Sure thing Totoro.

Yeah, I wasn't even expecting to have more than a weekend off for Christmas, but my boss was in a generous mood.

I seriously think if I have 8 days to work on this thing, full days like when I started out on this project, it will be really close to completion.

My happiest day in a long time will come when I can say,

"Beta-testers needed..."

I think it's a little ignorant to say that because an American is redoing the film it will be "Americanised"...along with the obviously negative connotations you're including in that statement.

Steven Spielburg, while capable of creating crap, is very talented and could pull this off.

Yeah, i think I'll do the dress similar to ProgZmax's but I'll keep the legs as is.  I kinda like her strut.  She's an arrogant extrovert, so I think an exaggerated gate suits her well.

Holy crap, has it been 4 months since my last update?  That's sad.

I really wanted to have this game finished by now, but unfortunately I've been traveling for work off and on for two months, and have been unable to work on this.  I got back a couple weeks ago and got back into the swing of things.

So, I would say that the game is coming ever closer to completion, with most of the dialogues done, most of the animations done (still some kinks with Emily, as some have seen) and nearly all the hotspots covered.  I still have a few sprites to draw, and that whole ending to draw, but for whatever reason, I don't think that will take a long time to do.

I've got a week and a half off for the holidays, and I plan to work full days on this game.  I would love to say that I'll have a beta ready by new years, but that's not really a possiblility.  A demo, maybe.  But I'm not sure that I'll release a demo...I think it would spoil the game.

Anyway, sorry to have said that I would release it soon, but I didn't count on being stuck in Iowa for weeks on end.

Yeah, you know I think the reason I had such a hard time with this one is because of the dress.  I had a hard time imagining where her torso was, where her legs began, and where her ankles met her knees.  I think I will redo her without the bottom of her dress, and I think it will end up looking much better.

Still not sure about the dress moving, that will be tricky.

How do you think the head should move?

Thanks for the help,

Logan

How's this?  Any improvement?  I darkened the leg a bit and fixed the hand.  I'm thinking of trying to do the dress next.

Ok, I did your first suggestion and it worked like a charm.  Thanks for the quick response!

How do I fix it so that once my character finishes walking, she returns to the 0 loop, the downward view.  Right now, if she walks to the side, she stops on the first sprite of the walk cycle, which has her leg in the air.  I want her to return to the first sprite, in another loop...

Can you say that again?  Did you mean to say the problem can be solved using darker colors in the far leg?

Isn't there also one frame where it sorta jumps and looks bad?

This is a first draft of my main character's walk cycle.  Can I get some C&C?  I had a tough time making the closest leg look separate from the other.  I think there is some crappy shading on the legs too.

Wow, i hadn't looked at the City of Fortune topic yet, that game looks incredible!  Seriously incredible!  AGS will have a banner year in 2005.

Legend of the Lost Lagoon, and GoldLagoon...basically any game about a Lagoon.

Ah, it looks like you're probably right.  Still, I'm sure that property and tax records would be considered public information, right?  People have to be able to find out who owns what property, I would think.

Oh, and I'm not a stalker, just so you know.   ::)

Arg, 192 is a pay site.  you need credits!  blarg.

Sorry for being so cryptic.  This site looks very interesting.  Thanks!

SSH,

I don't think I need this information badly enough to hire a solicitor.  I live in the US and my office doesn't have a lot of money, so it sorta limits the options.

CJ,

I'm looking for documents that will help me figure out where a person lives, what kind of property he owns, where his investments are etc.  In the US, it's usually possible to do this online, as most government agencies use the internet these days.  For example, look at the documents available for say, Hamilton county in the US state of Ohio (you'll have to scroll down a bit):

http://www.searchsystems.net/list.php?nid=351

You can go through court filings, see if somebody is a sex offender, search property records by name, all sorts of fun stuff.  You can even get a satellite photo of land parcels by address or parcel number.  Not all counties in the US are this helpful (and few offer satellite photos!), but a surprising number are.

Farlander,

I have looked through the Parliament website, but I didn't find it terribly helpful.  I've also looked through some Scottish Council websites, and also didn't have much luck.

Everybody else,

Thanks for the help.

Oh, i tried that and I didn't seem to work.Ã,  I'll try again.

Edit*
Got it.  Thanks!

Word from Scummbuddy: You see that word "Modify" in the upper right side of your previous post? Please use it in the future, especially if it has been 2 minutes since your last post, and no one has even read it. Thanks

Another potentially stupid question, if I have one object on top of another, how do I change which one is on top of the other.  I've looked through the object related functions, and I don't see one that fits.  I'm sure there's an easy way to do it...
