Well, technically speaking the magazine Level would be the "original" place for the images, since they were made specifically for that publication, and Junkboy just dumped the pictures on pixelation because that's where he resides...but it probably makes sense to link to pixelation too :)

Also, I think the blog I linked to shows the original games for nice comparisons

Read/look and enjoy.
Especially fun how the demake of Brutal Legend appears to be an awesome point and click :)

qptain nemo:
I quite like the idea, as it would probably generate lots of inspiration for those who tend to get stuck at certain points in their game-making.
So everyone starts from scratch, then they must regularly show up the required progress or lose? And the one with the most progress after - say - 6 months wins? Or will it go on until only one person updates, and he/she wins?

I'm flying from Milan MXP on July 8 at 6:20 PM. Since we have to check out of the villa on the morning of July 7, I guess that means I have a day in Milan (and need to find somewhere to stay). What are the rest of you who're flying out on the 8th doing? (AGA, Creed, Esseb etc.)

So Mittens has already happened? How was it? :P

As far as I recall, the first background blitz was created by either OneThinkingGirl or Erica McLane and it was indeed post-EZ time.

Sprite Jam is way older, especially taken into account the live ones on the IRC-channel.

Pre-EZ was just a chain of texts posted by Gilbert and CJ, neither of which are known for their high activity in bg-blitz contests...

Since a lot of trophies went missing after the demise of Neole's web storage service, I thought we could collect all the trophies people have made - and won - so far.
Not only would it be swell to see all the trophies in one thread, it would also allow those eligible for long lost trophies to once again include them in their sigs.

If you've got a trophy picture you've made but lack hosting, email it to me (petterlj at yahoo dot se). If you're already hosting a trophy image, post it here along with the name and date of the competition, and preferably who's eligible for it, if that's not too much to ask for.

I will gather all the contributions into one big trophy compilation.

Is Scotch also writing for that blog?

Yay, I came to CDF without scrolling down, which I think is cool since I'm not usually good with these kinds of puzzles

Icey games, we're giving you a trial period now. You really really have to
1. Post much less. We know it's hard to be young and restless and to need attention all the time, but we can't babysit you through every single morpheme you're trying to spell out.
2. Read much more. People are very annoyed right now because they are trying to communicate with you and give you useful advice, but you tend to fail to read it.
3. Follow all the rules. This means that before you post, you must be extra careful not to violate any of the - quite few and basic - rules we've set up.

I'm locking this now because attention is like ice-cream, too much will kill you.

And with posting much less, I mean don't go ahead and write a brand new thread to apologize for posting too much, I mean just simply keep the cursor away from the post-button and give us all some rest.

On a second thought, that should have been done before the authors were revealed...not sure it's a good idea at this point.

I think we should vote for best individual contribution!
Using google docs.

Eh, "my" picture has to be disqualified, as I just picked a random Benjamin Carre drawing. I didn't have the time or inspirational force to draw one on my own, and Vince sounded so desperate, so, well...

Anyhow, thanks all for participating!
Congrats to those who managed to nick two or more golds.
And thanks to Vince for hosting :)

Bulbapuck has my blessing.
Starting it in two weeks sounds like a fine plan, considering people are probably busy with exams and stuff now.
