General Discussion / Re: Vote Americans, Vote!

If it comes down to a difference of 1% in Virginia (or maybe it's 1000 votes) it triggers an automatic recount.  I thinks it's so close that there is definitely going to be an automatic recount.  Also, I hear it's going to be long and drawn out.  With that said, I still think Webb (the dem) will win in the end.

Surprisingly, Montana is very close but I think that will be settled any time now.  I also think Tester (the dem) will win.  That would mean the democrats will have a razor thin majority in the Senate, assuming Leiberman (who ran as an independant, but has always been a right of center Democrat) actually caucuses with the Democrats.

It's a very complicated year!

you could compromise and ask for a gift certificate for $150, but maybe that will serve as an even crappier expression of your mother's love for you.

How do you have taxation without representation, Steve?

Those of us who live in the District of Columbia (all 582,049 of us, that's 88, 267 more people than the entire state of Wyoming) have taxation without representation.

No congressional representation.  No senators.  Congressional oversight over laws passed by our own government.  We're a colony!  Don't get me started!

Today's mid-term election day in the US.  Please go vote if you can!

Any predictions?  Will the Democrats take back the House and Senate?  Does anybody care, other than me?

This is my original version of Emily Enough, drawn maybe four years ago:

This is one of the first backgrounds I drew for EE.  Originally I drew the entire game in these black outlines.

That place is definitely kind of ugly.  Maybe we can look around for other options?

This place will hold 20: http://www.cottage-canada-usa.com/listing/0057.htm

I'm sorta wondering how many people will actually come.  Last time Mittens was held in North America it was rather small, right?  From my own experience trying to get a US-based gathering going, it's hard getting people to come out.  But then again, this is MITTENs...

I might be starting a new job so i can't be 100% certain i can get the time off, but I definitely plan on going.

2000 bucks for the week is a killer deal.  We should scoop that up while we still can.

Andail!  i'm glad to hear you also appreciate Dune.  I don't know why people dislike it so much.  I mean, it's amazing!

As for emo/personal blogs...they're only interesting if the person is really hot and you're obsessing about them...at least in my experience.

My blog is mostly about politics and DC, or things that annoy me that happen in DC.  But Dune also comes up occasionally.  Cause it's so awesome.

My personal favorite is that rockabillly kid from 5 Days a Stranger.  You know the one?  The teenager?

I'm not sure why though.

why couldn't i just build a pyramid of sugar cubes?  is there some need to have it in hat-form?

I feel like i'll be able to find one of these somewhere...i actually found one at a hispanic store but it was brown sugar.  i feel like that won't work the same.

I love these threads too.  Especially when one of my games is mentioned!

I'm looking forward to Drug Bust, Yahtzee's latest Trilby game, Legend of the Lost Lagoon, and the Nataly Buchannon game.  I'm sure there are others, but these are tops in my mind.

Oh! Reactor 9, and all the other games Bernie will hopefully one day finish.

Looks pretty great for a first sprite.  I'd say his feet might be a little too large, and his raised ankle looks a little too curby, but that's a great start.

Maybe I couldn't appreciate it because my german sucks.  To me, it just seemed like a movie about a bunch of old guys sitting around a bucket that's on fire.   :)

Either way, I'm having a Feuerzangenbowle party come winter.  You're all invited!

But can someone ship me a Zuckerhut?
#97
Yes!  That's it.  Thank you very much, Venus!  We watched that film at the party.  The film seemed kinda lame, but the drink was fun to make.
#98
well, maybe the drink ended up being Glühwein, but i thought this was a thing people did that was a bit different.  Maybe i'm wrong and it's just a way to make Glühwein?

Hey there,

A couple years ago i attended this party in Berlin where you brought a bunch of wine and heated it up on the stove, then they put this metal slat over the pot of wine, put a big sugar cube on it, poured brandy on it then lit it on fire.  it was a really cool drink and party.  i guess there's some german movie about this particular ritual.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about...i'm looking for the name of the drink and some place to find out more about it.

Thanks

Logan
