Nice and very original competition idea there, thumbs up for that. But still, even thought I'm musician and creating cocktails and drinks is one of my hobbies and couple times even worked as a bartender so I know these things quite well... but I still think that it's not that easy to execute in musical way. Very nice idea but not that practicable, but in other hand it might let you create some great and interesting combinations nonetheless. Sorry that I'm not currently ready for participating such competitions.

That's very childish. Try to see the real beauty behind things... I mean like, "outside of the box". Your problem is that you can't avoid the associations of the thoughts of nudity... shame on you  :P

This reminds me of that funny documentary about a man who created a picture book only about closeup photos from hundreds of female's genitals. Of course, men had a lot of troubles avoiding the associations I mentioned when looking at the photos. The idea of the book was that there's unique beauty that you might miss because of these associations. Every photo shows you the fact that there's never identical genitals because each was different and unique. It's like a fingerprint!

In same way, if you see a woman breastfeeding her baby in open place like shop or park, would you yell "Shame on you! That's very inappropriate!" only beacause you can't avoid the associations when seeing her breasts? It's like you can't see, she's only feeding her child.

Hopefully you got the point I'm trying to say.  :P

I could try doing something as well, but I need more time because of the working at days. If you can postpone the deadline into next week, I could finish the song.

We will see, whether gamers are adult enough for it and able to see more than just the nudity.

You stole my words!

But since we have AGS games such as PISS and Nancy the happy whore, there's nothing wrong with such innocent nudity this time. (laugh)

I would be interested of composing this game.... althought I really would need to study more about traditional irish instruments and music.  (roll)

Oh, and yes, I do not make midis... but full audio of real sounds.  8-)

Finally, the problem solved. Friend of mine did the midi file. This topic can be locked if you will.

Would it not be easier to go straight from sheet music to keys?

I can't read notes... I only know the key letters and that's it.

I'm not sure to where I could have posted this topic.

I need some help. I have one piano song which is still not done into midi file. I can't read notes and for me the only way to learn piano songs is to use available midi files from internet and learn the keys from midi data by using various software.

So is there anyone would like to help me and could make midi file from sheets?

WTF? Retina was not even voted for nomination phase  >:(

Oh, right... Retina was made in 2012 whereas the nomination is for 2011 games....

sigh...

Another bump.

Tzachs is right. This game deserves a lot more recognition  ;)

Hi guys.  ;D

This was incredibly hard work mainly because of schedule and I was running out of time so I barely managed to compose everything needed... and in last possible day I had to work into 3.00 am (together with dualnames) in order to be able to finish the soundtrack and have the game ready for the bake sale. That tells you something about our devotion for the game and for the bake sale. ;)

Here's two important songs from the game as a demonstration:

Memories of the past

Please enjoy!

Also, I'm not sure solo saxophone tunes would fit a heavy sci-fi game... but then again, maybe?...  :-\  It's just that for some reason I imagined Kenny G's kind of sax pop. Now, if it was some really dark and strange modern jazz.. that could be an interesting combination.

Still, the post is taken and bits of the soundtrack I heard are pretty damn good!  8)

Grim, to my knowledge, I haven't published yet anything for the soundtrack, so what "bits" are you talking about?

No offence, DutchMarco, but I really would have hard time trying to fit sax sound there, althought I haven't seen much of the game yet.

Umm.. who exactly is moderating this contest? Isn't it already over?

Sigh...  ::)

Still waiting... and nothing heard from either Mode7 or Dualnames...

Am I bumping for nothing?  ???

Go ahead Atelier and continue our AGS tradition  ;)

Sorry for delay. I am afraid I must  leave the honor of making the next writing contest for someone else, as I have been so long away from home now and no internet here available.
#38
Now I feel really shame. I didn't want to win just because I lured a couple friends to vote me  ::)

How's the voting happening? I have no idea. No specific site for voting or, what?

We just vote right here in the thread.

(And you wrote a damn fine story, so don't by shy about voting for yourself  ;) )

So, you mean, by voting, I just say here "I vote mr. X"? Lol, I really don't want to vote myself... I am not getting this contest that seriously ;D
