Green Boy, a hyperbole is only an exaggeration.

If you claim that a pizza is so small that you can barely see it, that's an exaggeration (unless it is literally that small). It doesn't become an understatement just because it's a matter of small size.

CJ, the issue isn't whether something is easy to steal, it's whether you physically deprive someone of something.

I wouldn't take an expensive camera even if I found it on the street; I would leave it at the local police and their lost and found department.

Adobe makes its money on companies, schools and other institutions that pay license money for its software.
Adobe probably doesn't care whether individuals come across pirated versions on the Internet, since a) it's very likely that said individuals would not purchase the software legally even without the piracy-option and b) Adobe doesn't physically lose money from having files copied.

I've never paid for any of my tool-software, but if I ever start a company I'll naturally purchase a license.

Heya Dave, just played the demo and will probably buy the game soon, just to support a fellow game maker.

The game so far looks pretty polished, with a nice atmosphere and lots of efforts into music (great soundtrack by the way), gorgeous artwork, and professional-sounding voice acting.

I have to say the demo probably wasn't a 100% up my alley, probably because the game play was a bit too "chatty" for my taste (I've never been a fan of this constant hero-sidekick bickering/joking, but it's probably a part of contemporary american jargon). And also:
Spoiler

Since it was very obvious that the guy on the window ledge was the one in the obituary, the process of combining the notes just to reach this conclusion was a bit painful.

Then again, the option to switch characters and utilise Joey's ghostly abilities seems very promising.

Nacho, please don't tell me that you think Berlosconi is better than Zapatero

I disagree.  If I do nothing I have not killed anyone.

With this kind of cynism, people will probably read your opinions about health care in a different light...

I think you have a good, very clean style. However, compared to your previous works, I have to say that this is - lacking better words - a bit boring.

The composition is very stiff and static, there are too few intriguing details - everything is bland and devoid of expression.

What if her pose was more dynamic, her feet less firmly planted on the ground, more on their toes, indicating lightness, what if there was an element of "evil" included, something to add a bit of contrast?

This comes from a person who's seen and critiqued probably all of your paintings thus far, so I hope you take it the right way...

"The maximum number of secrets"...a beautiful beautiful phrase

Snarky, you're absolutely right!
Bah, this is what summer break does to a teacher.

Your example is grammatically wrong, I would say.

her showing them off is in this case an inflectional action nominal, and should be treated as a noun.
"...as not breaking the pact", implies that whatever it refers to is a verb.

If you persist in using your original construction (although Intense Degree's suggestions are better), you would have to use a noun as an object compliment, resulting in this awkward construction:

Since this was her work, he accepted her showing them off as a non-pact-breaker

or with an adjective:
Since this was her work, he accepted her showing them off as pact-safe

Just to make them grammatically correct. Obviously, the solutions aren't very elegant :)

My pet peeve is the it's/its confusion. Even acclaimed writers tend to write things like "the cat waved it's tail".

So, to remind everyone: There is no possessive apostrophe for personal pronouns, like its, hers, and theirs.
Whenever you use apostrophe for "it", it indicates a contraction for  it is or it has.

I would consider Holland if [...] I get my passport sorted [...]

I think you won't need a passport to travel within the UE, just a simple ID. Or am I wrong?

You need passport for EU in general. For countries within Schengen it's enough with national ID.
For some neighbouring countries, like the Scandinavian countries, ID card is also sufficient, but I don't know where else that's the case.

I second Terran's proposition.

I don't wanna be a villain maximums, but I simply don't understand why people consider this something customizable. Chris put it their for a reason, just deal with it, or learn how to program on your own.

Actually, neither word would be pronounced with /z/.
Sense is simply [sens].

But in other words, especially after vowels, and sometimes after consonants if it's a plural marker, s would be /z/.

Let's leave this boring chapter and move on to more interesting questions!

It would like to add that the tradition of picking next year's mittens during a mittens meeting should yield to the benefits of being able to discuss it between more people and for a longer period of time.
After all, neither second nor third mittens were planned during meetings.

And with this, I cast my vote on Italy.

I encourage everyone who hasn't been to Amsterdam to go there, but for Mittens Italy just feels better for some reason.

sense - sence

Sence?

Anyhow, usually c and s differ in the sense that after vowels (and in some cases consonants), c is always voiceless, whereas s typically is voiced /z/.
Hence, words like ice and eyes are pronounced differently, but beginners/foreigners often miss it.

You might know this, just wanted to add something useful after my "sence?" comment.

Edit 2:
Dkh, in your current edit, you're way off.

EDIT: Yeah, sense - sence would be different. The quality of the final sound (the 's') is different, sense would be /s/ and sence /tz/ (can't use proper IPA symbols here unfortunately) basically, I guess.
sence, whatever that word means, would be /s/.

Small edit:
* Longer neck (he had none before)
* Longer arms and legs
* Shadows to indicate eyes and nose
* Changed pose to something hopefully more natural
* Added some highlights and changed some shading

Both Amsterdam and Rome are wonderful wonderful cities. I will totally endorse either location.

Since every fourth AGSer - and every third internet user overall - is Dutch, we can expect Mittens in Holland being flooded by locals next year.

Eric, are you saying it was bad to mock him for his bad communication skills instead of actually helping him?
