Do you remember the old ez-boards titles? I think only Helm reached the "fountain of knowledge" title, with 5k posts or whatever it was...ah, fun times

I'm not particularly fond of the first ones on display there, Nik...

Both GG's and Darth's are better, especially the simple elegance of Darth's note there...really nice.

Too washed out. No need to lose all contrast while adding those shadows. For instance, making the light-bulbs glow would do miracle to this background.

Bad news, my boss won't give me any days off that week.

That's a shame, I really wanted to see you guys!
Ah well, have fun without me.

Ah, Blazej und Manolo, how could I now resist paying at least a short visit to mittens, even though my appearance there will be as swift as the beat of a butterfly's wing (and surely as graceful).

My pet peeve is definitely the ink cartridges. The printer itself costs a hundred dollars or so...and after a year you've easily spent twice that amount on ink alone.
The idea is just insanely environmentally unfriendly and expensive. Instead of just refilling ink into an container - I mean, ink itself is rather cheap, we're not talking liquid gold or perfume here - you have these bulky disposable plastic cartridges that must be tossed after one use.

One day, when my wealth has increased a bit, I'm gonna buy one of those larger printers/plotters to which you can actually buy ink in large packages and re-fill yourself.

But if a baby is born before the legal abortion date (24 weeks gestation in the UK) then doctors are not allowed to help it.

Whilst this is probably not true, it does raise an alternative question -- should doctors always be forced to help people even when it's not the best thing to do? For example an old man in his 90's, pretty much a vegetable with no quality of life; yet by law the doctors have to keep him alive on a plethora of machines. Is this fair on him, or on them?

In reality, doctors and caregivers have always been forced to keep a balance between resources spent and expected gains.

There is no law (at least not in most countries) to "keep him alive on a plethora of machines" if he's 90 years old and dying. After a while a decision will be taken, between doctors and family, to de-escalate the life-supporting machines.

Having worked in lots of places where people spend their last days, I've witnessed on numerous occasions how doctors and nurses eventually have decided that a certain caretaker's life is "over", and this is typically when they cannot support themselves in any way (neither breath nor eat or drink) and are unconscious, upon which the doctors cease to provide drip and oxygen and just let nature take its course.

After this point, the elderly in question is left with a relative, or a designated "watcher" (I've had this position a couple of times) to just hold their hand and keep their mouth moist with cottonpads soaked in water, and then all you do is wait for the breath that will be their last.

Only if a person is not dying more or less directly because of sheer age, you talk about euthanasia, and that's another, much more complicated issue...

I've heard most of the scenes with Indiana doing stunts are CGI.

No I haven't, but it wouldn't surprise me.

My thoughts:
1. What SSH wrote is outrageous and probably not true.
2. Aborting babies should be allowed.

This is such a worn out topic that I can hardly bother to elaborate more...

Nice activity :)
I might contribute with something if I get the time, I'm really inspired by your work here!

Avoid the burn/dodge tool like the plague, that's the best advice you can get.

You don't really need a newer photoshop for this, just vary the opacity, size and colour of the brush and you'll do fine.

Bad news, everybody!
I don't think I can make it. My plans for the future changed a bit after a new job opening, and it's unlikely I can attend Mittens as it stands now.

I might try to pop in for a weekend or so.

I have a dream that one day moderators don't lock everthing on sight, but let members roam free.

Which community are you talking about, exactly?

I once dreamt that I had had a surgery in my brain. The stitches around my head weren't tight enough, so my skull opened, and my brain slid out. This happened while I was cooking, so my brain landed in the kitchen sink. I tried for a while to scoop it up in order to save it and put it back, but it was just a mess and I realised I could never make it work again. So I thought "what the heck, I might just as well fry the damn thing", and put it in the frying pan. It was a very bizarre dream.

Just want to add that my ending was added in time, but apparently the file didn't upload properly.

Here's the entire A-2.

Not that I was about to acquire GTA IV any time soon (you need xbox 360 or playstation 3 first, right?) but I'm kind of disappointed to hear that it involves less of the quirky details that made San Andreas kind of fun, even for a non-hardcore gamer as myself.
