kimbobo could you explain more?

correct me if I'm wrong... you want to make a 'death' room with three gui buttons or objects to restore, restart and quit game?

in this case, create the three objects. Go to their events list and put the code in 'Anyclick on object'...
the code can be as simple as that (assuming the button names are Restore, Restart and Quit)
Code: ags
function restore_AnyClick()
{
 RestoreGameDialog();
}

function restart_AnyClick()
{
 RestartGame();
}

for the quit button, if you want a confirmation dialog when clicked do this:

Code: ags
function quit_AnyClick()
{
  gPanel.Visible = false;
  Wait(1);
  QuitGame(1);
  gPanel.Visible = true;
  gIconbar.Visible = false;
  mouse.UseModeGraphic(eModePointer);
}

I'm not sure what cursors you use in your single room game, but if you want to disable or change cursors they are as easy as:
Code: ags
mouse.UseModeGraphic(eModePointer);
mouse.DisableMode(eModeLookat);
mouse.DisableMode(eModeTalkto);
//.........

by the way, the code above are taken from the global script. I'm sure someone will soon notice your thread and laugh at me hehehhe

I want to submit my voice but I don't want others to listen to it :S

is it that bad?  :P I'm sure your voice is great, this way it'll give other AGSers the chance to hear what you got and recruit you  ;)

I have submitted a link to my Youtube video on your blog. The video contains three of the lines that you posted. When I get a chance, I will compile a video of my little critter voice. I don't know if you need that voice though.

Thanks. and yeah I am looking forward hearing the little critter voice, I do have a young alien in the game. The child version of this hunter:

a humble opinion:
are you sure there's nothing in the rep_exec causing this?

Why only youtube auditions?

I think it'll be a great opportunity to create a voice acting library for AGSers.
...also, I don't want to waste time jumping from site to site, link to link, to find the file on the account of the time spent for talent evaluation and choosing suitable voices for the characters...

I will submit a sample of my voice sometime later today or tomorrow.

Thanks, looking forward to checking your submissions  :)

there isn't much info there - can you perhaps name some parts, what sexes yous after etc? For women and any unfilled parts....

I did not just hear that! I have many parts for both genders. I don't want to sound idealistic but I really do not consider any kind of differentiation between sexes AT ALL. I also don't think there are good or bad voices. Voices are voices :) I would even accept males for females roles and vise versa. I would accept a hoarse or a lisp or any cute vocal character ^^

I don't have much time to view websites and search for talents. I will only check the links following the rules on my blog post.

good luck.

NOOOO! no death scenes for anastronaut at all!! I don't want to see him die!!!  :'(

lol then you'd better guide him correctly :P

If he falls in freezing water you simply MUST have him pop back up and bob in the water in a big block of ice!!

(( kidding of course! ))

LMAO!!! but this happens only if he fell into freezing water through a narrow hole!! hahaa but I can't remove the image of him floating in two directions up and and down hehhee

I think in kodiak's image the room is more saturated than the character. maybe if the character is more saturated it would be more convenient...

I'm not really into faint emo stereotype coloring... he can be a miserable jobless sad immigrate, and, his apartment have colors, maybe a little cracks on the walls.. a broken lamp... a scratch here and there.. but i think his plumping must be perfect :)

bear in mind that he could have rented this apartment as he arrived, not built it from scratch according to his mood...

kodiak, your drawing style makes me wish even harder to work AGS with iPhone! great work man.

General Discussion / a good wifi adapter
Thu 06/10/2011 09:30:53
Hey all... I have a free wifi around our block that I've been using for sometime.. I connect by my laptop and my phone with no problems at all. I have a desktop though in another room where the signal is so weak. So I got a Belkin wifi adapter and a 3m long usb cable (works fine no length problem whatsoever)... It worked fine for a while, I had ALOT of problems later with it (losing signal, frequent cutting, hardware overheating...), I made a thorough research about it and finally came to a conclusion that Belkin sucks. (They try to overcome hardware malfunctions with newer drivers.... ugghh) so I wanted some advice what wifi adapter should I get now? I'd appreciate answers by people using wifi adapters not only reading tech comparisons somewhere....

this is the adapter I've been using:
