GG, you look totally like I didn't imagine you. I imagined you much darker and a bit chubby.

Allright, seems like we have a winner :)
Good luck, Cat, and I hope you get more participants for your round!

Nope, the deadline was clear from the start. People will become lazy if we always postpone the dates. I have to say I expected more interest in this considering how people kept bickering about Loomy's blitz.

So there are two entries to vote on. I think both are hilarious; Cat's waterski rental and Loomy's Stable both involve anachronisms to a great comical effect.
The latter piece is quite breathtaking technique-wise, I must say.

lol @ sharprm

Pretty sleek blog, Helm, I think you're still improving nicely.
I've always prefered the ones with slightly less tangiable punch-lines; those that are purely philosophical, sort of.

But the obvious question is:
Where is CJ's moustache?

Please, Poncho, we're trying to maintain manliness here

The page simply says the site is down because it hasn't been paid for.
Nothing to do with the material on it, really

3 more days. I hope people are busy finishing their pieces! I think this theme has a lot of potential, if I may say so myself, but I could be wrong, obviously.

I say, this thread is manlier than ten other manly threads!
It's so manly it managed to lure Helm out of his lair! With bathroom-pics! Double jackpot!

I guess that asking my mom makes me less man, no matter if I had moustache or not.

Quote of the week!

We don't really need to insult eachother over this issue; either you believe or you don't, you free to share your opinions but don't start a flame-war, especially not in a rather sensitive thread like this one.

Je suis fromage?

Oops, I pulled a mittens in-joke and I wasn't even there, silly me.

I think you have broken just about every thumbrule about composition there is.

My advice would be that you place every object on a different layer and play around with them, to see where they look best.
#1892
It's not bad, but due to the location of the viewpoints, it looks like something from a 3D shooter. Perspective and composition could be much more harmonic, in my opinion.

In terms of lighting and shading, it looks undefined. If the lamp in the corner is the only lightsource, you need to start your lighting there and create some contrasts. The light from a lamp like that does not come in a wide cone; it hits the floor and the walls nearby in large circular shapes.

The colouring and the drawing technique, apart from those issues, are well performed and have a nice retro feeling to them.

Nice story, and may your neighbour rest in peace.

I personally don't believe in telepathic connections between pets and their owners (though I bet my right hand about 50% of all animal owners do, especially cat owners) but I can imagine that animals are very sensitive to feelings and moods, and some diseases can probably be sensed or smelled in advance.
Your story doesn't reveal:
1. How long had David been away?
2. How long had David been sick?

If David had been feeling bad for a long time, maybe his cat had got increasingly worried and turned to David's - and his own - allies for consolidation. If David had been away at the hospital it would be natural that the cat started looking for a new host. Cats can seem very oblivious and non-chalant to humans, but they always make sure they've got someone charmed enough to feed them.

Either way, it's a touching story, even if you don't believe in the supernatural.

When it comes to gender and sexuality, Japan has a nice tradition of making it weird.

Great activity, GG! I'll definitely have a go at it

R.I.P. dear thread

is this the only background in the game?  If so, that's fine ... but please then post a title/option screen (something else) to show more than just the same background!

Much sex. With everything (many inventory items and cool locations like torture cellar)

There are several locations planned, but apparently not made yet. Which renders this thread a bit premature.

Threads in this forum should display two different screenshots. It doesn't count if you just change characters.
#1899
Okidoke, let's allow 640x as well, just to appease as many as possible.

It's one thing having a scene or two where the character can be weightless in the sense that the whole screen becomes a walkable area and the character is animated as hovering, in profile.

But if you want to create a game with objects hovering around, bouncing and colliding with other objects and walls, and moreover create clever puzzles based on weightlessness, then you're opening a whole can of worms. You're basically gonna have to script a physics engine.
