Arrgh, I sat too long with this and totally forgot what the original looked like, so now it's basically a brand new sprite.
Ah well, here's my version:

I understand the spacepaw thing and the cleverness of the logo, but I still don't find it entirely harmonic.
I think the three moons make it a bit disconnected - too many shapes that don't overlap. I don't have any better suggestions though...

And did you, as a winner, take it all?
#1664
Sure, I'll whip up something later tonight. It might come with a quiz too.

Ok, let's spoil the fun:
Spoiler

19. Bionic Bill Smith
27. Santiagarro
28. Nenomonkey
29. Monkeyspank

I know, the first three were kind of impossible I guess, but Monkeyspank had like fifty photos spread over the forums.
Ah well, game over!

My job is hanging by a very loose thread, and I've started searching for new jobs just to be safe. Yesterday I was on my first interview in almost two years. It was rather fun. I got to wear my suit and a tie.

Basically the market for teachers in my city is pretty screwed, and I've even considered  moving abroad. If your country has a demand for English/art teachers, write me a PM :)

Yeah I thought about that, but then again it's not really related to game creation, only community members.

19, 27, 28 and 29 (no, 29 is not Mattgoble, even though there is a vague resemblance) remain unnamed. I'll admit that only one of them should be considered fairly easy, and the rest probably demand special knowledge to solve. In fact, 27 can't even be regarded a regular member, but I thought the picture was fun and fits his reputation quite well.

Ah, it must have been Esseb who originally collected the mugshots then. So he can't enter.

Ok, obviously AGA is leading so far. I think there are a couple of really obvious ones nobody's got so far.

I went through some junk in my old computer and came across a huge directory of old AGS portraits. Probably hundreds, so I picked out some 30 and put them together.

Some of these are long since gone, and some are very old, which makes it quite challenging.

How many can you name? Put your answers within spoiler tags.
I think this collection was compiled by AGA, so if he participates here he won't be getting any prizes!!

Have fun!

Bah, I doubt anyone's ever heard of the new world. Or cares about it.

Let's sort out all the hypothetical ifs here.

Nacho, what mkennedy said was that if McCain had advocated death penalty for paedophilia, mkennedy would have voted for him, granted that Obama hadn't done the same.

However, McCain didn't support death penalty for paedophilia, and furthermore he didn't win the election, as Obama did, and Obama certainly isn't supporting death penalty for paedophilia.

So to answer your question, no, USA is not going to implement death penalty for paedophilia :)

Gotta love the titles CJ gave his creations.
"Cars", "Nuclear", "Space Station Keeper".

If CJ ever wrote a Tetris clone, it would be called "Descending Geometrical Shapes".

It took place in Waterloo in the beginning of the 19th century. That's about all I know  :)
I know he was placed on St. Helen in exile, but I can't remember if that was before or after Waterloo. I also know he lived on Elbe (spelling?) in the mediterranean sea in some sort of exile at one point.

Wow, I suck at history.

Next: The battle of Lützen

I'd like to add the age-variable here.

For teaching children and young teenagers, your pedagogical skills are far more important than your knowledge of the subject. Having done too much language studies will probably render you overqualified and eventually depressed.

For teaching on high-school level it's more important that you're a fluent, eloquent speaker/writer with some teaching tricks up your sleeve.

On an even higher level, it depends on the discipline. I don't think you need to have a perfect pronunciation to teach grammar (even though it will increase your credibility) and some professors in linguistics or semantics - or some of the more obscure branches - I've met were so introverted and unsociable they just barely communicated at all. They'd mostly mutter some technical terms and you needed to pick up the good pieces.

Hm, yeah I can admit that the eye-for-an-eye thread is turning out a bit junky.

Anyho... my point isn't that all threads must be great and 100% serious and fascinating, but at least consider if what you're just about to post is of any worth for anyone except yourself.

Just some general moderation-talk here.

Recently there has been a surge of very narrow, personal threads in this forum. Threads with topics like "which games should I play", pure advertisment-threads (linking to personal sites) and very specific tech-questions.

Try to remember that this forum is for topics that are in the interest of the broad community. Topics that can be appreciated and discussed by our general audience.

A known, trusted member that has contributed to the community before, may of course politely invite people to visit their new homepage/blog, but all spam must be kept to a minimum.

If you have a highly specific technical problem that is not related to AGS, you should first consult a website with an orientation towards the problem in question. Don't use this forum as a shortcut for any possible question or problem.

So before hitting that post-button, think: "Can this be of any help or interest to my fellow forum members?"

Thank you for reading!

Um, strictly speaking, I don't think "an eye for an eye" is literally part of Islamic law as its a quote from Exodus. There is Qisas is Islam, but that doesn't say explicitly "an eye for an eye". Pedantic, I know, but it makes the OP phrase of "literal" inaccurate. Of course "very literal" is not really good either since something's either literal or not... ;)

Yes yes, and "it's" is spelled with an apostrophe.

Pedantry aside, I'd like to emphasise that I'm officially against this kind of punishments, as well as death penalty, even though I'm ready to admit a sense of satisfaction. Simply because the message has thus far been that abusing and disfiguring women is an accepted way of punishing them for disrespecting men, in ever so trivial ways, and now there's finally an example being made that it's not okay.

But in general, revenge-based punishments are totally backwards and belong to the middle ages.
