Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Re: EARN MONEY

COLD, instead of bothering people at various forums all day long, just start making the bloody game. Nobody will care about you or your projects until you've got something to show.

And just remember that the dimes you'll collect from ads and donations will be liducriously small amounts compared to the hours you'll spend making the game.

Happy money hunting!

The idea with freeware is that you don't make money on it.

I think you should just get going and make a game first, and worry less about how to make money on it later.
It's exceedingly unlikely that you will get a "sponsor" if you can't show them something that resembles a playable game first.

music lover though I think it would have to be Simon & Garfunkel... Now THERE'S a voice.

Two voices, actually  ;)

Travelling Wilburys has to be one of my favourite groups of all time, even though it was more of a fun experiment than a genuine group.
Roy Orbison did the vocals for some really beautiful songs there, like "You're not alone anymore".

Apart from that, I think his voice was a bit too polished and "pretty" for my taste.

Pinback, even though you're the thread starter; it's customary to keep c&c out of this forum, let alone paint-overs.
That being said, your edit is a very good one, and I think it would make a nice topic in the critics lounge.

I don't usually drop in here, cause reading all the entries takes so long time, but I just read Phemar's...story...and I'm absolutely blown away.

A great piece of text in the most brilliant beat poetry tradition.

It's so nonsensical at times that it appears to be a bad translation, then it suddenly appears crystal clear for no reason...but full of awesome quotes nevertheless :)

Good work!

It's a cool project to build the MI world in 3D, but as stills, I'd prefer the 2d backgrounds any day

Yep. Snakes in the server.

We should really tell Snake to get the hell out of that server!

Please read the rules before starting a thread here.
You need to present a progression plan, along with two ingame screenshots.
Look at the sample thread to see how it's done.

PM a moderator, preferably Darth Mandarb, when you're prepared to modify your thread to meet the standards.
Good luck!

ahem, "lenient" moderator was actually a joke...

If you're gonna include moderation, you should probably choose a different quality than leniency...

I think it's interesting that this discussion has reached so deeply into the realm of gender theory, when very few games present any real character study whatsoever.

When was the last time you played a game that â€" in an informed and profound way -  discussed what it's like to be a man/woman? Maybe one out of fifty games features a protagonist and a plot that allow for a pertinent socio-cultural analysis. The rest are about pirates, adventurers, private eyes, apprentices, and whether they're male or female has more to do with esthetics and gimmicks rather than a desire to truly debate gender.

Men like to play women for several reasons (and this is very present in rpgs and mmorpgs; in WoW you have far more men playing women than actual women), but few have to do with wanting to be enlightened of how they work, think or function - instead it's more about identity and how you're perceived. It's like a social experiment; "I wonder how it would feel being female, for a change", and all you need is an avatar to maintain this illusion.

That's okay, we can speculate wildly instead

I demand the award for most lenient moderator, or I'll lock this thread and ban everybody involved.

That looks really nice, Darth, I'll probably steal most of it :)

And the text was surprisingly legible, I think you have a nack for Swedish

Ok, thanks a bunch everyone, and that looks pretty sweet, Junc :)

And there is a guy who's responsible for the computers and the networks and everything, but apparently he's not into webdesign...

Rick; according to the article, the doctors claimed the cancer had spread to the lymphs and the skeletal system, as I clearly wrote in my previous post.
I'm no doctor, but I'm sure that with that kind of development, the prognosis looks different.

#1538
Rick, I was just going to respond that I agree with you how the trade link played a part in the release is really a disgrace, but then I read in a recent article that the British and the Scottish governments are strongly denying such allegations, and I was like, huh.

Furthermore, this is what CNN reports:
Quote
"The overall impression was of a man very weak, unable really to engage in what was going on around him, and coughing quite violently at times," said CNN Senior International Correspondent Nic Robertson, who was able to get close and see him clearly.

"He seemed to be almost too frail to take part in this," he added. "His eyes were glazed over. His eyes closed several times during the four or five minutes he was on stage."

He was wheeled back offstage after the short appearance.

It is rather clear that Scottish doctors diagnosed him with a cancer that has spread to the lymphs and skeletal system, and such cancers usually permit their carriers a quarter of a year to live.

As much as I believe that politics can play a part in protecting/releasing known criminals, I think we must still accept that doctors have made this diagnosis, and that Scottland traditionally carries out compassionate releases.

What you think or bet regarding his chances of survival is not really relevant - people can live beyond a predicted date, and they can die before it.

Quote
It won't be long before we hear that he has had a miraculous recovery.

We'll see!

Ok, moving this to popular.

It seems to be basically the same 3-4 people producing enormous amounts of text saying basically the same things without moving an inch in any direction, so it doesn't feel very "general" anymore...

I hate the upper row of photos and typewriter font on "önneredsskolan". The photos have sick amount of detail... if you make school photos, make sure to keep them simpler, either zoomed or just with less tiny things on photo.

Right now they distort vision so awfully that it kills concentration and it makes hard to read the page. Like looking at a pad of needles or tip of scissors at very close distance. Maybe it's me being sensitive, not sure.

Ok, this is something I definitely need to address. I thought having a banner of photos like that would be a nice touch, but apparently they just distract the viewer?
I'm going to have dozens and dozens of photos randomly appear in banners, and I can't really go through them all to ensure a certain level of details.

I could really need more input on this...
