Yeah it looks like a photo of Chuck Norris dramatically scaled down.
You could clean it up a lot by choosing pixels more carefully and go for fewer colours.

Pixelia, with that last post you immediately deprived me of what little hope I had left that this would be an original plot.
You have managed to high-light exactly the aspects of the Islamist culture that we're already over-fed with. Is it real? Yes, in many cases. But it's not original, it's been written and filmed and talked about for ages. You're just feeding western egos.

My girlfriend since 2 years is from Iran, her family and relatives back in Iran are very modern, and have nothing but positive things to say about me and our relationship. I talk with her aunts and uncles on the phone, they send me gifts, cards, etc. They study, marry whom they prefer and can go abroad. Sure, they're oppressed by a fanatic regime, but they're not stone-age themselves.
Why not portray what a modern, urban Persian family is like?

Here's something original for you:
The blond modern young British protagonist suddenly gets depressed by the hypocracy of his warfaring government, the crap food culture and the perpetual rain. He decides he wants to pursue spirituality, healthy food and a nice climate. He begins his journey to the orient.

Or:
The young girl, who happens to live in one of those backward rural communities that still treat women the way you describe, fallls in love with a young Tibetanian monk.

Hehe...
"Hearing that Yahtzee makes games is like finding out that Godzilla likes to dabble in architecture."
Nice one :)

Nooo, I don't want to destroy that old mental image I had of Yahtzee...the one with the loafers, the white tube socks and the too short trousers.
Of course, that hat and the goatee do the trick as well.

Your first puzzle is sweet. Classic adventure comedy.
The maze stuff isn't my cup-o-tea. Most people find mazes annoying, even if they solve them.

Looks like a pretty normal face to me! Compared to what kids in that age can look like...
Cute one though :)

It doesn't sound a bit original, in fact it sounds very stereotypical.
Original would be something that we westerners totally didn't expect. Not just that we're great and they're crazy, over there.
You haven't even really settled for a country, you just mentioned she's muslim, but whatever, all muslim countries are the same, right?

Yo Tuomas! Much of that hassle you brought on yourself. If you're dead tired, annoyed, stressed and late or whatever, why agree to waste hours and hours to photoshop a car for a friend? Sounds silly.

It doesn't sound like any of the problems you listed there are "real" problems, just signs of your own hyper sensitivity.
Girls depriving you of sleep? That happens, it shows you have a social life. Having people around you is a good thing. Sure it does sound a bit teenage with the pukes and all, but hey.
Your computer running slowly? Well at least you have a computer, just clean it and it'll be fine.
Room mates are generally a nuisance, we've probably all been there. Just ride it out, eventually you'll leave and find a place of your own.

So, obviously it's not really the circumstances around you that add up to you feeling bad, the feeling comes from inside you and if it persists you need to go to a psychologist. Or just get some freaking sleep!
Well good luck anyhow!

Do you compare every picture to Mr. Snuffleupagus, or is this an astonishing coincidence?

Hehe, great quote :)

Hehe, the chain posting here is almost as entertaining as the story itself :)

Babar, can you confirm that you've recieved it? Or the person after...just so we know where it is now.

Oh, and let's stop blaming each other. At least we've learnt a few things for next round :)

Got it, hehe.
So far there are only a couple of true contradictions, but a large amount of style clashes and minor inconsistencies.
I really really think people need to read through the text carefully before adding their part. However, the biggest problem is that people seem forced to add a brand new plot element or twist just because they can.

This is not related to the fairly small additions we make (200 words), this is due to people not being interested in keeping a calm, steady pace in a linear direction, where sudden plot twists should be kept to a minimum.

Secondly, it seems that these collaborative efforts always (or at least the times we've done it so far) tend to cross the border into the supernatural...what's wrong with classical and mundane? A matter of taste, of course :)

PS: FSi...there are obvious problems with changing POV when both perspectives are first person :) So you get
"I bought an ice cream and ate it."
"I sat in my car and drove off."
...and you're supposed to understand that those two sentences were uttered by different people?

Ah well, I don't think you even contributed with the biggest inconsistency, so don't worry :)

Spoiler

I'd say the teleportation act between chapter one and chapter two sort of set the standard of contradictions :)

I don't think a community needs to suffer from xenophobia just because it doesn't want to merge with every other similar community out there.
Our forums are rather neatly sized for their purposes, we have a productive games' department with numerous releases every year, and we're still close enough to each other to have social gatherings and lots of fun activities.

There are communities that aren't based on engines, like Adventure Gamer to pick one.

Sites go down and up all the time, everywhere, no need to report it here.

hm, I mistakingly wrote .com in the end of my address instead of .se
just in case it's heading my way...
The post is updated now though.

I don't really hear much of a composition or melody or theme or anything, just a chord progression, where every instrument plays in unison.
The instruments sound good for being midi, but you should definitely distribute it as a midi-file, that would make it much cooler.

Futurama: Jurassic Bark

A great and sad episode indeed.
I cry every little now and then, but probably never during shows and series like Lost (don't view it, or like it, for that matter), more likely during movies or documentaries.

Darth, you're just too used to the friendliness of AGS's critics lounge :)
I think the attitude over at Pixel Joint is pretty much prevalent across the intraweb's more specialised art-communities.

Of all those comments, only MrMister comes across as a real asshole, in the sense that he wasn't interested a bit in giving constructive criticism, just being moronic. Then again, in his gallery you'll find pieces like this one, so it's probably just jelously :)

I'm not an expert when it comes to pixel art, but the little I know is that the quality of a piece is pretty much determined by how wisely you choose colours. Using high amounts of near identical shades is basically a big no-no.

The fact the land they claim as theirs is the one where they live and raise their children make me cheer for them.
True, but the same goes for the Serbs. Plus, it's also where their fathers' fathers raised their children. That's why it's complicated. It's not just a piece of land with "Kosovo" written upon it. The fact that Albanians have raised children there is because Albanians at one point mass-migrated there and built settlements, and made a lot of children.
Quote
Also, even though the typical Serb should not be regarded as a sort of oppressor, Serbia politics towards neighbour nations and people was and is pretty wary, while Kosovo's leaders have stated their wish to join the EU. So good luck to them!
Sure, the Serbian military have been assholes and warmongers, which is why I'm not exactly taking their side here, but should the global community "punish" a country and its people by endorsing that parts of their land are removed?
Again, I'm not pro-Serbia or anything, just arguing a bit.

Nachos, your post reads a bit weird. What are you trying to say? The only thing that this event proves is that any faction or people, no matter how small, regardless of on what territory it is located, should be able to say "We're now independent!" and then be allowed to break from its current land.
If you endorse this, why not endorse the independence of the Basques? They comprise, incidentally, roughly the same amount of people as the Kosovo-albanians.

Well, Kosovo is going to need all the luck in the world, seeing how practically incapable it is to survive on its own.
The only thing I find slightly promising with the whole affair is that USA for once supports a muslim faction. Although, of course, the prime reason for this is that Russia supports Serbia, and as a knee jerk reaction USA must side with Kosovo.

That was done in A-team. And a dozen other cheap action movies/stories.
Usually with a chain though, or something at least slightly more durable than a towel...
