What sucks is... I imported a gift into the sprite editor for AGS to have... and it took the sprite to walmart and exchanged it for cash.... Damned ungrateful program...

The way I look at it... either way I'm screwed... I love hearing people say Republicans love to go to war, Democrats don't raise the military pay much (and in my experience its true), but I've been deployed to a war zone with both a republican, and a democrat in office (Clinton and Dubya)... I've seen a high (9%) payraise with a democrat and a 7% with a republican.... so it really doesn't matter.... in less than 90 days... I'll be home....

So yeah... I don't vote... because in the end... I'm screwed...

Personally... I type faster than I search,point, click... so the interaction editor actually slows me down... besides being a programmer by nature/hobby/future job I tend to think in script/code more than real words...

Long ago a young man plays D&D with his friends... he creates a Cleric named Alynn, and rolls to see if he has any wild magic abilities... he does.... his eyes glow, yellow of all colors... It lets him as a human see in darkness as if it is daylight.... he also gets a -4cha modifier to all human races (-3 for magical races).... Alynn the Yellow Eyed was born... Hense the Yellow Eyed Studios Logo I go by now (still working out the kinks in the Logo... keep an eye on critics corner)...

Later comes MUD... in which I make another Priest with yellow eyes... he is a pervert... and a skeery forum moderator (not here though)

Strange I have plenty of areas that I use this in.... Oh! one question... do you have Don't automaticly move in walk mode checked? Maybe thats why it works for me as I had to make moving handled by scripting, I had to set it this way to get the effects like you talk about...

That could be nice... kinda the way it works in Zelda (the old top down versions) could make for some very interesting transitions... However this is problems I see with it

if the rooms are different sizes how will you tell AGS to scroll the next room in at at what point

IE walking up stairs to a long hallway where the stairs are all the way to the left... so you scroll up, but would AGS scroll it to the middle, or scroll it to where the character comes in at... so it would take more than just adding the transitions... how those transitions work with the room sizes are something CJ would have to think about...

Personally I use the Java programing conventions... but then again I'm a java programmer and I'm more comfortable with it... Since most of your projects will be solo, it really depends on your own style... coding conventions are there so multiple programmers can look at a piece of code and they can all add to it using the same conventions... and nobody will get confused....

Make up your own... use C's use Java... use whatever you want... unless you have a group of proggers... then you need to come up with one you all agree on...

In this instance it's a simple loop problem, you don't need to make recursive calls, which can be bad for the simple fact that recursive calls fill up the stack and will cause a stack overflow if too many wrong answers are given... (just FYI)

The water coming out of the tunnel looks more like its a waterfall... add some white froth from where the waterfall hits the river...

As far as less flat... If it's a map... shouldn't maps be flat? If not start adding some shadows from the buildings and the forest and the raised items... should help some with the flatness of it... Also you could also drop off some of the top part of the island to give it a more laid down feel to it, like you are looking at it from an angle instead of down on it, with odd lumpy things poking out...

Ok... here is my story

I just moved to Fort Knox Kentucky  and was going through a divorce with my ex wife... I was out of the dating scene for over 5 years and I really didn't want to jump back into it at all... So basically I sat in my barracks room, ate drive through, watched movies and played videogames... I then saved up enough money to buy myself a new computer... It came with 2 months free internet access through MSN so I went ahead and used it (and ended up keeping it cuz I liked it)... My friends were going on some website to chat, and they were hooking up with chicks left and right... Personally I've never done a one night stand, but at the time I was so mad at women in general I decided to say "fuck it all" and become a male whore... So I jumped on the website...

Basically my real life personality is the same as it is online, spending over 10 years on the internet at this time I know how to get into a chat circle that is already tight... you gotta add something be different... well that worked well and I became quite the regular... So basically I spent my time being a smart ass, it wasn't so much for looking for females... but just someone to talk to... since I really didn't know anybody in Fort Knox... Well there was this girl with the chat handle PAMELA and she just thought I was the funniest damn thing in the world... we spent time making fun of newbies together... and fun was had by all (except the newbies), and eventually we starting talking directly to each other instead of just on the main room...

One day I was feeling particularly rambuncious and I was in rare form... my slams were perfect... timing was on my side... Well Pam was no exception... she got it too... and much to my delight she played back... Then it came to the point where she called me something... what I don't remember... And I said I'm going to kick your ass... she replied well come up here and do it... to which I replied gimme your address I'll be there tomorrow... And she did...

My first words out of my mouth was holy shit! I didn't believe that was her addy at first... but it turns out it was.... So she has seen a pic of me but I never of her, so I asked what she looked like... "I'm really skinny, I have long brown hair and blue eyes. I don't know what else to say." My thought was Ok you are probably a heffer.. but you know what... I have nothing better to do this weekend... and since I'm driving up there I won't have to stick around if I don't like what I see... So the next day I went... and it only took me 9 months to hook up with this chick... when in reality... I really liked her personality... but I'm always weary of getting feelings for people over the net....

Turns out she was skinny... 105 5'6" pretty as hell... and we spent that weekend together... the night I stayed there... well we did hook up... but it wasn't really hooking up... turns out everything about her online was true... she was great... and we didn't hook up... we made love... I made that 140 mile trip (one way) every weekend since then... and we talked damn near all night online when I wasn't there... in the end... a year after our initial face to face meeting we got married....

6 weeks ago she gave birth to our son...

I truely believe I have found the perfect woman... one that understands that the video games and computer that I play with all the time (over 6 hours a day on days I work, and thats not counting what I play at work) does not replace her... and isn't jealous of them... she knows I'm a geek and loves me for it...

So yeah... things sometimes are skeery out there... but sometimes they work out...

If only now we could find a nice girl for the both of us on one of those matchmaking sites..... *sigh* I guess lightning doesn't strike twice
