The problem with claims that deal with the supernatural is that they are seldom falsifiable. If the predicted event or result defaults, there will always be an excuse or explanation involving even more intricate supernatural claims.

Reporter: Actually, this is a setup. The horse you just communicated telepathically with hates bareback riding...
Horse whisperer: Hm? Oh wait, he's telling me something more...Ah, he was just kidding! Quite a prankster, old Acorn!
Reporter: ...and his real name is Chess.

Is "Foreward" an intentional typo?

Hm, I'd say you have way too little material to warrant an advertisment spot here.

Personal advertising is generally not recommended here, especially if you don't have anything that even resembles a game production.

The car industry in my region is really going downhill, with some 3000 more or less permanent layoffs. This affects well over a quadruple amount of people in the end, with all contractors and subindustries.
Now is probably one of the worst periods for our industry in modern times.

I only wish I knew how to buy shares so that I could have snapped up loads of HBOS, RBS and other bank shares yesterday, and sold them on in a year's time for mega profits :D

I think you'd better steer clear from bank shares just a tad longer...

I think my family has lost around 50 000 euros in stocks so far, and I'm getting real problems getting a reasonable loan, now that I'm about to buy a condo.

I think the bailout packages are probably good as a short term rescue. However, I'm ideologically opposed the method, since it fuels a fundamentally flawed system. This is the backside of capitalism. It's bound to bubble and burst in cycles.

First of all, I'm not a doctor.

Which is fitting, since InCreator isn't ill.
He's just found an usual way of enjoying himself :)

Your first "symptoms" sounds like typical endorphine exudations, similar to those you can get from itching a bad rash (although intensified) submerging in hot water, getting a massage, etc. Those feelings can often be more intense than sexual arousement.
Why you get it is way beyond me, maybe it has to do with the sound of friction generated by hand movements. Never heard of it before.
Friction does have some strange effects on humans though, mostly negative, though, like fingernails on a blackboard and similar.

Jesus, it's embarrassing how lousy my games are. I need to make a new one just to clean up my record

Ahoy, Squinky, this be a good topic but the CL is only for getting c&c on displayed material :)

Oh, and regarding your query;

I don't really understand your problem. Is it:

1. You want another resolution on your end product, e.g. 640x400 or 320x200?
2. You want 800x600 but you're unhappy with how your handpainted piece converts after having scanned it?

To start with, don't think so much in inches; just in ratios. If you want 640x400 or 320x200 backgrounds, paint pictures that are in a 6.4x4 ratio.

Also, even thinking in DPI is a bit superfluous; just pick a DPI high enough to catch a satisfactory amount of details when you scan it.
Afterwards, changing to your desired amount of pixels can't be a problem unless you're doing something wrong. Changing resolution shouldn't change the ratio.

This is different for everyone, and it will change over time. Sometimes you've got the flow, sometimes you don't.

You've been here for like half a year, which is a bit short to make statements regarding community trends.

I personally think that the community is in a very optimistic and constructive phase, with lots of people returning, lots of games released - and in progression, lots of funny stuff going on.

Now that's a blog entry in my taste!

What I like with your journalism is the high level of integrity and neutrality, devoid of bias and fanboyism. Bravo!

I would comment on your blog, SSH, but I very quickly lose interest in everything that isn't exclusively about me.

Welcome back, Phil.

I think one of the strengths of Larry Vales was the naivistic, simplistic art. I hope it won't turn all professional and clean now.

During periods of leisure I sometimes grow various forms of facial hairstyles, but since I try to appear respectable in front of my students and co-workers, there is little room for experimenting.
That being said, I can't seem to push my hairs further than 1/4 inch from the skin anyway.
