, like in chess.

Critics' Lounge / Two Guys and a Girl--Colored
Thu 06/11/2003 03:24:59
Okay, first let me explain this image. I had a free class during Algebra II today, so I picked up my pencil to draw a simple guy. Then I drew another guy. Seeing them there looked kind of lonely, so I drew a girl. I didn't even expect to come home and do a line art of it, but I did. Tell me what you think of it. It's my first time doing lineart with Photoshop's pencil tool. I like the effect it gave.

They're kind of big, so I'll post the links:

[Edit]
I decided to color it after a long time of no fun all study. The image is still big (154 K).

Tell me what is wrong with the coloring (not the structure of the people, because I already know they look funky).

Just to clear things up a bit more. In America, you...

...are responsible for yourself at the age of 18.
...can go to jail at the age of 17.
...can legally drink outside the home at the age of 21 (of course, your parents can let you drink inside the home).
...can drive at the age of 16, but only others after six months of having your license.
...can drop out of school at the age of 16.

I dressed up this year. I was one of those annoying brats who knocked on strangers' doors for candy. Best thing about it is that I'm short (5' something) and skinny (...less than 90 lbs...) and I was wearing a mask, so I could pass for a sixth grader (I'm a sophmore who will grow no more). Plus, I was going around with four of my younger siblings. Great fun. I ended up with three lbs. of candy, 135+ pieces (yes, I took an inventory of it all), and I hit Publix, a school, and about 30+ houses. Great year. Last year I barely got 2 lbs. It was skim pickings.

I don't have photos from this year yet (I was a skeleton), but here are some from last year. I was Little Red Riding Hood risen from the dead...but most people thought I was a vampire. Maybe I should have worn white make-up.

Oh yeah, I live in a house with a long driveway, so no one ever visits us for Halloween.
